I really enjoy the new mechanics of DST but always tend to play alone out of not having enough time in the day to get friends together to play, are there mods that can bring the game as close as possible to a single player experience? If so which ones? I'd really like to be able to feel like im really alone and not in a world that anyone could potentially hop into even if the server limit I set is 1 person. On that note can you get rid of the florid postern? Walking around and seeing it now and again kinda takes me out of the whole vibe that dont starve sets of being alone in the woods and not having much in the way of help.

Okay so with no exciting news about the game since Woodies Refresh and the Salty Dog Beta the forums are pretty quite, I recall not to long ago that Klei was looking to hire people for Story Narrative and Art Direction.
So I have decided that who better to write a story for Don’t Starve Together then the DST Community themselves! Here is how it works- every forum member (including the actual game dev’s if they wanna get in on the fun and have the time) get to write an actual DST story.. but TOGETHER, to do this and to make it fun for everyone- your only allowed to post one sentence and then before you can post again 3-5 other forum members (depending on how much activity this thread gets) have to add to the story first.
I want to take the time here to say that this is meant to be FUN so please don’t be a jerk and post things that derail the entire story with stuff like Wilbur decided to stick a Banana in his Butt because he is a Monkey.

I just wanted to share a little idea I had for a Lunar Island Glommer. It's not too special or anything, but I just thought it would be a neat little concept!

Revealing Map as Player
Every player, including those without admin rights, can reveal the map. They can then have an easy way to find lunar island, ruin, or base.

[Announcement] Uncompromising Mode

What is this all about ?
- Uncompromising Mode will be a bit more than a simple mod collab, since everyone can be part of it. (Also started by Canis and me)
- You can see most of the informations on the server at the #where_am_i channel, but here is what you need to know :
- We have a "Fresh to Hot" system : You must start a new concept from the #mod_scrap channel and wait for feedbacks, corrections or improvements of your idea, everyone can help by submitting or reacting more stuff.
- Since we use the Klei's Forum emotes too, you can show your impressions over what is in #mod_scrap, if something have mostly positive results, you should rewrite it with a detailed version of your idea in #mod_submissions.
- We read all the submissions, and if you have been approved from the scrap, there is lot of chance we place it in a poll.
- The #mod_polls channel is the last step, the final vote and if your result are positive here, you're in. We will recreate your concept as original as we can from the details you give. And there you are, you improved the game experience.
- Everything that is added from your ideas will be compiled at the #mod_updates channel every week or so.
- The mod will be updated monthly (or so, once again) depending of the quantity and kind of submitted ideas, every features can be enabled/disabled from configurations : This have to be a uncompromising experience.
What kind of content ?
Just like before, #where_am_i channel is your friend ! But we're looking for everything, mostly what can make the game entertaining for a longer time and fix what the game is lacking on, so if it is mobs, biomes, events, minigames, bosses, equipements, ressources, weathers, effects, game modes...
anything, go for it !
The only avoided stuff is characters and tweaking what already exist in statistics, since there is mostly all what you can looks for on the workshop.

Challenge Thread - Full Moon EVERYTHING Rush
Hi Everyone,
I made an efficiency challenge, feel free to check it out
Basically, grab 7 other friends, pick all different characters and on an official Klei server, gather everything on the checklist above.
You can save a copy of the note, and start checking them off yourself.
We were talking on doing it on an EU server, we managed to only complete a small portion, but it seems to be doable, just very hard.
It feels like playing The Gorge to be honest, but using DST overall.
Highly recommend it if you are up for the challenge.
Since you probably won't reach everything on the list, you can also post screenshots of partial challenges complete, and count each check.
Would like to have this as a mod that automates the checklist (similar to bingo mod) but that might be too involved.

Useless items no one wants to use are basically excluded.
Wilson Rework - The Scientist
Hi all,
Here is a design that attempts to achieve the following goals from Wilson's identity :
1. Wilson is a simple character, with no downsides
2. Wilson is a scientist, likes experimenting
3. Wilson is intended as the face of don't starve, and he should be flavorful
4. Wilson is intended to be easy to get into for new players without being confusing
5. Wilson has a lot of knowledge and sanity to boot, similar to wicker
6. Wilson is a forgiving character to play
7. Wilson has to be a team player with some ability of revives (as seen in the forge)
New ability : Portable Chemistry Set
This is a new portable station (that Wilson can start with) which can be dropped like Maxwell book that unlocks some formulas that can be made with ingredients at the cost of sanity on use. The potions spoil in 3 days, to prevent stockpiling. Other characters can drink or use them, but cannot make them. The potions have mild support effects.
1. Heartpulse Formula
2x spider glands + 2 nitre + 30 health
This formula is like a telltale heart,with bonus points reviving at 100 health instead of 50, and without booster shot needed. The downside is that it doesn't restore sanity on use, but drains 20 sanity to the person using it on a ghost
Reason: as per his forge design, and the fact that new players die a lot, this would help for revives
2. Luminus Formula
2x light bulb + 2x nitre
Upon consumption, makes Wilson glow, with the duration of 3x a lesser glow berry. It consumes 20 sanity on use.
reason: new players usually avoid caves, and this would help them out
3. Sanity+
4x flowers + 2 nitre
Restores 30 sanity.
reason: simple formula for new players that wish to spend extra nitre resources to not have to deal with nightmare creatures
4. Trinitretolleus (crafts 3)
3x nitre + 3x ashes
Throwable gunpowder (like balloons)
It does 59.5 damage on hit, sets targets on fire after 3 hits in short succession, and no fire otherwise. Works in an aoe. These spoil in 10 days, instead of 3, and do not cost sanity on use.
Reason: for players that have issues kiting, this can help as a ranged attack with a cost of grinding. Numbers can be tweaked.
5. Brightbark Formula
1x logs + 1x nitre
A fuel item that lasts as long as glommer's goop. Creates efficiency at the cost of nitre. No sanity cost on use (because it is not drank, but fuel)
Let me know what you think of this approach and if you have other ideas of interesting formulas that fit Wilson's identities.
Bonus: I would also add a "Use" option to Maxwell's book and the portable chemistry set, which simply drops it at your feet, to make new players understand how it is used

Introducing, Klei Rewards
We are introducing a system that will allow players to collect "points" on their accounts by doing various things like subscribing to our Youtube or following us on Twitter and then use those points to get items. Currently we will be using this to distribute our out of cycle Twitch items rather than selling them as we had previously suggested. This allows players to get what they missed before or just get them without going through Twitch.

In the future we will update the rewards program with new ways to earn more points and pick up cool rewards they may have missed, or even possibly entirely new stuff. Let us know what you think!
[Suggestion] Decorations Tab
Lately I've been thinking about payable DLC to DST but this idea seems impossible to implement so here's little equivalent: decorations tab
The tab has some items/structures removed from other tabs:
- Potter's Wheel
- Wardrobe
- Potted Fern
- Potted Succulent (after using blueprint)
- Ancient Relics (after using blueprint)
- End Table (after using blueprint)
and two new structures: Potted flower:
Board + 5X Petals
Potted Lune Blossom:
Moon rock + 5X Lune Tree Blossom
And the most important part of this topic: chests with new "characteristic" decorations and skins to this structures which can be purchased e.g.
Fountain with one empty slot where player can put correct item and according to this item different liquid appears:

I have never outplayed myself so hard before...
I just have to share it cause what I did made me EEK! IRL. So I had this lovely field of killer bee hives in my world and in single player DS I usually handled bees with lureplants. I found some so I went ahead and planted them. Few days later I made my way to the field to see they have already bloomed and I could go forth with the killer bee hive eradication.
It turns out they respawn very fast and I didn't go there prepared for some heavy battling I was kinda-sorta kiting them around the plants and hitting the hives in the intervals where there were no bees around. Maybe not the most efficient way of doing things, but one of my favorite things to do in DS is pitting one evil thing vs another so I didn't mind.
So then I had the nearby hives destroyed and I figured it's time to move my eyeplant further into the field to handle the next batch. As usual. As always.
And then the game said: YOU FOOL!
The plant died and from its corpse emerged HUNDREDS of killer bees. They popped out in a long row which for a quarter of a second my mind considered a glitch as I was sure all I'd get would be honey and stingers. Before I managed to compute what the hell just happened and get to running the bees have awoken and killed my 20 HP, raincoated ass.

Wolfgang's True Identity
Wolfgang.
A character held in high regard. A scaredy strongman with a big heart. His strength cannot be surpassed, his ego is great, but his passion keeps him grounded.
For centuries, this character's backstory has been shrouded in mystery. Who is Wolfgang? Is he German?? Russian?? WHAT IS HE?
Now, I've found an undeniable clue. Something that changes everything.

characters refresh/rework ideas
So, now that we are all waiting for the next character rework to be announced (and next new DLC characters), I thought: why not share my own ideas about what could happen. Also my ideas on the previous reworks.
*just won't be commenting on the DLC character Wortox and Wormwood, since they are new and no further reworks are needed.
The already reworked:
-Winnona: she was really needing it the most, she used to had no downsides, and was not really that interesting. she is fine now, but i hope she gets more machines to power with her generators, maybe some aquatic machines for the rafts.
-Willow: Love her new abilities, she is very well balanced
-Warly: I really like his food related downsides, since it makes him a high risk, high reward character(can't survive on meat balls and pierogies alone), especially in the late game. Not a beginners option but someone that pro players really can make good use of.
-Woodie: I, as a woodie main, was really confused when his rework come out, not because of the unbalanced stuff (it was obvious they would fix that), but because it was a complete rework, instead of a few tweaks here and there, but I grow to like his new shape shifting self, although I miss the pine cone planting sanity perk, and think maybe he still need a one more downside (kinda miss the log meter).
The future reworks
-Wilson "The Gentleman Scientist"
Lets face it, he is a beginners character, and that's how he will stay. But since he is "The Gentleman Scientist" he should have "scientific knowledge", so he needs to know at least all the Science machine items (same perk as Wickerbottom), also the ability to draw blueprints for other characters (papirus + feather pencil) so he can "share his knowledge"

-Wendy "The Bereaved"
Not much to change on her, mostly give her the ability to better control Abigail, to turn her into a true "Necromancer". Basically having commands for her, like Haunt (same results as a player ghost haunting mobs or the environment), Stand by (just follow around) and attack (self explanatory). To do this she could hold Abigail's flower on her hand slot and then right click on things/mobs to Haunt and left click for Attack.
New perks:

-Wes "The silent"
He was originally hard mode for solo DS, but now he is in a multiplayer game and he is pretty much a burden for the other players in his current state, so my idea is for him to be completely reworked (woodie style) in to a very high risk, very high reward type of character. We would keep the silent quirk and x0,75% damage taken multiplier since they are good downsides, take away his hunger drain x1,25% multiplier (so he doesn't hinder the other players) and in exchange give him a speed boost which will be dependent on his hunger level (x1,4% at 100-66%, normal at 65-34% and x0,75 at below 33%) making him "light on his feet". Then rework his balloonmancy completely, making it more of a tab, where he could choose what balloon to make and been able to hold onto one or more in the hand slot. The main idea is that by holding a balloon of a specific mob, other mobs would react to it as if it was the real mob (beefalo won't attack you on mating season if holding a beefalo balloon, spiders would not attack you if you are holding a spider balloon but pigs would attack you thinking you have a spider, and pig warriors or were pigs would not attack you if you are holding a pig balloon for example)making him a "master of disguise", not many more balloons shapes are necessary, and making them will still requiere a pile of balloons and a 5 sanity use. this changes would make him very good at early game exploration and gathering.

-Wigfrid "The performance artist"
Not many changes on her, she could extend her damage multiplier to other players by "riling up the troops", a passive perk by attacking mobs next to other players, making her more useful for the team. Also "Gaining power from her armor": increasing her own damage dealing multiplier from x1,25% to x1,75 when using her full armor set (her battle helm + a new armor piece called the battle suit made of a 2 steel wool, 4 gold and a 1 hammer).
New perks:
*can rile up the troops
*gains power from her armor
-Maxwell "The puppet master"
He if fine overall, but maybe we could tweak his shadow puppets. Instead of the current worker puppet (20% sanity) and duelist puppet (35% sanity), he could just make puppets that cost 25% sanity and have 50hp, but instead of spawning specific job puppets, you have to equip them with gear on their respective head body and hand slots. If you want them to fight, give them spears or shadow swords but also give them some suit logs and helmets or if you want them to cut trees or dig stumps or even carry stuff for you(yes, with a backpack), give them the tools to do so, but those tools and weapons will have normal durability, and will break accordingly. By holding your codex umbra, you can manage the actions, equipment and heath of your puppets (you can give health restoring items to your duelist through the codex umbra or equip them with tools at distance). If your puppets die you will lose the nightmare fuel you used to make them, but if you absorb them back you will regain the sanity you lose + the nightmare fuel you use to make them. You can also upgrade your codex umbra with shadow atriums, that will give you an extra puppet that doesn't require a sanity penalty (up to +2)

-Wickerbottom "The librarian"
She needs a nerf to her book reading powers, which would be to only be able to read her books as long as she has sanity to use, also, would give her two more books:
* "Geological formations" (2 papirus + 1 gold) will make three boulders appear around you, the type of boulder will be different depending on the turf where they spawn (moon turf could spawn moon glass, rock turf plain boulders or gold veins), and reading it around trees will petrify them.
* Winter wonderland" (2 papirus + 1 blue gem) will freeze mobs in front of you, but it will also freeze water in front of you, allowing you to walk over it for a full day
-Webber "The indigestible"
Been able to craft the shamlet mask from hamlet (1 pig skin + 1 beard hair) to be able to blend in with the non monster crowd. Been able to sleep inside spider dens to regain sanity (like a siesta-o-lean), and as an added bonus, by doing this, transforming the type of spider around himself, but this change will only last for two in game days (16 minutes).
*Spider den: turn into a warrior spider, which lets gives him a jump attack move with a right click, but make him lose sanity during the day.
*Spilagmite: turn into a cave spider, your chest slot becomes a hard shell, with 85% damage reduction, you can also hide inside your shell for zero damage and passive health regeneration, but can't equip anything into the chest slot.
*Dangling depth dweller nest: (you would go up into the ceiling) turn into a Dangling depth dweller, would give you a night vision like vision, but sunlight from the surface you make you blind (you would see all white)
*Shattered spider hole: turn into a shattered spider, giving you a ranged attack, but halving your total health on transformation
-Wolfgang "The Strongman"
He is to OP, needs a nerf, in the form of taking away his speed boost in mighty form.
-WX-78 "The soulless automaton"
He will be able to insert gems cores (gem + 1 gold) onto his chest slot, gaining a different abilities
*red gem core: heated up termal stone effect, gains a fire staff like attack consuming 10% the gem duration
*blue gem core: cooled down thermal stone effect, gains a ice staff like attack consuming 10% of the gem duration
*purple gem core: goes insane, goes into overload mode, core drains (half a day)
*orange gem core: teleportation, consumes 5% per use
*yellow gem core: speed boost + sanity gain
*green gem core: access to all craftables at half the price (consumes 10% per use)

Smallbirds following the wrong person
Hello!
My boyfriend and I play DST and have recently encountered an issue related to raising Smallbirds. During our last play session I spent time to hatch 2 Tallbird eggs so that I could raise a few Smallbirds in our world. Once they hatched they followed me for the rest of our play session which was several days worth of time in the game.
However, the issue we are encountering started when we logged back in today to continue playing in our world. My boyfriend, who is the host of the server, logs in before me since he has to launch the server. When he lands in the world first, the Smallbirds immediately follow him, and will not follow me when I enter the world. Is there a way to fix this so that the Smallbirds continue to follow me even if I log in to the server after him?

Hallowed Nights Suggestions
It’s Officially October you guys know what that means!!! Outside of it being my favorite time of the year lol it’s Time for Halloween!!! So let’s get your ideas on what A Hallowed Nights Event should include, character skins, Item Skins, new decorations, new gameplay features you name it! Here’s mine:
Witches Cauldron- Reskins Crockpot with Erie Green Flames Classic black witch crockpot, with Tentacles hanging out the edge.
If Walani is added- Witches Broom.. Reskins Surfboard to look like a Witches Broom.
Flaming Pit of the lost souls- Reskins Firepit to have green flames, a more gothic look, and tiny little ghost souls that float up out of it screaming. (Would be about like burning living logs I guess)
Vampiric Fountain, this ones pretty simple- a Water Fountain That instead of flowing water, flows blood. I’d of course like to have a NORMAL fountain too though.
Halloween Costumes!!! All sorts of Halloween Outfits, Mummy, Witch, Vampire, Frankenstein/Bride of Frankenstein, Headless Horseman, Sea Monster, Werewolf, Zombie, A Erie light blue see-through Pirate ghost (that looks more like a Maxwell Shadow Clone then it does the actual Ghosts in DST)
I want a Firepit, a Crockpot and a torch but all with Erie green flames instead of the normal flame.
I guess that’s about it.. we need Halloween content!

A QoL option I feel should be a thing.
I feel the need to post this. While there is a mod to help with this kind of issue. I feel like perhaps there should be an option to have something similar without the need for mods.
There should be some kind of setting in the options menu to tone down certain flashy color effects such as lightning or other such rapid color changing effects in DS/T.
For some people who suffer from epilepsy(or something similar) this would be a nice option to help prevent seizures or other triggered effects from this. I'm mainly speaking from lightning in particular, especially when Wickerbottom players spam The End is Nigh. Without the linked mod I actually had problems whenever a Wickerbottom player used that book a bunch, my stomach would turn and I'd feel like I'd want to vomit.
I've also heard issues related to the insanity filter in the ruins too causing something similar, being able to disable certain things like this would be nice for those with epilepsy problems.
I hope Klei considers this, I feel this is something that sould be a vanilla feature rather then depending on mods to do this.
