Anyone knows what's the deal with the Totally Normal Trees in this Halloween update?
They have glowing red eyes now.
Apparently you can grow them somehow, but it doesn't say how.
Chopping them does not yield some new sort of seed, there isn't a recipe to craft one out of living logs, you cant interact with the living logs directly..
Does anyone know more?

Request to make mad science table a permanent part of DST.
It has happened before I believe. I think it is a great addition to the game, all potions are useful, being able to grow Totally Normal Trees is awesome. Maybe remove the decoration and the bats thing for the rest of the year?
But can we please have the potions and the table as a permanent addition to the game? I mean the art and the code is already in there, it would be a shame to make it go away.
Anyone else agree with me?

Love this one because it looks like as if the third bunny from the right (not counting the bunny behind the hut) is throwing the small bunny.
My dear Wolfgang managed to trap himself while being sane and of course I mocked him by taking a screenshot and weeks later finding myself trapped in this too while being sane.
Wigfrid is able to fish in carpet. Who would have guessed.
DST Skins Checklist
The DST Skins Checklist has been designed to help you more easily keep track of your DST skins collection. This can be done by manually checking off items or by directly syncing the checklist with your inventory on Steam.
The layout is fairly rustic, but it lets you view, filter, and search the skins you own, have duplicates of, or are missing in the game. All save data is stored locally on your computer (in your browser's Local Storage).
The checklist is a single HTML file (images are all embedded) and can be used online or from your desktop:

I originally made this for my friends and I to keep track of our skins collection, but I thought I'd also share it here. The layout is fairly rustic, however, it does its job.
The checklist lets you save & filter items based on collection, character, color, rarity, and whether you own an item or not. I've also included links to each skin's Steam page.

To use, save the HTML file to your computer and open it with your browser. Alternatively, you can use the live preview link above, but Google Drive is discontinuing HTML web hosting at the end of August; so, the preview will cease to work after then.
The skin images are embedded (via base64 encoding) into the HTML file, so the file size is ~1.25MB. Saving uses the Local Storage of your browser, so your save will be lost if you clear your browser's cache and/or site data. Javascript also needs to be enabled to use the interactive features.

disable the Winter's Feast for Hallowed Nights?
A friend and I started a world a while ago and activated Winter's Feast for the additional fun. At that time I wasn't aware that you can't get the Hallowed Nights when Winter's Feast was activated. Is there a way to disable it now so that we are able to play with the new additions?
What special gift will be given on Halloween night?

Do Turfs Regenerate?

This has been something I've been wondering about for quite some time now, I've used google search and also read the Wiki but i have never gotten a definite answer so i'l ask here and hopefully someone more experienced/knowledgeable than i am can give me the answer.
The reason why i'm asking is because i wanted to dig up all if not most of the Rocky Turf to make Cobblestones for a Mega Base project, akin to what I've seen in DST Mega Base tours I've seen in YouTube where people had big Cobblestone roads connecting their base to other far off areas and i was becoming curious if there is enough Rocky Turf in my game to potentially make something similar.

- recipes built in free build mode now correctly get prototyped as well(if they are prototypable)
- using hunting tracks can now spawn bats, midway through as a "ambush" it can spawn 3-6 with the calculation being math.min(3 + math.floor(day/35), 6) ie every 35 days into a world adds one new bat spawn capping at 6.
- the skinned batbat has some fancy fx
- graves have a chance of spawning 3 bats when dug up.
- "fake bats" can spawn from trees when chopped via a spooked component it lowers your sanity a bit, not that interesting tbh
- tumbleweeds can spawn when opened the Halloween ornaments
- Halloween trinkets spawn around living tree's
- the multiplayer portal has some new sounds.
- 5 new recipes:

- some new potions, most potions have two varations large and small, i dont think large are obtainable yet edit: large are obtainable, 33%(?) chance to get a large instead of small when crafted.
- the "halloween_experiment_root" appears to be a way to plant livingtree's
- and finally the madscience_lab which allows you to make the potions.

Why not emote for Halloween!
Hi everyone, we are after release Halloweed Nights ... and Klei why we didnt get any emotes?! In heart i was waiting for new version /carol - with instrumental version "This is Halloween". Or any /boo emotes or /scream ... I hope we can get /carol Halloween song!
Hallowed Nights chests different price in euro
So, after the topic about the 20 dollar surviors' chest I checked the prices in-game and on steam, and found that in my region (EU) the two chests (surviors and belongings) together cost 10,79€ in-game but 10,60€ on steam. I know it might be just nitpicking, but I think the prices shouldn't differ, right? Or combining the two chests work differently on steam as in-game, and if so, why is that?

- The moon-postern properly gives a health penalty for reviving when in endless mode(the only time you can portal revive)
- SKIN PRESETS, you can now save up to 10 skin presets per character!

The main menu news panel seems to have an image without a link in there. Normally I'd say it's just a bug and they forgot to insert a link to whatever the image references, but with Klei's history of puzzles... (Does Minecraft Villager impressions) Suspicious indeed.... Especially with the stalagmites in the background suggesting this is taking place in the Caves... Can someone please get me a blown-up version of that news panel(with Wilson and the shadows) as well as(if allowed) take a peek at the code behind the image?
snowfallen event
Hi guys I have a question. I didn't buy Snowfallen items from shop. Does it come back like Return the Forge event or something.
Halloween ornaments?
So I heard you get the ornaments by finding them on the ground in your world (like the trinkets). In my world, no trinkets or ornaments spawned.
Here are things about this world of mine: The world is old a year now and it has passed through last years Hollowed Nights. Back then Forge was going on and i completely missed Hollowed Nights but the trinkets did spawn in and I kept them till this year. However no more trinkets or ornaments spawned in which I can assume that they were supposed to.
If there is any way to fix this, please tell me.
