Hello everyone, 

last week before the Hallowed Nights event ended, I made a little experiment. Thanks to the ANR and its ruins regen, I realized that I had many stacks of unneeded frazzled wires, which gave me an idea. I rushed a few ruins' clearing and collected enough of these trinkets to fill a whole krampus sack.

And I went and traded them all to the Pig King, all at once. During the Hallowed Nights. 

I wanted to test how (if) my computer can handle all the loot on the ground. I recorded (most of) the process and uploaded the video so you can watch how this worked out if you're interested:

I don't regret it. Neither the almost 15 minutes that it took to give all the trinkets, nor the next 2 hours it took to collect the loot... after all, it was pretty funny. 

Here are a few statistics (most of them can be seen at the end of the video, but I'll put them here for an easier access):

The time it took: 15 in-game days, around 2,5 real life hours.

I had 560 frazzled wires.

Gold: 2820 (most likely 2800 and I miscounted them in the video)

Candies: uhhh... much. Around 8,75 candy bags with full stacks, plus some more.

Hound attacks: 3 or 4, I don't remember exactely. The last one already in summer

As a summary, I think I'm pretty pleased. Neither the game nor my computer crashed and even I am still sane somehow. Don't know how. Though I really didn't expect it to be that long, even Maxwell would have got bored of that... (and I was bored during it too, but I carried on and succeeded! For science.)

The nights are growing colder, and a distinctive holiday cheer has permeated the air. That can only mean one thing - Winter’s Feast is upon us! Take a break from enduring a hostile world to spread some holiday cheer. You could enjoy a tasty sugar cookie and decorate a tree or two… or three. Be wary though… something terrible lurks nearby, watching our survivors' every move with laser-like focus.

• Winter’s Feast is here!  The in-game event will be automatically enabled for worlds with Events set to Auto (default).
• Improved boot time:
  • Note for modders: data/scripts/* has been moved to data/databundles/scripts.zip.
  • See data/scripts_readme.txt for for info.
• Memory optimizations.
• Improved autocomplete behaviour.
• Added autocomplete options to client.ini for chat and console input:
  • In client.ini, under the [MISC] category, add:
    • console_autocomplete = tab_enter
    • chat_autocomplete = tab_enter
  • Values for these are:
    • tab_enter - both tab and enter will apply the selected word
    • tab - only tab will apply the selected word
    • enter - only enter will apply the selected word
    • mouseonly - you will need to click on a word to apply it
    • disabled - the auto complete prompt will be disabled
• Improved Curio Cabinet UI:
  • Filter buttons now apply to all menu items.
  • Filter selections will now be remembered.
  • Toggling filters will no longer deselect the current item.
  • Improved screen navigation for controllers.
• Added new option to sort server browser by relevance.

 

Bug Fixes

• Fixed bug where Hallowed Nights trinkets could still be dug up from Graves when the event is not active.
• Prevent crash when client.ini contains invalid audio settings.

Hello i was playing DST recently and i encountered a griefer and he wasnt friendly at all it was on Klei Server tho so i couldnt kick him and i want to ask you Klei

What are we gonna about griefers if there is even more griefers ?

They just come and destroy the whole game with no feelings they even know that DST doesn't have ban system so they swear and destroy others work

then they just disconnect and im starting to think that those griefers don't like klei games at all they just want to ruin them.

This is sad and truthful story which can't be solved maybe in future there will be ban system which will stop them from griefing on servers

Let's erase griefers from DST once for all!

The DST Skins Checklist has been designed to help you more easily keep track of your DST skins collection.  This can be done by manually checking off items or by directly syncing the checklist with your inventory on Steam.  

The layout is fairly rustic, but it lets you view, filter, and search the skins you own, have duplicates of, or are missing in the game.  All save data is stored locally on your computer (in your browser's Local Storage).

The checklist is a single HTML file (images are all embedded) and can be used online or from your desktop:

I originally made this for my friends and I to keep track of our skins collection, but I thought I'd also share it here.  The layout is fairly rustic, however, it does its job.

The checklist lets you save & filter items based on collection, character, color, rarity, and whether you own an item or not.  I've also included links to each skin's Steam page.

You can view the code, download, or preview the checklist here:

To use, save the HTML file to your computer and open it with your browser.  Alternatively, you can use the live preview link above, but Google Drive is discontinuing HTML web hosting at the end of August; so, the preview will cease to work after then.

The skin images are embedded (via base64 encoding) into the HTML file, so the file size is ~1.25MB.  Saving uses the Local Storage of your browser, so your save will be lost if you clear your browser's cache and/or site data.  Javascript also needs to be enabled to use the interactive features.

I've been thinking for a while about some of the more inefficient ways to farm certain items and have been wondering what other people can think of. This isn't meant to troll, just for a laugh or two.

So far I have:

• Ashes - Tap into your inner Runescape player and build a bunch of campfires, when they go out, you get an ash
• Living Logs - Chop a bunch of birchnut trees until a Poison Birchnut Tree spawns. Run away for a bit until it despawns, then chop down the tree and dig the stump, which should give a living log.
• Jet Feathers - Pengulls sometimes drop jet feathers, and if you go to their nests you may find that another mob had killed them for you, and left 1 or 2 feathers.

I'd love to hear your own inefficient advice for this game.

Atm Klaus is spawning in my mega base at the PK which is kinda inconvienent. Right now I have to delete the sack and then spawn it elsewhere but as soon as I kill Klaus the sack respawns immedietly

Atm Klaus is spawning in my mega base at the PK which is kinda inconvienent. Right now I have to delete the sack and then spawn it elsewhere but as soon as I kill Klaus the sack respawns immedietly

Klaus seems more related to Deerclops instead of the Krampus. As we know when something dies, its eyes are replaced by x marks. Klaus has one x mark only. Also, look at his claws, his head and legs, they all resemble Deerclops' corresponding limbs. Klaus could have been a special Deerclops that was cursed by something or someone. So, any theories from you guys?
