So around a year or so ago I made a thread about rushing the ruins as Wolfgang. At that point in the game I had put in around 100 hours and was still feeling out the game. Now I'm back 250 ish hours later and I've started to take a HUGE liking to Wx. In addition to being able to eat spoiled food, his synergy with Wickerbottom (lighting, food spoilage) is amazing, and being to survive winter without thermal stones is amazing. So I thought to myself why not try rushing ruins? I have successfully completed a ruins rush 10 plus times and I've introduced a close friend to playing dst. Realizing that he isn't experienced enough to rush ruins with me, he insists on playing as Wolfgang. I have 2 questions: Just as a basic for rushing ruins as Wx what would be the essentials to bring out if I'm playing with a Wolfgang and myself as Wx? (Should I spend time to make weapons because of Wolfgangs amazing ability to just tank deerclops?) Also, I have only played solo or with a wickerbottom so I'm wondering what our food source should be if we play? I'm thinking morsels from traps, feeding monster meat to birds and making bacon and eggs or just meatballs but is their any other method that would work more efficiently? Thanks

Unlocking Characters
So... you don't have to unlock characters in DST. But if you did, I was thinking of some neat ways to unlock them instead of just "experience points."
- Wilson and Winona come unlocked.
- Other characters unlock by finding their skull, and burying it in a grave.
- Wendy gets unlocked by finding her skull in a grave, so she's easy to unlock
- Willow's skull drops after you've burned enough stuff, maybe your own structures, or trees. Wildfires and lightning don't count.
- Woodie's skull drops after you've chopped enough trees.
- Maxwell's skull gets unlocked by dying, then haunting the Florid Postern, whereupon he spawns from it, says, "There's no escape from there." ...then dies and drops his skull.
- Wolfgang's skull drops when defeating Bearger, because they're both stronk, and they both eat all your food
- Wigfrid's skull drops once you've defeated enough monsters, that drop real meat.
- Wickerbottom's skull drops from defeating tentacles, where she perished searching for papyrus
- Webber's skull continues to drop from killing spiders, or possibly as a drop only from the spider queen
- WX-78's skull drops from defeating clockworks, but only if Webber lands the final blow
- Wes's skull drops if you construct an altar surrounded in thulecite walls, from all the defeated boss sculptures in a certain pattern around the Stagehand, sacrificing Glommer there on the full moon with 0% sanity.
The new method to make solo kill enraged klaus without damage become possibility [No film , Show the method only]
I discover the method for solo kill enraged klaus without damage. If i tell you guys the method is gunpowder and pan flute , i guess all of you will blame and report me . Keep the gunpowder for shadow pieces. We don't need gunpowder and pan flute for enraged klaus solo kill. Using two meatbulb (lure plant) to block enraged klaus, i suggest use lure plant for 2nd form enraged klaus only.
For this fight, you need to equip walking cane. Hit him once and run when he try to smell player, you can hit him three to four time and run.
The lure plant use to block "chomp attack".
There is no point to kill the enraged klaus for loot. Killed enraged klaus and normal klaus have a same drop effect. Enraged klaus for challenger only.
Just a curious question about anyone who watches DST twitch streams
To the people who watches DST, do you guys tend to turn away (not watch AT ALL) the DST twitch streamers that have their game heavily modded or am I the only one?
Lately, I've been watching a lot of DST twitch streams and I have been enjoying only watching certain streamers (clwnbaby, esaiXD to name a few...) their gamestyle is very organic and very enjoyable to watch for some reason.
When they're not online streaming DST, I just avoid all other PC folks streaming DST, specially the ones with heavily modded game (I just can't stand these people... I can see in the preview stream that they have like 36 inventory slots, a huge non-krampus backpack, and they're usually not a original DST character but some modded anime character and they have this huge chest that looks like an underground cellar, lol) I just can't watch it, I don't find it fun at all.
I'm a console DST player, I'm glad the console version doesn't allow modded things, it does seem to take out the fun in the game when you have so much advantage (imo).
Anyway, back to the question I was wondering if the any other folks who watches DST twitch streams is picky like me, it's been bugging me for a while

Potential Bug In Regards to Actions and Modded Prefabs
So I've had this issue reported to me a few times now in regards to my Repair Mod where people have thought my mod is crashing their game, but when looking at their crashlogs it seems it was other mods crashing the game with the error message:
ERROR: Mod component actions are out of sync for mod workshop-########. This is likely a result of your mod's calls to AddComponentAction not happening on both the server and the client.
Which I thought okay, it's other mods that aren't handling their actions properly and it's causing the client and host to go out of sync with each other as this is also a client-side crash, not a server crash. But then the other day I get the report of the same exact issue occurring, but it's with a mod that doesn't even touch any of the actions whatsoever, neither newly added actions nor amending already existing ones. This was the Ice Maker 3000 mod and in it, all that it's adding is the prefab for the Ice Maker 3000 as well as a couple mod config options. Other than that I don't see anything in regards to changing/amending any sort of action :\
What I have found, however, is under the "AddNetwork()" function in any given prefab file, it adds an empty table under the "modactioncomponents" variable and assigns it to the given prefab. This empty table shows up directly under the error message in the log under the given ERROR message above:
[00:25:28]: ERROR: Mod component actions are out of sync for mod workshop-858801295. This is likely a result of your mod's calls to AddComponentAction not happening on both the server and the client. [00:25:28]: K: workshop-858801295 V: table: 2FEE3090 -- empty table [00:25:28]: self.modactioncomponents is [00:25:28]: K: workshop-846289888 V: table: 20D059A8 [00:25:28]: K: INVENTORY V: table: 20D0E738 [00:25:28]: K: shaver V: function: 1C38FFC8 [00:25:28]: K: USEITEM V: table: 20D05188 [00:25:28]: K: plantcure V: function: 1C38FF28 [00:25:28]: K: workshop-850125165 V: table: 436FFC40 [00:25:28]: K: INVENTORY V: table: 43709998 [00:25:28]: K: tinder V: function: 2FB47FA0 [00:25:28]: K: USEITEM V: table: 43702B70 [00:25:28]: K: battery V: function: 2FB48120 [00:25:28]: K: hammerfix V: function: 2FB47AA0 [00:25:28]: K: magicfuel V: function: 2FB47BE0 [00:25:28]: K: manurefuel V: function: 2FB48060 [00:25:28]: K: reinforcer V: function: 2FB47D60 [00:25:28]: K: saltfuel V: function: 2FB481C0 [00:25:28]: K: spooler V: function: 2FB47CA0 [00:25:28]: K: tinder V: function: 2FB47F80 [00:25:28]: MOD_COMPONENT_ACTIONS is
Notice how the tables under MOD_COMPONENT_ACTIONS were iterated through and shown every value in each where the one under self.modactioncomponents was empty. Why is that table even there? Is there a way to be able to merge that client-side table with the server-side table without using AddComponentAction as there's no action to be added/amended? If anyone has any insight on this issue, I would love to learn more about it and know if there's any way I could maybe have a way to handle merging them through my mod by some means.
EDIT: Oh crap, I must've clicked the wrong forum link and didn't even realize it lol could a moderator move this over to the modding forum for me? My apologies xD <3
EDIT 2: I actually went and just reposted it over on those forums anyways, so if someone could delete this post I'd be grateful

Using walls to solo Moon Stone event
When I first tried the event on my own I was really disappointed that, like several things in this game, it has been designed to only be done by multiple players so trying to do it alone is extremely tedious.
My main two ideas for how to solo the event were to put the enemies to sleep with a panflute then hit them to draw aggravation and just do that to try to keep them all distracted or asleep as long as possible. Or just surround the moon stone in walls so the enemies can't actually reach it. But I looked on the wiki and it was like blah blah walls don't work the enemies just blah blah or something and it really doesn't make sense why walls wouldn't work.
Like, if you surround the moon stone in two layers of fully upgraded stone walls, I can't imagine them being able to break through before the event ends unless they all focus one part of the wall down. Or there is some kind of mechanic in place which melts the walls so the enemies have a fair chance of getting to the moon stone but I doubt Klei put that failsafe in. Has anybody actually tried using walls to solo the event?
Day 2100 Megabase
Hey all,
I was going to make a video to show you all some of the designs in my base, but I've realized it's much easier to stream it so I can explain any questions you may have. I have some great techniques for beginners and advanced players in my base, from farming grass / twigs / wood in bulk, to easy food production and soloing bosses. Feel free to stop by and ask any questions:

Really small dumb irrelevent question lmao
Do you think the Don't Starve characters are connected? I did a bunch of theories on how they could potentially be related, but honestly, everyone except the one about Wendy and Maxwell are the most speculative of speculation. If a dev had a minute, maybe they could just drop me a quick "Yeah" "Nah" or "Some of them are"? Or anyone in general reading this could tell me their opinion
Announcing Don't Starve: Hamlet, The Forge and other exciting news!
Hello everyone!
We’ve been a bit quiet about Don’t Starve in the last few months, but we’ve been hard at work. Today I’d like to announce a few new things that we’ve been working on:
Don’t Starve: Hamlet
The first thing to announce is that we’ve been working on another Don’t Starve singleplayer DLC! Wilson has found the portal to the origins of the Pigmen, and he’s off to explore their civilization. There may be some bushwhacking and tomb raiding involved, too.
Hamlet will be available in Q1/Q2 2018. More information will be shown as we get closer to launch.
You can check out the store page for screenshots and wishlist it here.
Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked Content Update
We have a little surprise for you: Shipwrecked is getting more content! We have added the following to the game as a free update.
In order to test these changes, we’ve put it into a Steam branch called “beta” with the password “shipwreckedbeta”, which is available now. Here are instructions on how to access the beta: http://support.kleientertainment.com/customer/portal/articles/2873712

Don’t Starve Together: The Forge
In addition to the singleplayer DLC, we are also announcing that we are working on a series of events for Don’t Starve Together. DST events are limited-time play modes that create a new way to play with the cast of Don’t Starve. They serve as a way to mix up the experience, allowing us to try crazy new things without breaking the core game. Events are free for everyone who owns DST to play and will be coming in November.
With the Ancient Gateway activated our survivors now find themselves trapped in a hostile world of fire and battle. They’ll need to team up to defeat the Battlemaster’s army and his champion, the Grand Forge Boarrior, if they have any hopes of returning home. Here’s what’s in store in Don’t Starve’s first event, The Forge:
- 6-player co-op challenge, where the goal is to try and defeat the Grand Forge Boarrior in an arena. The only way to survive will be to work together.
- New creatures and bosses with their own attack patterns.
- New character traits for all characters, each with their own bonuses during combat.
- New weapons, armor, items, and combat abilities to help you survive the onslaught.
Players who participate in the event will also be eligible to earn event specific skins. For the skin system, we are doing several changes:
- Far more skins will drop for players than ever before (by a factor of 4x or more!)
- There’s a new trader in town! If you get duplicates, you will be able to break them down to scrap and craft them into event items.
- The event features event-time skin drops, including the Warrior Skin Set, putting each character in grizzled gladiator-wear.
- In addition to the chance of receiving them as drops, players will have the option to purchase a single character’s Warrior Skin Set for $2.99, or the entire Warrior Skin Set collection for $12.99.
- The nature of the skins themselves will not change, they are still purely cosmetic and optional. However, purchase of the Warrior Set will help us fund further content and events like this one.
We hope that with this mechanism, we can both continue creating great free content while also supporting the development team. In addition, this method of funding allows us to provide content to all our players, instead of splitting the player community if we implemented it with a DLC paywall.
This is just the first of many experiments we intend to run, and we would love your feedback! We have many ideas for events, and we would love to know what you would liketo see.
And more!
Besides events, we will also continue working on Quality of Life improvements and bug fixes.
And finally, a new challenger has arrived in Don’t Starve Together, and she is coming to all platforms and is available on Steam now!
Armed with her indomitable spirit and trusty mending tape, Winona seems to have been plucked straight off the factory line and dropped into the world of Don’t Starve for something or someone’s unfathomable amusement. There may be more to her arrival than it appears, however, as more than a few eyes will be watching the next move of the newest survivor…
Whew, that’s it! Once again, thank you for your support of our games!
F.A.Q.
When is Hamlet coming?
We estimate Q1/Q2 next year, but as always, we’ll keep working until we feel it’s ready!
Why not sell DLC for Don’t Starve Together instead of skins?
DST is a multiplayer game, and we decided that we want everyone to be able to play, instead of splitting the community. We hope that in this way, we can continue to develop updates for the game while allowing everyone to enjoy it.
When is The Forge being released?
We are aiming to release it this November.
Are the events coming to console?
The events are going to launch first on PC, but we are looking into bringing them to other platforms at a later date.
Willow the Fire...fighter?
Willow is an interesting character, because she is not good at starting fires, yet people think she is. She gets a lighter, but torches are easy to craft. Anyone can grab a torch and ignite something. She's not better at it than anyone else. Her fires aren't bigger, don't spread faster, or anything. Given the choice between Willow with her lighter, and Wickerbottom reading The End is Nigh, I can tell you who's gonna burn your base down, and she doesn't have pigtails. Heck, with Wolfgang's mighty speed buff, he can light fires faster than Willow, as can an overcharged WX-78 (after Wickerbottom read The End is Nigh).
What's interesting is that Willow is good at stopping fires. She has 3 seconds of fire damage immunity, half fire damage, and she's entirely immune to the burning from putting out smouldering objects. She can run into a burning base, collect everything that's catching on fire, and save more than any other character. She'll get sanity from doing so, and won't lose nearly as much health. All she has to do is momentarily dart out of the flames, and she's got 3 more seconds of fire suppression. She might even be able to go into smouldering chests, to grab ice, where other characters would burn to death trying to extinguish the chest to access it.
So it's really bizarre that she's "the character who burns down your base." Is it because she starts with a lighter, and griefers are just so stupid they can't even craft a torch? No, I think it's entirely our assumptions about her. Purely from her dialog, and her delight at being near fire and burning things, it leads us to assume she's the best for starting fires, and always use her to do so. It's actually really good, because people who only care about hurting others (not the game) will make the mistake of picking her, then be less effective, and more vulnerable to being outclassed by the better characters. People who hide their fear of caring about anything behind self-deprecatory humor, they pick Willow, and their days are numbered. If they picked Wigfrid they could linger longer, and make life harder for more people.
Y'know unless someone actually points it out, then everyone would know Willow's not who they should use to grief, but hey, who'd be stupid enough to do that?
So that makes Willow the best firefighter, for literal flames, and for containing destructive sprees by malicious players.
Who's Your favourite Character (As for now)?
You can choose what You think. It's an open thread.
Showcase for tidy bases [2]
Since the first one is archived I wanted to open up a new one. I'm also already busy planning new projects and want to rebuild my base a third time. I drew out the layout for my new base and have some other plans.
Also, here is the old one for everyone to take a look. There are a lot of creative bases and projects, so it's worth visiting:

[?] Disable Twiggy Trees HOW??
I HATE Twiggy Trees, they are annoying, you have to wait for them to drop twigs or chop them down, and the spacing required is just dumb.
Is there a way to make it so Twiggy Trees NEVER spawn? Console Command? World Settings? Mod? Edit a file?
I'm ok with everything else in the game, just not Twiggy Trees - I loathe Frogs too, but when thinking about Frogs vs Twiggy Trees, I'd rather deal with a thousand frogs than twiggy trees.
Please, if there is a way, please tell me or show me how. And Devs, please add in Resource Variants in World Settings to be turned on/off.
