I ran steam and Don't Starve Together(Release v251036) on Ubuntu 16.04, though it can work but it can't display Chinese Character right, is it because of my system or the game itself, can anybody help? Note that I didn't intall any extra mod.

Questions about the moonstone event
Hello, I have some quiestions about the moonstone event, as I couldn't find answers after searching, nor is the wikia too detailed about it.
So, long story short: in my solo world I prepaired for the event, got the barriers around the moon stone and placed the star caller's staff in it. There were 15 pig houses around it to be able to farm pig skin and/or moon rocks. However, I didn't go to do the event, but was busy elsewhere (really far from there) during full moon. When I got there a few days later, the staff was turned into the moon caller's staff and there were petrified hounds around it.
So my questions:
As it seems, the moon stone event starts even if the area is not loaded and there are no players nearby? And if so, is that intended?
As to my experiences, normally there are 6 attacking monsters: 3 hounds and 3 werepigs (and new ones come each time one dies). But this time there were 15 frozen hounds, but no werepigs. What's the reason for this? No pigs, just hounds, but their number is exactely the same as the pig houses there (coincidence)? Maybe those pigs there got activated, but turned into hounds? By some shenanigans as the area wasn't actually loaded?
If you know some answers, thanks in advance!

Rethinking Base Design et al
I just had this thought yesterday and am exploring a new concept for me.
Mobs can be blocked using marble statues and/or fossils and this changes the dynamics of base design in my opinion. Lately my focus in DST has been all about transportation efficiency since time is one of the elements in the game that is such a drain. This is typically resolved through wormholes, cobblestone roads, teleportation and other means.
I was thinking about building a base in my solo world that is connected to 2-3 land masses by traversing water using the lazy explorer. The base will be fairly small with a wall that nothing other than a Giant can get through, and I will travel mainly out of base by going across the water where the real base will be. Obviously this is not an early game strategy but in games with 500+ days you have tremendous resources, I can fabricate endless amounts of lazy explorers (have 4 walrus camps), otherwise I can just hammer a section to get out and replace it when the hounds come. If I am at the tip will hounds spawn across the water though?
Another project I'm working on is a road network from cave entrance to ruins that will shut out shadow monsters, monkeys and depth worms. At the end of the road is a section of about 100 tooth traps for the shadow monkeys (soon plan to add Houndius Shootius array) and just beyond that a barrier for all the other shadow monsters. This will be done in cobblestone as well. The path isn't too long as I use a lazy explorer as a shortcut for the first piece, it will take a lot of work but pays off over time.
A "problem" if you can call it that, is having too many resources and not knowing what to with it. I have 500+ gears, more thulecite and green gems then I know what to do with and so much healing stuff that dragon chests are over flowing. My solo world is approaching 2,000 days, about the only thing I don't have in abundance is Houndius Shootius (max is 32?), got about 14-15 of those.

How do you know about don't starve and do you have some story about it?
hello everyone
today, I want to talk about the story of me with Don't Starve
But first, I want to apologize for my bad English because (I'm from Vietnam)
Don't Starve holds a special place in my heart, I can say it is my childhood.
I remember when I was a kid, at that time I don't know much about video game and one day, I found Don't Starve on the Chrome web store

It has a time-limited so after 20 minutes, I automatically die :V
but I don't know why I keep playing again and again and again... but I never get bored (kinda strange for a kid but who care)
every day the first thing I do is go to the don't starve website to see news about a new update, waiting for the new trailer (ahhh, I miss the old don't starve website)
I remember when Klei add cave, there is a bug that when you enter the cave, the timer reset (so you can play more than 20 minutes)
when I know about that bug, my goal at the time was to unlock willow (because every time I die, the only thing I know about Willow is "there is a character to unlock")... But I never have a chance to unlock her (idk why) and then one they the Klei remove the chrome version...
keep in mind that at that time I just a kid (the naive one), I don't know what copyright game is neither crack :V , the only thing I know about Steam is the DS Workshop so I end up watching all the DS video on youtube (mostly the Mod Spotlight by JaR Dev)
and several years later we have Don't Starve Together, at that time there is an event or something like that, you sign in for something I can remember
all I remember is one day I have an email form Klei and ít is my happiest day! I have been selected to participate in the Don't Starve Together closed beta (Without it, maybe I would never know anything about steam beside the steam workshop)
because I live in Vietnam, It is very difficult to buy a steam wallet. Especially to me because I'm not old enough to set up a bank account and there isn't a thing called "ask parents for money to buy a game" (And my parents didn't know much about video games, steam,...)
But after all that Klei gave to me
I can't just sit here playing DST, I want to buy the game myself, and I did!
and now I have DS, RoG, and SW in my steam library 
in the end, I just want to say thanks to Klei for making this game! it means a lot to me. What about you guy? How do you know about don't starve and do you have some story about it?

Formal skins and Classic Curio Chests
Does formal skins even drop? I've getting skins in DST for about 2 years and got only 3 Maxwell's suits, 2 Winona's dresses and GoH Winona. It seems 10 original formal sets have the rarest drop chances. And look at the prices in Market! 1.5 years ago shadow ones was the most expencive, but now we have Classic Curio Chests. No, really, does anyone got something non-shadow from these chests?

Need help(make image with character only)
Hi. I am right now working on adding several characters on an image I have but I don't know how to make it so that I can make a large screenshot with the characters(with 1 backgroundcolor) so that I can copy it and remove the background and make it so that they have different clothes and skins and maybe have it so that they use one of the emotes.
The characters are going to be seperated so it's not like one is behind another.

My dear Wolfgang managed to trap himself while being sane and of course I mocked him by taking a screenshot and weeks later finding myself trapped in this too while being sane.

Beefalo herd killed by deerclops
Today something weird happened. Since i have plenty of beefalo herds on the map i thought about to get some help of two of the closest herds to help me kill deerclops and also get alot of meat. deerclops killed all the herds in the biome (i think). Deerclops died and all is well. I kinda regret my desicion beacause the other beefaloherd is far away but i was about to lure them with beefalo horn at spring anyways.
Spring arrives and i go gather some grass in the beefalo massacre biom and the herds are back??????????????. They have newborns, Im realy confused. I checked the area before and couldnt find a single beefalo. Is there any new update im not aware about? Can somebody plz shed some light on this.

Fighting the compulsion to acquire more stuff
I'm becoming a slave to accumulating gems and thulecite. Every 20 or so days it is time to kill Fuelweaver and then raid the ruins once more. It's weird but at this point I'm not doing it just to get more, it's because I feel for some strange reason that if I miss an opportunity I'm not doing my duty. The only reason to keep going is to get a few more Houndius Shootius for the caves, hopefully after that I can stop because it is a drain on time and other DST projects in my world. Projects like building a network of roads both above and below for instance.

Why can't I use my skin?!
When I am ready to make a wooden armor with skin, and I chose the skin , and make it, and nothing happened. Just the ordinary stuff came out. Who can tell me why? Oh my poor English
