Klei recently released Willow's update but yet didn't announce the next character who's going to get an update. Got any reasons why a specific character should be updated next?

WX-78: The Wicker-less Overcharge Experience
WX in Single-Player Don't Starve has an abundance of methods to have consistent overcharge.
- Thunderbirds in Hamlet
- Hurricane Season from SW
- Moslings in RoG
- Classic Ruins Charging Station for base game
- Telelocator Stave methods in base-game DS.
For only 16 Lightning Strikes, WX can easily get 40-60-80 days worth of overcharge in the matter of minutes for very little cost. DST's WX, on the other hand, received a change to his overcharge way back when, where the more WX is striked by lightning, the less charge he gets out of it. For two Wickerbottom books, you can get easily get about 20 days of overcharge, making it fairly balanced in comparison to before, but causes WX to rely on Wickerbottom for his charge.
Some more details here on the rates, specifically for Wickerbottom's book from CarlZalph's post:
For if you read Wickerbottom books in succession:
Here's a more complete table showing all of the number of reads, up to using 3 books:

Much more value doing it this way, though you'll want some sort of sanity regeneration like wearing the bee queen hat doing it.
DST Counterpart
Unlike his Single-player counterpart, WX only has three reliable ways of getting overcharged:
- Wickerbottom's The End is Nigh
- Moslings during Spring.
- Telelocator Staves.
I wanted to figure out a way to always be overcharged without relying on Wickerbottom, as I play do play DST solo for a large chunk of my own time.
Given what's available, The End is Nigh is obviously the best way for WX to gain overcharge, but it's not possible if you play DST solo like me (unless you use an alt, which kinda defeats the purpose of this post).
Moslings during Spring can maybe net WX 30 days worth of overcharge, but you're going to have to pen in ~20 moslings to get adequate charge. It would also take either a full day to get 10 days worth of charge, or 2 full days to get 15 days worth of charge. Via Moslings, you'd be able to get 15 days of charge in Spring (the first 5 are getting your 20 Moslings), and at the end of the season, get yourself another 15 days worth of charge for the Summer, to which the Moslings would despawn.
With Autumn and Winter being the only seasons where WX is charge-less, you'd have to rely on Telelocator Staves. However, I was really discouraged after doing the math to see how many Telelocator Staves I would need to maintain overcharge.
Assuming I did 30 days worth of overcharge via Moslings (15 days in Spring, and 15 days for Summer) this is what the rest of the year would have looked like:
- For 40 days worth of "ideal" charge, it would cost me 42 Telelocator staves [78 Living Logs, 78 Purple Gems, 156 Nightmare Fuel] (10 days Autumn, another 10 days in Autumn, 15 in Winter, and the first 5 days of Spring).
- For 40 days worth of "frugal" charge, it would cost me about 23 Telelocator Staves [46 Living Logs, 46 Purple Gems, 92 Nightmare Fuel] (if I charged myself every 5 days) .
My math:
Ideal Charge Math:
10 days Autumn, 10 more days Autumn, 15 Winter, first 5 days of Spring translates to 3 reads + 3 reads + 6 reads + 1 read = 13 reads
13 reads * 16 lightning strikes = 208 total strikes
208 total strikes / 5 strikers per staff = 41.6 total Telelocator Staffs (Rounded up to 42)
Frugal Charge Math:
Looked at second chart to see avg. 40 days charge, got 7 reads.
7 reads * 16 lightning strikes = 112 total lightning strikes
112 total strikes / 5 strikes per staff = 22.4 total Telelocator Staffs (Rounded up to 23)
Conclusion
While I could do this, too much of my time would be spent gathering the resources to do this, and not enough time to actually enjoy being overcharged, even for a late-game player like myself (assuming I don't change characters, as that's typically my motto and would defeat the purpose of this post as well. Changing characters as WX also costs gears since he drops them upon a despawn at the same rates as if he died. I don't have much gears in the first place as WX since I'm always using them).
This was the best I could come up to minimize the costs for a legitimate, year-round overcharge as WX, and my ultimate conclusion was that if I really wanted overcharge through Telelocator Staves, I would have to plan those charge sessions. It's better to be overcharged sparingly and would probably only be of interest to me during Winter to avoid freezing.
Not only that, Telelocator Staves and Foci are actually a great method of transportation on a server, since standing in the center of one focus will transport you to another focus instead of the one you're standing under (learned this from reddit), making me even more reluctant to wanting to use the Staves to charge WX.
Why bring this up?
It's because WX will eventually get a rework, and the New NEW Reign beta that's coming soon may or may not bring forth alternative methods of summoning lightning strikes that WX can utilize. I'd love to see more viable ways for WX to gain overcharge, and I'm of course not asking for something that's on par with Wickerbottom's The End is Nigh. Rather, it'd be something to expand the methods for which a WX has to overcharge himself, just like his single-player counterpart. By no means am I saying for the recursive function of WX's overcharge to change, as I think it's balanced as is.
I'd be great if I could be an Independent Robot that don't need no Wickerbottom to charge himself throughout the year and wanted to voice my input on this particular area as I've gotten to 1145 days almost solely as WX (only ~2 days were Wendy). In this world, I was able to always be overcharged for a relatively little, but time-consuming cost thanks to a bug feature in the game (8 days of the 70 days were spent charging myself throughout the year).
What are people's thoughts on this? I think people are going to disagree with me on this one a lot though.
TLDR:
More options/ways for WX to solo overcharge himself like his single-player counterpart would be nice. WX was never nerfed in DS, but has several ways of gaining overcharge, ie, Thunderbirds, Moslings, Hurricane Season, Ruins Charge Station, and Telelocator Staves for 40-60-80 days worth of charge. In DST, it's costs an arm and a leg to do the same thing. I was able to always be overcharged in a solo Day 1145 world, but it was because of a bug feature present in the game.
Server Bug
I can't play on some servers it's not working well. Do you guys have any solves
Plz klei update the Wardrobe
what is the point to have presets saved if you can only use them when starting new world, plz let us use our presets on wardrobe too.
about forge, gorge and seasonal skins dropping
should the be dropped outside of event? they were supposed to be special skins that we get playing on the event only, i dont even want them dropping since you cannot fuse them, its just a waste of skin if you already have hem or bought the package
Recipe rebalance
Klei should rebalance some craft recipe of items, structures. Bat Bat for example always bother me that it so hard to craft and has only 150 durability, five bat wings really hard to get, need goo RNG to even get 5 bat wings when killing many bats sometimes. Some player said cat tail whip is too expensive for it cost, but it can have just more durability instead. Weather pain would be nice if you can refuel with Goose feathers for may be 3 to 5 extra uses; goat horns hard to come but Goose feather you can get plenty while is limited to something like 60 amount every spring so would be reasonable.
Don't starve short film
I was looking through the comments on the willow video, and every comment asking Klei to make a short film had been tagged by Klei. Think it means anything? I hope it does!
What would you like to see in the next character shorts?
I pretty sure I'm not the only one that thinks that the Willow short was a little disappointing. I liked all the shorts so far, but they didn't seem to answer a whole lot of questions, besides the ones that we already knew or assumed the answer to (Winona worked in the factory and Charlie is her sister, Willow is an orphan, etc.) I was hoping that these shorts would give a solid backstory to everybody, but that doesn't seem like the case.
In the Winona short, it's extremely obvious that the figure that got sucked through that portal was Wagstaff, but it didn't seem to actually confirm it.
I was super confused in the Willow short, wondering why a shadow creature seemed to be trying to kill specifically her, and why bernie scared it away, and I really wanted to know how she got in the constant.
It's hard putting my thoughts into words, but I hope I got my point across.
What do you guys want to see in the upcoming shorts?
Support answer waiting time
What's the typical support answer time for DST? I'm waiting for three days already.
Klei helped inspire Subnautica
So I'm watching a GDC video about Subnautica with one of the developers talking about the game, it's development ect. One thing that caught me by surprise was that Don't Starve was one of the inspirations for their game. They even made a reference to one of Klei's devs at GDC from a few years back.
Even if they played a fairly minor role, it's neat seeing one of my favorite games inspiring another one of my favorite games. The video is below if anyone else is interested. Relevant info can be found at around 4:34.
Just a silly idea for Wigfrid Rework
I just had a thought that maybe she could get a staff that summoned a pegasus, or alicorn, to come fight with her? It could come down from the sky with lighting or something and Wigfrid could mount it like a beefalo and use her weapons while riding it. The pegasus could possibly deal damage by kicking enemies or even shooting magic at them.
It's just something interesting I thought of I doubt it'd be possible since it seems a bit complicated aha!
Showing off your outfits [2]
Hi all. The old topic was archived in early 2017, but I thought it'd be a good idea to bring it back. There have been a ton of content since and quite a bit of skins. Personally I really enjoyed the Victorian collection but others were good as well. Well, if you got any cool outfit sets you wish to share - post it here!
I'll start
Colonel Woodie of The Royal Canadian Regiment
Shadow smith Winona
XIX century colonial governor Wilhelm P. Higgsenburgh
Severely beaten yet still dapper Wilson
don't starve woodie lore?
Houndius Shootius will target Bernie
it's happened while willow was insane and Bernie was fighting shadow monsters near shootiuses, which shot at bernie

Underpowered Weapons, and how to fix them
So, as everyone at this point knows, there are a big handful of tools and items that literally no one uses. Whether they be too expensive for their worth or them being completely overshadowed by others. So, here is a quick list that I have compiled, along with my recommendations on how each item could be balanced so it has a fair shot to be considered viable.
Survival Tab:
Healing Salve:
Ever since the release of Wortox, practically every healing item in the game became useless. The Healing salve is the biggest loss because it heals as much as one soul. Also, butterfly wings exist, so unless you're doing a Winter-Only world, you don't have a reason to craft something that heals 20 HP, since you can easily get 5+ butterfly wings during 1 day of hanging around flowers.
Recommendation: Raise the HP healed to 30.
Honey Poultice:
This is in the same boat as the Healing Salve, ie overshadowed by Wortox, and butterfly wings to an extent.
Recommendation: Raise the HP healed to 40.
Piggyback:
It's a great idea on paper, and is actually okay as an item. However, it's severely underused.
Recommendation: Increase the Piggyback's inventory space to match the Krampus Sack, and keep the movement speed nerf.
Insulated Pack:
It's an item that requires you to kill a boss monster (that doesn't spawn until 1 full year has passed, mind you) so it doesn't have any real reason to *not* be an upgrade to the normal backpack.
Recommendation: Increase the Insulated Pack's inventory space to match the backpack.
Fight Tab:
Tail o' Three Cats:
It has an interesting concept, however no one ever uses this because it's gimmick of removing aggro is a tad wonky, coupled with the fact that it only has 150 durability, despite it's high cost to craft.
Recommendation:
-Increase durability to 400
-Increase chance to de-aggro mobs to 75% chance per hit.
All Darts:
Darts, at the moment, are a complete waste of resources to craft because they only deal 100 damage each, which sounds a lot but keep in mind that it only takes 3 spear hits to do the same amount.
Recommendation: Increase the amount of Darts made per craft to 3.
Magic Tab:
Night Light:
It's cost to craft compared to it's usage is absolute garbage. At the moment, it's basically just a garbage bin for nightmare fuel, and even that isn't effective because said nightmare fuel doesn't even fuel it for that long.
Recommendation: Allow it to be used as a late-game firepit.
-1 nightmarefuel fuels it for 1 day (8 minutes)
-Allow the ability to cook on it.
Night Armor:
It breaks too easily, given it's cost.
Recommendation:
-Increase it's durability much higher than a log suit / football helmet (ex: 900-1000?)
-Increase the sanity drained when attacked (a hound, for example, only takes away 1 sanity per hit, perhaps we can make this something like 5 or 10?
Bat Bat:
It's durability is 75, and considering it's cost, that's so doo doo. Granted, you can regain a massive amount of HP with it so buffing it's durability might not be the best option, so the clear option is to lower it's cost.
Recommendation: Change the Recipe to [2 Bat Wings / 2 Living Log] (from 5 Bat Wings / 2 Living Logs / 1 Purple Gem)
Dress Tab:
Rain Hat:
Right now, the meta against the rain is umbrella + football helmet, which provides 100% protection. This discourages the use of *any* other wetness protection item in the game. No one even bothers using this for lightning protection as the Eyebrella can do that.
Recommendation: Increase the Rain Hat's wetness resistance to 90%.
Rain Coat:
It's in the exact same boat as the rain hat. Doubly so because it requires 2 tentacle spots to craft, for some reason.
Recommendation:
-Change the recipe to [2 Moleworms, 2 rope, 2 bone shard.] (from 2 Tentacle Spots, 2 rope, 2 bone shard)-Change the wetness resistance to 90%. (I did a goof and didn't know it is currently 100%.)
Dapper Vest:
No one ever even thinks about crafting this, save for when you need it to craft the Hibearnation vest. How do we fix this? Make it a discount Tam-O-Shanter.
Recommendation: Increase the Sanity gain to match the Tam-O-Shanter.
Ancient Tab:
Pick/Axe:
It's only problem is it's relatively low durability. The only time you'd use this is if you find it in a chest. If the durability was buffed, it could very well be the go-to tool for everyday tasks during late-game.
Recommendation: Greatly increase the durability (750?)
Thulecite Club:
It's more expensive than a Dark Sword, but it's also worse than a Dark sword. It costs 3 living logs, 4 thulecite, and 4 nightmare fuel to craft, as opposed to the simple 1 living log and 5 nightmare fuel of the dark sword. If we were to look at the crafting recipes, then the Club should practically be an upgrade to the Dark Sword.
Recommendation:
-Increase it's melee damage to match the Dark Sword (leave the shadow tentacle damage unchanged)
-Increase it's Durability to 250 (from 150)
Houndius Shootius:
Winona was made for the sole reason to provide an early-game Shootius. However, if we think about this, that just makes this structure entirely useless.
Recommendation: Increase the Houndius Shootius' damage to 150 (able to 1-shot hounds.)
If I missed anything, tell me below and I'll throw them into the spoiler below.
