I'm trying to decide which skin looks best in a dress and it's hard to tell when I don't know what the bloom looks like.
Would be nice to check out what Wormwood's bloom looks like when previewing skins.
Compost Wrap is only as good as rot in terms of fertilizer
Did a test with rot, manure, guano, and compost wrap with applied horticulture. Manure and guano lasted 3 uses, rot and compost lasted more. All items involved were spawned in. What went wrong?
Season Pass
With the inclusion of the 4 new characters and skin bundles, Klei has found a way to monetize their game without the use of stuff like in-game currency. However, with games with DLC comes a Season Pass, which is basically the cheapest way to get all the DLC in a game, with sometimes added bonuses. Do you think Don’t Starve Together could use something like this or is it unnecessary? Let me know what you think.
Wormwood's Flammability
After playing Wormwood in DST I found that he was moved over pretty well...
However one feature was missing and after seeing the stream I am really disappointed in Klei's decision to remove Wormwood's flammability. Now I do understand Klei not wanting him to be able to burn down the base by mistake and I for one don't want this either. However I think in removing this feature it has made Wormwood less interesting, it has taken the mind set I had gotten from playing him in single player where I was always looking out when ever I was in summer or spring for smoldering or lightning, near fire pits and burning trees, or the Dfly and fire hounds, to now just being a thing where its just another modded character who takes more damage from the cold or the heat. In DS you couldn't run from the fire but in DST you can. In the end it just feels like they flipped Willow's perk upside down.
What I would like to see is Klei change it back and just remove the ability for it to set other things on fire.
Interesting Wormwood Strats?
So, since a lot of people have had the chance to play Wormwood I was wondering if anyone has found interesting strategies utilizing his abilities or specifically help Wormwood.
The only DST exclusive things that I can think of that are very nice with Wormwood is that you can intentionally rot food with Toadstool's spore cloud, he works well with Wortox, and is able to reliably get living logs for mushroom planters.
I've been trying to find a decent use for both the bramble trap and the bramble husk but cannot for the life of me find anything at all that can't be achieved through other items besides picking cacti and spiky bushes with no penalty. Anyone have any ideas?
Xbox One Dlc doesnt work
The dlc items such as the wormwood and wortox chest can't be bought due to an error im having where this error shows that says a privacy setting has to be changed (even though it doesn't narrow it down to exactly what and no matter what i change nothing works), followed by an ingame message saying "Sorry! Disconnected to Klei Servers". I've contacted klei multiples times but to no evail.
please help i really want wormwood ;-;
Comparison between Winona's catapults, BERNIE! and Abigail
I'm main Wendy, I really wish she would be reworked well, when the time comes.
I therefore propose a comparative analysis with two characters currently reworked and a personal proposal of mine.
Notice that I am repurposing old ideas, you may already have read my proposal in other topics.
- Life: Winona's catapults - 400 HP / BERNIE! - 2000 HP / Abigail - 600 HP
- Regeneration: Winona's catapults - 8 HP for 10 seconds / BERNIE! - None / Abigail - 1 HP for 1 second
- Damage: Winona's catapults - 42,5 / BERNIE! - 50 / Abigail - 10 Day, 20 Dusk, 40 Night
- Damage to area: Winona's catapults - Yes / BERNIE! - None / Abigail - Yes
- It can hit the shadows: Winona's catapults - No / BERNIE! - Yes / Abigail - No
- Method of evocation: Winona's catapults - Build it with trusty tape, sticks and rocks / BERNIE! - Willow has to put it down and go crazy / Abigail - Wendy has to wait three or four days and sacrifice an animal on her twin's flower. She also loses 50 of sanity.
- In case of death: Winona's catapults - Winona can build a new catapult at any time and recover some of the materials from the old one. / BERNIE! - Willow can "cure" it with a sewing kit and bring it back to 100% of life. In case of abandonment, it give part of the materials to rebuild it from scratch. / Abigail - The flower closes for another 3/4 days
- Other special abilities: Winona's catapults - There is no limit to the number of catapults that Winona can build simultaneously. Each catapult requires to be powered by a generator. / BERNIE! - Willow can build several BERNIE! and activate them one at a time as soon as the previous one dies. BERNIE! It attracts the attention of enemies, allowing Willow to act almost undisturbed. / Abigail - She emits a feeble light, which however is very difficult to use against Charlie. Like BERNIE!, when an Abigail dies, Wendy can immediately summon another with another flower
As can easily be seen from this quick comparative analysis, Abigail is tremendously frail compared to other companion.
She has less life, does less damage even in her most powerful form, has no particularly interesting abilities beyond area damage; it also has a longer evocation method if we want to.
I would therefore like to reiterate the need to increase Abigail's statistics, as well as having the opportunity to tell her whether to attack or not.
I remember that both Winona and Willow have other abilities beyond their minions, while Wendy only has Abigail (currently). All the more reason, I think Abigail should be a little more resistant and versatile than the others.
Here are my suggestions on how to make Abigail appropriate to the new "power level" of the characters:
- Life: Abigail - 1200 HP
- Regeneration: Abigail - 10 HP for 1 second in "peaceful" mode; 5 HP for 1 second in "hostile" mode
- Damage: Abigail - 20 Day, 40 Dusk, 80 Night
- Damage to area: Abigail - Yes, +50% radius
- It can hit the shadows: Abigail - No
- Method of evocation: Abigail - Wendy has to wait three or four days and sacrifice an animal on her twin's flower. She also loses 50 of sanity.
- In case of death: Abigail - The flower closes for another 3/4 days, If it is Wendy who sends Abigail away, the flower is immediately ready for a new evocation.
- Other special abilities: Abigail - She emits a feeble light, which however is very difficult to use against Charlie. Like BERNIE!, when an Abigail dies, Wendy can immediately summon another with another flower. Abigail can be controlled by Wendy, who can decide whether to put her in "peaceful" mode (she will never attack, under any circumstances, tending to distance herself from enemies) or "hostile" (normal behavior). Abigail is also 30% faster in moving.
This new Abigail, as you can see, does not have the possibility of "massacre" that have Winona's catapults, nor the possibility of obtaining as many nightmares as BERNIE! Also, She has 800 HP less than the latter and cannot be "repaired" with a simple sewing kit.
It also does less damage on average, only during the few night minutes it gets to inflict 80 damage.
however, this new Abigail, if used well, wants to be a tank of the first category: its massive regeneration can allow she (if commanded well on when to stand aside during the fight) to resist many hits, even by most powerful enemies. Now she really can protect Wendy, as her description says.
Ps: I have personally tested Abigail with these features, including the ability to control she. Personally, I've always found it to work very well without being broken.
All Released Skins (as of now)
I started this thread back in 2016 as a time waster to catalogue every single skin in DST. Since then I've been revisiting this thread and adding more and more as DST's skin system grew ever bigger into the behemoth it is now. It's now 3 years later and I'm still at it!
As of March 2nd, 2019, this thread has now been added as Featured! Thanks Joe!

Showing off your outfits [2]
Hi all. The old topic was archived in early 2017, but I thought it'd be a good idea to bring it back. There have been a ton of content since and quite a bit of skins. Personally I really enjoyed the Victorian collection but others were good as well. Well, if you got any cool outfit sets you wish to share - post it here!
I'll start
Colonel Woodie of The Royal Canadian Regiment
Shadow smith Winona
XIX century colonial governor Wilhelm P. Higgsenburgh
Severely beaten yet still dapper Wilson
Wormwood's adorable new idle animation
Only one thing can save Woodie from oblivion
With Wormwood, Woodie also lost his "planter" role, let's call it that.
And the future is even more uncertain for our poor Canadian: Wagstaff and Wilba could sooner or later be added to DST: Albert Einstein who builds the final wood harvesting machine and the pig princess who is practically a better Werebeaver in every respect .
But perhaps there is hope.
It would be enough that the werewolf beaver could do something unique, special, unrepeatable:
TO SWIM. *angelic choir*
How beavers do in life.
(In the photo, Woodie observes the advent of Wormwood unhappily. But also: "Mother [Klei] why did you create me to suffer?")
Don't Starve Together Roadmap 2019
Hello everyone!
It’s been a while since I’ve made a post here, I’d like to share with you our plans for 2019, which are extensive!
First, I’d like to recap what happened in 2017/2018:
In 2017 we launched the Forge, and followed it up in 2018 with the Gorge. The idea was that we could offer a new way of playing Don’t Starve Together, in a limited-time format. We were a bit burned out on creating DST core game content and this format allowed us to try something a bit different, so we made these crazy game modes and provided them to the community for free.
Every time we launched these events, tons of players came to play, and in every instance we hit our highest ever DST concurrency. We’re super thrilled that so many people came to play the our weird game events!
While we enjoyed the events and are happy with the result, there were some drawbacks:
- They took WAY longer to make than we expected, so we weren’t able to make as much content as we wanted, and it left little time to do things like bug fixes and Quality of Life updates for the base game.
- Because we run the servers for these events, we also incurred the cost of these servers. Those of you who have been here a while know that Don’t Starve was not architected to be a multiplayer game, so running them on our servers was extremely inefficient. In short, even though we loved that everyone came to play, the item sales were only barely covering the costs of the servers.
- We found that it was exceedingly difficult for us to run these events on console and as such underserved our console players.
It has been a valuable experience and we think the game is better for it, however we feel that it’s time that we turn our attention back to the core Don’t Starve Together experience: surviving together.
Here’s what we’re doing for 2019:
Brand New Content
The team is now working on brand new content for Don’t Starve Together. Survivors will be able to travel to new lands with new biomes, creatures, and more.
The first drop of this new content will come in mid-April, and we will continually be adding to the content every couple months afterward. As we said before, we think it’s important that everyone can play together and we don’t segregate our audience, so all of this content will be available for free to everyone!
Character Refreshes
The team also felt it was high time we gave our core cast some love (yes, we heard you). Over the course of the next year, we will be bestowing every character with revamped abilities, and give a glimpse into their backstory. Our goals here are to make each character unique, interesting and valuable in their own right and we expect this to be game changing in many ways.
Starting in March with Winona, we will be releasing a character refresh once a month.
These character refreshes will again be free to all players, and we will be selling new skins for these characters on the month they are refreshed.
In addition, the Triumphant, Guest of Honor and Survivor skin packs will be available to purchase for the character on that date. All owners of these skins prior to that date will be upgraded to an “Heirloom” rarity, with a higher unraveling value.
New Characters Enter the Fray
A fresh batch of four characters have been unwittingly ensnared and brought into the world. These new survivors will be released into the wild starting in Mid-March, and a new one will be released every 2 months.
We are still deciding the final price of these characters, but we currently think they will be $6.99 USD each, which includes a full character skin set. You will also be able to weave the characters with spool.
Since we do not want to charge players for the new world content, these new characters will be our main way to fund development of this new content.
Console Development
We are working hard on keeping the console versions of the game up to date. Specifically, we are investing in technology to allow us to more quickly update the game without going through lengthy certification on every small change, and we've also added more staff to work exclusively on updating the console versions.
We're happy to say that the next update for the Year of the Pig King event will launch within 2 days of the PC version.
Quality of Life, Twitch Drops, Etc.
We will also be continually updating the game with bug fixes, QoL updates, new skins for Twitch drops, and more things that we’re not quite ready to announce yet.
Speaking of which, the Year of the Pig King update is going live on Thursday! Long Live the (Pig) King!

And that’s it folks!
In short, we are significantly increasing our support of Don’t Starve Together in 2019 with new game content, character refreshes, new stories to be told, new characters, and new skins.
Thanks so much for playing this crazy game, once again. I’m still amazed at how it’s evolved over the years. Please give us your feedback and thoughts!
Wormwood's Sanguine Experiment
Sanguine Experiment doesn't heal Wormwood, it only applies hp regen.
I wonder if it is intended or an oversight.

Wickerbottom might be from New York
At the beginning of the Next Of Kin animated short, you can see a newspaper clipping that has the title “Flame consumes New York library”. Maxwell and Charlie were in San Francisco when they were brought to the constant by Them via the Codex Umbra, and there is another newspaper headline that reads “San Francisco Ablaze!”. Whenever someone is teleported to the constant, it seems like a fire could start as the result. A fire even burns down the Voxola Radio building, after Winona is pulled into the constant by Charlie.
Wendy "the Necromancer"
Some time ago I published a topic where I compared the catapults of Winona, BERNIE! and Abigail, as well as suggesting several changes in the statistics and behavior of Wendy's dead twin.
Many have appreciated, others have expressed interest in a more varied gameplay for the last of the Carter, which don't merely change Abigail only.
I have read several proposals: the possibility for Wendy of resurrecting other players to the cost of sanity, or Abigail take "possession" Wendy for giving her a temporary boost in statistics.
They are all nice ideas, but which I think are not suited to the character: for me Wendy is an summoner, and therefore her gameplay should revolve around generating "hordes" of otherworldly creatures, ready to carry out her orders.
Obviously, starting from this basic vision, the ideas proposed by the community that I liked the most were those related to Wendy's ability to "resurrect" skeletons and ghosts from graves, besides Abigail, to be used as followers.
However, no one has expressed this concept rigorously: how should this type of evocation work? Should Wendy do some kind of ritual near the tombs? Should he insert a telltale heart in the skeletons in order to "resurrect" them? Could you perhaps assemble skeletons of various creatures (dogs, pigs, beefalos) with bone fragments? In short, the potential is unlimited.
Imagine Wendy riding a skeletal beefalo followed by an army of undead :'D
I correct myself then: Wendy shouldn't be a mere summoner. But a real necromancer.
What do you think?
I would really like the community to make themselves heard about Wendy and try to come up with valid, well-constructed and interesting ideas.
Isn't the island adventures mod violating copyright?
Aren't they kind of violating Klei's copyright rules posting almost an entire dlc for free on the workshop?
I mean, maybe if they made it all from scratch it'd be alright but people could still take advantage from that mod.
What do you think?
Screenshot showcase
A thread like this existed before but I'm afraid it fell deep into the archive, so here is a new one. You can post funny, odd and terrible pictures that you made while playing DST.
Here are some from my collection:
Love this one because it looks like as if the third bunny from the right (not counting the bunny behind the hut) is throwing the small bunny.
My dear Wolfgang managed to trap himself while being sane and of course I mocked him by taking a screenshot and weeks later finding myself trapped in this too while being sane.
Wigfrid is able to fish in carpet. Who would have guessed.
