Since the first one is archived I wanted to open up a new one. I'm also already busy planning new projects and want to rebuild my base a third time. I drew out the layout for my new base and have some other plans.

Also, here is the old one for everyone to take a look. There are a lot of creative bases and projects, so it's worth visiting:

Here's what happened.

A while ago game desided to "not allow" me to make my own servers. Basically the server would be shown as "Day 1". 

4 months ago i had my computer repeaired and guy also checked and fixed it in terms of viruses and all that stuff. When I got it back i was able to make my own worlds (that wouldn't glich out) again. For some reason it started to happen again. Now I'm sure that this is the problem on my part but I have no idea how to fix this.

Tips on how to be Courteous to Fellow Players

Now this thread is not meant to call anyone out, nor is it about venting your frustrations over mistakes noobs make. These are tips aimed more at showing ways of being considerate than improving your skill at the game. 

I don't have a lot of time for playing computer games, so when I play DST I tend to hop on a random server and help out all I can before I have to leave (sometimes hosting my own server if I can't find one, which tends to be lonely), and I thought it would be nice to share ways I've found of not being a liability and not getting on peoples bad sides. I'd like to see other peoples tips too, in case there's some I've missed or just haven't thought of. So here's mine :3

  • Don't ask where the Base is Right After Joining: This one's simple, but it goes a long way in not annoying people. Now I know that when you first enter a server you want to know where you can come to at night to cook and spam the /dance emote, but be patient. If you aren't given directions or offered an escort, explore, gather some things, get your bearings. People will respect you more if you survive a few days before asking where the base is located. Who knows, you may even find it on your own!
  • Don't Pick Everything: When first entering one of the many randomly generated islands, our brains tend to immediately slip into PICK ALL THE THINGS mode, especially those of us who've spent a fair amount of time in the single player game. However, when playing in multipayer, one has to stop and think, "Hey, if I systematically pick every bit of flint, grass, twigs, and food from around the portal in a ten mile radius, then there won't be anything left for new players!" Please, be considerate. How can you expect new players to survive a few days if they can't even scrounge up enough for a torch?
  • Drop some Flint by the Portal: It's a small thing that'll help out people just entering the server. You don't even have to go out of the way to do it; if you happen to be pasing by the portal and have some flint to spare, just drop some by it, or make a pickaxe to leave behind so they can collect their own. Heck, I've heard of people making a chest by the portal containing equipment like torches, rabbit earmuffs, and pickaxes to help new players out.
  • Don't Enter in Winter or Summer: Pay attention to the day and season of the server you're joining. If you want to join in a difficult season for some extra challenge, go ahead. Just don't expect everyone to drop what they're doing to help you out.
  • If you don't want Strangers, set a Password: You'd think this one would be a no brainer, but I've heard a lot of stories of people joining servers just to be kicked the moment they enter. I assume it only happens when someone doesn't know that they can make a password for they're server, but still, it's rude.
  • Drop your Stuff Before you Leave: Before you leave a server, it's nice to drop your items on the ground so others can use them. If you're playing with familiar people on a server you know you'll be on again, you can keep your equipment. In any case it's still rude to leave with gears, a big stack of silk, or any other important items still in your inventory, selfishly taking them out of reach of the unfortunate players left on the server.
  • Keep Busy: Look around the base. Does it still need some drying racks? A crockpot? Some farms? Do the traps need to be emptyed? Are you low on wood? Look around for things that need to be done, and if you're having trouble finding something, it never hurts to ask. No one likes a leach.

So here is tha way I get opalstaff by fire trees.Mobs get hurts in fire.They couldn't destroy the moonbase.

Hey, I'm wondering if it's possible to rollback to day 1 on my server. We really like the gen and basically wanted to restart the same world with different characters.

I found some info about this, but it didn't work for me. 

 

print(TheWorld.meta.seed)

You can apply a seed to your world generation by editing Steam\steamapps\common\Don't Starve Together\data\scripts\worldgen_main.lua

You edit this part by replacing the X's with your seed and removing the 2 dashes before SEED. It should come up as line 4 if you're using notepad++ or something similar.

--SEED = XXXXXXXXX -- Force roads test level 3

 

Does this method still work? I thought I did it correctly but maybe I didn't. The command c_rollback(#ofdays) works, but only for the default 4-5 days it saves.

I bought the random 3 pack of blind boxes and these were my pulls not sure of the Odds of this happening but.......

 

I am speechless..I really wanted Maxwell and knew the odds of pulling him were low. And I wanted an normal bunny for my Fiance....

Not only did I pull both but they were both gold rare!!! If anyone can calculate the odds of this happening let me know XD

The blindbox box describes Maxwell as a demon but with the timeskip with the reign of Charlie, does that description fit Max?

but i wanna trade the ensemble in for spools so i can get either wx's or wigfrid's verdant skin

if i trade pieces of an ensemble, will i lose the reward?

Comedy Marble Statue

I can't find it mentioned anywhere that anybody has noticed that the Comedy variant of the queen marble statue has her holding the same staff associated with Metheus and all. I never even saw this variant until today even though I've played over a hundred hours of ANR.

Metheus as a playable character

Hello everyone I was playing don’t starve together and was just trying to find my way around the ruins and just happened to start thinking about Metheus and what if he was a playable character. I know it’s a bit of a stretch to think he’ll become a playable character but there really isn’t a reason that I know of that would make klei think no way we will make him a character. 

So first things first the M in his name which isn’t really a problem if you think about it sure most character names start with W but we still have Maxwell even though his name was William it’s Maxwell now.

Now lets talk about what his stats would be and how his abilities would work. 

Hp 125

Hng 175

Snty 200

I don’t really have much reason why I chose those stats I just thought they were a little different to the other characters in the game and would make things a little more interesting when choosing him. 

Now onto his unique abilities. Firstly he would be afraid of the daylight so he would lose sanity when exploring in daylight. Perhaps this could be countered slightly with umbrellas or hats. He would also regenerate sanity during night time.

Secondly when he becomes insane he could shed nightmare fuel or perhaps when he takes damage he has a slight chance of dropping nightmare fuel.

Finally his last ability would allow him to craft thulacite weapons and gear with needing to be next to a pseudo science machine. 

Oh also I almost forgot his appearance. So I think he could look almost insect like or bug like. I think this would make him very appealing as a character because the only characters we’ve seen that aren’t human looking are Webber, Wilbur and woody in his were beaver state.

so anyway that’s my thoughts on what I would like the next DST character to be like I also would like to hear your feedback and suggestions also feel free to post your own character concepts I’d love to read them
