Sweet goodness, you nuts are FINALLY going to do it.  After all the threads made, ideas suggested, concept mods created... You're finally going to go fix the old characters.  I honestly don't know what to say.  Damn.  Well, if you need any ideas on how the beaver/Woodie could get fixed, please go read some of those old thread topics, there was some really good ideas in there.  I'm really hoping you guys do this right, I don't think I could handle the sadness if you guys went and wrecked Woodie/Beaver a second time.  Best of luck to you guys, thank you for finally taking the right step to improve the game.

I'm really excited about the 4 new characters coming soon to DST, so I created this post. Comment on your characters that you think should be added to the game!

I don't really keep up with this game so pardon me if this is a dumb question. I was looking through the skin packs and I couldn't find some of the first skins that came out. Those being the original Survivor skins and Triumphant skins. Were they taken out of the game? This blueprint was in the background of the image of Winona wielding for the rework. I can’t tell if it’s a radio or the top half of Maxwells Door, the part with the wheel. I mean, it’d make sense for it to be a radio, lore-wise, but radios don’t have wheels.

Hey there. I need a bit of a helping hand. I just recently linked my accounts together, Steam, PS4, and Twitch, to gain access to the Twitch Drops. Everything went off fine, it says all of my accounts are connected, but after six hours in a stream with drops activated I'm not getting so much as the avatar or the background, unfortunately also meaning I'm not getting the Spectacular Wayfinder itself.

I'm not finding much on this matter through other searches, so I thought to ask here to check if I need to give it time or if it should be almost instantaneous after the timers have reached the mark, or if it might be a problem with Steam & PS4 being linked to my Twitch account, as opposed to one or the other. I am also watching Twitch via the Twitch app on my PS4, I'm not sure if that would impact it at all or not.

My thanks for checking in and giving me a helping hand, hopefully we can get this sorted out.

The 2019 Roadmap has a ton of exciting news, including new areas and creatures! I made this post for people to share their own area ideas(include new mobs).

For example, I think there should be a large 'dead forest' area. It is a forest biome, but most of the trees have been cleared out. Birds are the only wildlife and the only remains of trees are burnt ones and stumps. The interesting part is that there is a pig cult in the dead forest, who stopped following the pig king long ago, who now follow who they call 'Waag'. There are several positions(ranks?) in the cult, and all are hostile. The first and most common position is the pig follower, which has the same look and stats and the normal pig, but has simple purple line markings across the body. Next is the pig cultist. They also have purple markings, and wear a dark purple hood(like Maxwell's Forge head). They will raise their arms above their head, and dark orbs will appear in their hands, which they will throw at you(the speed of the orbs are slightly slow, so you have a chance to dodge them).

In the dead forest, there are 3 gathering spots for the cult, which are kind of set up like bases. The majority of the gatherings are pig followers, plus some cultists. In one of the 3 spots, there is the second in command cultist. He looks like a cultist, but most of his body is purple, he's stronger, and he can produce and throw dark orbs much faster than others. If you kill him, he will drop a map scroll, and once you use it, a new cultist head icon will appear on the map. This will lead you to a new gathering spot for a boss fight.

At the new gathering spot, there is a large ring of pig cultists, continually yelling 'WAAG!'. Inside the ring is the cult leader, who looks like the second in command, but has an aura of shadows around him. He is waving his arms around in patterns, and a large shadow rift keeps on flickering in front of him(trying to summon Waag). Once the leader notices you, the boss fight begins and the ring of cultists disappear in clouds of dark smoke. The boss has 3 stages.

on the first stage, he will fight like a normal pig and occasionally fire an onslaught of orbs at you. Once he is damaged enough, he will start the 2nd stage and he will summon 3 large purple pillars on screen. Each pillar will fire a continuous beam at the leader, which powers a shield around him. You must destroy the pillars before you can do any more damage to him. After that, the 3rd stage starts and will summon several pig cultist back to help him fight. Once the cultists are dead,  he will stop moving and throw much larger orbs in random directions. The large orbs will split into a bunch of smaller ones that go in every direction. The leader will continue to throw large orbs until he is dead and the boss fight is over.

I'm not sure what should happen after that, but maybe you could wear the leader's hood to open the shadow portal and start a shadow creature boss fight with Waag. I thought up the cult thing because I like the idea and I think it can add a ton of lore.

is this a bug? I'm really confused

I'm curious what everyone's thoughts on what would be a fair spool cost for characters, which is something Klei is taking seriously into consideration. I personally think that if they simply followed the upward trend they're currently on with spool costs that it would actually be pretty fair. Each rarity increases in cost by 3x over the previous quality with only one exception. If Klei kept with the Status Quo, the pricing would like something like this.

Cost to weave

1. Common 15
2. Classy 45
3. Spiffy 150 (the only time it's slightly more than 3x the cost of the previous quality)
4. Distinguished 450
5. Elegant 1350
6. New Character 4050

With this pricing scheme, that would make a new character the equivalent of 3 Elegant skins. Generally speaking though, $6.99 is worth more than 4050 spools (the cost a new character is expected to run). Equivalently costed bundles generally nets you about 5 high-end skins, or 6750 spool worth of skins. Of course though, the $6.99 purchase does include unique skins for that character and since you wouldn't be getting those skins by unlocking the character with spools, 4050 I think could be a fair spool cost for these characters. What do you guys think?

I know Klei isn't involved with the mods but I've just logged in twice after the update and I don't know if any other mods are now broken but the most obvious one that I noticed is Geometric Placement. I tried turning it on and off but it's just not working anymore and trying to open its menu crashes the game. I'm not sure if this is the right section for this issue but I thought it was worth pointing out since no one seems to have mentioned it yet.

This thread is meant to discuss about character refreshes. What will the refreshes change? We can talk about all characters here and post our ideas here, so feel free to contribute!

My ideas about Wilson so far:

In general, he probably will become sort of a healer, since he seems to have some medical knowledge. 

His abilities:

- Fallen survivors will drop, and instead of instantly turning into skeletons, they will remain in their bodies for a very short time (5-10 seconds?). While being in this state, they will be possible to be "reanimated" by Wilson, until they turn into skeletons. Wilson reviving them will stop this timer. The reviving itself should take 10-15 seconds. If they get revived in time, they will get up, with 20-25 health, 30 hunger, and 35-40 sanity. After they get up, they will be in "weak" state. The "weak" state lasts for half a day, and while in that state, they will look and walk as if they just woke up after eating a mandrake, and the healing items/foods will be half as efficient, and tey will recieve twice as much damage, which makes the character very vurnerable. They will also be unable to fight, or do other activities, such as chopping trees or mining. If killed in that state, they will be impossible to revive by Wilson. After the "weak" state, they switch to "recovering" state. In that state, they are quite similar to their normal state, but they are a bit slower, recieve 1.2x more damage and they can do normal activities, but they will be less efficient (for example, they have to swing twice as much to chop a single tree), and they have smaller damage output, divided by 2. That state lasts for 1 day. After they turn into "normal" state.

- He will be able to exclusively craft some medical supplies, more efficient and more available. Maybe even a better version of telltale heart that doesn't decrease max hp as much and gives back bigger stats? Or some cheap, effective bandages which he will start with?

Weaknesses:

- If he does those things, they increase his "stress" level, a new hidden value. The higher his "stress" is, the faster the sanity will decrease. You can decrease stress by sleeping or eating tasty foods.

I wasn't around when the Gorge or Forge 2 event happened, so I'm wondering if maybe I missed something.

Currently the only way to get the Victorian skins and gorge item skins are by buying the chests off the steam store, which means if you unravel the Gorge skins from the steam store, you can't get them back via weaving or buying them again like you can now. To me it's just a little odd that the new skin sets can be purchased this way but the Gorge ones cannot.

Anyone got any thoughts on this? Would be greatly appreciated.

Today’s a big day for Don’t Starve Together. We have quite a few things to talk about today, from Winona’s character refresh, to some lore content, to a drastic increase in drop rates.

Every character has their story, and with each refresh, we will be revealing a bit more of their past. See what memories Winona has to share with you here:

Winona Refresh
Winona has been hard at work since landing in the Constant, and she’s invented a couple new ingenious tools! She can now construct a catapult to keep enemies at bay, as well as a spotlight to keep her and her friends safe from Charlie. Both of these gadgets are powered by her new portable generators.

Unfortunately, her hardworking nature is getting the better of her, and every time she builds something she burns a few more calories than normal.

We’re also launching the new Industrious skin for Winona, an Industrial-themed item set, and the classic Guest of Honor, Triumphant, Survivor and Rose skins are now all available for purchase. All owners of these classic skins prior to today are now upgraded to an “Heirloom” rarity, with full unraveling value (that is, an Heirloom Elegant can be unraveled for 1350 spool).

New Drop System
In addition to these new skins, we are announcing drastically improved drop rates for everyone. 

We want to make sure that players are able to earn skins and new characters in a reasonable amount of time. They previously could not so we felt the drop rate needed to be revised to reflect that. We are starting this new drop system before the first new character to give everybody a nice head start to earn spool before it’s release. 

The first thing we are doing is providing a daily item bonus. Each day you play, you will receive a drop simply by logging in. Secondly, we are doubling the amount of timed drops that are given per week to 8, up from the previous 4. Along with the daily item bonus, players can now receive a total of 15 items per week, nearly 4 times the previous amount.

And finally, we have increased the frequency of elegants and other rare items in the drop table. 

Our previous drop rates were as follows:

• Common: 68%
• Classy: 23.00%
• Spiffy: 6.00%
• Distinguished: 2.50%
• Elegant: 0.50%

Today, the drop rates are:

• Common: 52.7%
• Classy: 26.0%
• Spiffy: 13.0%
• Distinguished: 6.0%
• Elegant: 2.3%

Console Purchases
We finally have consoles able to purchase skins! This is a first step, we would like to be able to offer parity between PC and console on skins, but there are some technical details in order for us to support many different packages.

In the meantime, we’ve made the following bundles available for purchase:
