Hi there,

My partner is trying to create an account on Don't Starve Together, however whenever either of us try it doesn't work.

When she opens the game, and then clicks "create an account", Chrome opens in the background (on desktop, not Steam) and goes to the default Chrome homepage rather than the 'create an account' URL. We've tried creating an account through the klei website but it's not allowed due to parameters in the URL. The Browser doesn't open in the steam overlay at all. In fact, the overlay doesn't even work when enabled, and I can't set a resolution for some reason.

I've tried the suggested fix of disabling the in-game overlay which did not work, both for Steam and for Don't Starve Together specifically. The Browser just tries to open in a desktop version of Chrome.

My partner is using the latest version of Mac, and the latest version of Steam.

According to this article, All beta players can receive the special portrait for beta players. But.. hmm.. seems I didn't get that one. Anyone knows about the information of this 'special beta player's portrait'?

Every time I try to start the game it gives me that message, the game was gifted, and I've been able to play it before, I have 5 hours on it, and it's an amazing game, I read somewhere it said to " To re-install VCredist and DXSetup in folder: " I've found the files but I don't know how to reinstall them

Hello, guys, been a long while since I've been around the forum. Bottom line is, my work in summer is just too much for me to handle any gaming at all.

 

Anyway decided to drop by to say I've started a DST Solo World, with a lot of mods, and tbh I'm getting in love as much as when New Reign was getting released. I always wanted to do a Solo World like my Mega Base in Single Player with all the good new content New Reign brought, but after doing two 1k+ Days Megabases with a few people it was just not enough content to make me wanna start everything from scratch.

I'm around 250+ days so there is still not much done, so I will just share 2 zones(one finished, the other almost) where you can see few of the mods in work

I was in a game of the forge when my game crashed. I tried to load up the game again but it just kept crashing. I already tried verifying my game files and restarting Steam. I'd really appreciate some help, thanks!

(Edit): Just uninstalled and reinstalled and it's fixed now, no worries here!

Could this work? And would the fanbase be okay with it?

I remember that in the past, Klei mentioned that the way the wanted to introduce RoG into DST was that everyone would have access to RoG content in the game, but the characters would be limited only to those who bought the DLC for the single player. That never happened and the content was just brought into the game for everybody.

This got me thinking... why wasn't this done? Because mods were already allowing these characters? I guess... I mean, it wouldn't be splitting the fanbase, it's just that not ever player would be able to use all of the characters.

Considering that people would like to have single player DLC brought into DST, couldn't it be possible to simply make it so that you can host a server with a certain DLC's content if you own the single player DLC and characters would be limited to what you have. So, you would still be able to play with other players on SW-integrated servers, but not be able to host a server with SW content or play with the characters specified. And I think this can actually work if you set things up properly; client only needs to see and hear what's going on, they don't need most of the mechanics code, really, as that can be handled on the server-side. Although I guess it might mean changing the way the game functions at least to some extent.

So, I'm wondering what others think of this method. It wouldn't split servers that you can join, which encouraging other players to purchase single player and its DLC, which could support further development of the game, rather than Klei scraping off of whatever comes from skins, some of which partially ruin the aesthetic of the game too imo as some have been cheaply made.

Hi Klei, tomorrow is my birthday i am 26 years old, tomorrow will be 27 ;D, thanks for my birthday present on the Klei weekend sale, while being from venezuela its very diffucult to get the US$ to buy your games i started with dont starve together a while ago now i am a new happy owner of all Dont starve saga, thank you very much, i did it because its my favorite game of this gender, you did a great job at the game and i really enjoy it, thanks again, keep the good work.

So, according to the devs, the Forge is only the first of several upcoming events. What are some of the themes you think could be the focus of future ones?

I was thinking one could have some sort of supernatural theme. Each character becomes some monster from old horror tales or urban legends.

Wilson could be a vampire, Woodie could be a proper werewolf, Wendy could be a banshee, etc. Their attacks could be based around the creatures they are, instead of them having weapons (still have unique perks, though.)

Just my thoughts, totally would love to hear what ideas other people have!

You need to be the administrator or an officer of the Steam group.

1. Connect to Steam and go to your group page, then click on the "Edit group profile" link

 

 

 

You'll find the Steam ID of your group :

 

2. Edit cluster.ini file and add the following lines in the [steam] section :

[steam]
steam_group_id = YourGroupID
steam_group_admins = true
steam_group_only = true

Setting steam_group_admins to true will automatically make administrators (but not moderators) in your steam group administrators on your servers as well.

Setting steam_group_only to true will only allow members of the specified group to connect to your server. If you set it to false, your server will be open to everyone (unless you specify a password) but it will appear in the top of the server list for members of the group.

Hello, i am confused about the new drop system, i was working for around 1 and a half month so i had to leave the game for that time, so i return to find out about the forge, my conection is not good to really play online with others i usually play online as solo to get skins for fun, ok here are the questions.

The drop system for the normal game DST still the same? 4 gift per week that reset every thursday?

The drop system on the forge helps normal game (can you still get skins for normal mode? (i am insterested on playing alone to avoid lag issues)

I appear to have correct permissions, I can delete and add new files at will. However files will not update or download from the workshop. I have tried entering safe mode, and reinstalling the game (using both steam and deleting all the folders). Nothing has worked so far. This bug began with the new Forge Update. If there is a known fix I would love to be informed.

Steam downloads workshop items for other games and can even download the same mods when I set up a dedicated server on the same computer, yet they refuse to download for DST. Steam says it downloads all the mods but when I get in game it says that they're downloading. Then it goes away, like it gave up for a moment, before starting the download again... Upon further investigation I noticed that this occurs for both DS and DST. Also this happens on another computer in my house with a fresh install of steam....

I've reinstalled the game 3 times now and can't figure out what the problem is...

I haven't seen or heard of anyone else with this exact problem and help would be appreciated.

What is this? Earthquakes? Sinkholes? Seismic Shifts?

I'm really really hoping that I'm not putting this in the wrong place but I couldn't honestly tell if this belonged in the general area or the stories area;
that said I was having a pretty nice time surviving, doing a little challenge to survive for a full in-game 365 days. Yet in the middle of summer, just when I thought I knew the game, I was hit with a huge scare. The earth rumbled, screen shook, and then suddenly two GIANT problems appeared straight in the middle of my encampment, I'm not exactly sure what they are, and I forgot what Wilson said about them exactly, but they scared the ever living heck out of me and destroyed two valuable structures. Honestly I just want to know what they are.

I was playing DST, season was currently summer, several days in. Screencap below.

I got my present as normal, but when I clicked to open it, it started animation but about 0,5 seconds later it canceled itself, I tried it like 30 times, then tried to rejoin server and my present dissapeared (I think thats normal but the canceling is not) I dont know what can be done about it, I am really mad becouse I wanted to try to get one of the new skins, but game screwed me over big time (I know I would probably not get it, but it refused to give me even chance) I am really mad, but agin, even if somone reads this, I lost my present and now I am just repeating myself out of pity so thats all ...
