A thread like this existed before but I'm afraid it fell deep into the archive, so here is a new one. You can post funny, odd and terrible pictures that you made while playing DST.

Love this one because it looks like as if the third bunny from the right (not counting the bunny behind the hut) is throwing the small bunny.

My dear Wolfgang managed to trap himself while being sane and of course I mocked him by taking a screenshot and weeks later finding myself trapped in this too while being sane.

Why doesnt Klei add the skipwrecked world and maybe even the hamlet world into DST, it would make it really intresting imo 

Weird Dream (Great Gobbler disaster of 2020)

Recently I had a dream where I was picking berries in the game, when a Gobbler popped out of the bush. The Gobbler, instead of running away like usual, started punching me like Pigmen do; dealing exactly 4.33 damage (don't know why). Afterwards, every berry bush in the area spawned a Gobbler as soon as I fought back and they proceeded to rush me all at once; the damage was minimal, but I was stun-locked into oblivion. I had some other dreams afterwards but I eventually woke up as a result.

What do you guys think would be your first impression if a Gobbler actually attacked you in-game and swarmed you with other Gobblers? I may find an alternative to my fruit need if that were to ever be the case.

Theory of second portal on the moon island

I have a small theory that in the world of Konstant, in addition to the atrium, there is another portal. I think that this time we have to build a portal, instead of going through the maze. If you remember, after winning the king of crabs, we can catch a very interesting thing that called "the Celestial Tribute". Perhaps he is the beginning of the puzzle. Confirmation of this is Warly's quote on Celestial Tribute, "Somethink tells me this is part of bigger recipe". In addition to the fact that this altar promises to tell secrets to each character, it promises Warly to take him to his maman. Warly quote on moon altar: "You know how to get me home to maman?". The appearance of the lunar portal in the game also explains that only 6 characters went to the altar instead of 14. In the trailer for "Don't Starve Together: Return of Them - Turn Of Tides" we can see that Wilson, Wigfrid and Winona are sent to the moon island, but in the trailer for "Don't Starve Together: Return of Them - Salty Dog" from the moon island only Wigfrid and Wilson return.1313634823_2020-07-18(6).thumb.png.65628c2187f1fd5a0db5ab4d84d04746.png 2139190180_2020-07-18(8).thumb.png.e5eeb79150bc003ef1e7ad9eb8820d79.png

We can also notice that the other two characters who did not come to the atrium, Wes and Warly, are sailing on a completely different ship. In the trailer, we can see that they met up with Wilson and Wigfrid and gave them some food, and then sailed away. Perhaps they met Winona and opened a portal on the moon island, or maybe they died from malbatross which means that there are 12 survivors, 6 of them got into the portal to the atrium, and the other 6 got into the portal on the moon island.

 In addition, I want to say that in the trailer "Don't Starve Together: Return of Them - Turn Of Tides" there are WX-78 and Webber, where they are building a moon altar. Wx-78 and Webber weren't at the atrium either.

Do you know any game mechanic that could not be very popular, you use for your advantage and could let us know?

For example: If you feed a pig x4 monster meat and kill it, you get 2x meat and 1x pig skin; two out of three ingredients to prototype hambat, also, you can repeat the process to get pig skin without destroying pig houses.

Chinese Horoscope Events

DST also features the Chinese Zodiac in events, having every year a featured animal (or monster). It all started in 2017 with the correspondant chinese animal (Rooster= Gobbler). The Varg followed, then Pig King and now (2020) Carrat (Year of the Dog, Pig and Rat respectively in the Chinese Zodiac).

Since i enjoy these thematic events so much (and particularly love the Chinese zodiac) i can only wonder if these events will continue as a tradition every year. Personally i would love it to, but i know this can be hard since there are some animals that are not yet implemented in the game, or at least i can't think of as the Zodiac counterpart (Tiger, Horse).

What in-game animals/monsters do you think can take the place in future events? Which skin ideas would you like to be implemented respecting this thematic oriented events? My wild guess is next year it might be Beefalo's year, since 2021 is the year of the Ox.

Disclaimer: never played other DS game. This is a DST thread because i do not know what other mobs can be found in Hamlet or SW and don't know if these events are also available on that games.

With the latest QoL update came compedium and its lore which I personally liked very much. And so I was wondering if Klei will introduce something new that wasn't specifically requested by the community.

What do yall think?

Should regular tent be made portable?

With the introduction of Walter, I never cease to be amazed how incredibly powerful his tent roll is. It's superior to regular tent in almost every way - has more uses, much cheaper to craft (made solely from twigs and grass) and most importantly is portable. With such thing in existence, it's relatively pointless to craft regular tents when you can just ask your fellow Walter to mass-craft his tent rolls like Wigfrid does with her helms and they will last you a long time. Or you can use celestial portal and do that yourself, obviously.

Portable structures didn't exist when tent was added in the game, but since they are now a thing, shouldn't tent be portable too like it is in real life? This way tents would at least have a chance to ever be crafted, because they can be made on the go instead of having to run back to base when walter's tent roll runs out of uses.

i got two developer's graveyards, a regular graveyard, a cave entrance and beequeen within two days walk of the spawn in my newest word.

i get developer's graveyard often enough that i was happy but not particularly ecstatic(i intentionally turn boons, trees and flowers all the way up and touchstones off which seems to help that particular set-piece spawn about 20% of the time) but i've never ever seen two in the same world and the person i was playing with seemed quite surprised as well. as far as i know it should only spawn once? like, the wiki doesn't say if that is how it works but with how rare it is for other players(and in ds i only ever saw it one time ever) i would assume it oughtn't show up more than that?

the only thing i can think that is unusual about the world is that i was shown how to change the code in the cave generation so that all the exits spawn close together. it has made my caves very lively and interesting but since caves are entirely separate from the overworld i am not sure that would do anything? if it is possible to get two of the same set-piece then please just tell me i am silly but if it isn't mayperhaps it is a bug?

Hi,

I want to plan DST sessions beforehand with my buddies and the possibility to save the explored map to a high-res image file would be a huge benefit. Unfortunately, screenshots are not that great quality. I recently found this thread, however it does not seem to work for me. Does anyone have an idea if it is even possible?

Please add subtitles for hound barks and seasonal boss growls

One of my friends just got into DST but has very bad hearing. Would the devs please consider adding subtitles for the hound wave barks and seasonal boss growls? Something simple like "Hounds barking" and "Loud Growling" would be amazing.

She is aware now that the character announces hounds with a quote but this only happens about halfway into the barking, giving her less time to prepare.
The hounds she has been able to manage since the time they take to spawn is much longer. However, the main issue is that the character quotes for the seasonal bosses spawning happens near the very end of the growling and gives her less than 30 seconds to react and prepare for their arrival.
Deerclops and Bearger growl about 5 times before spawning, but the character doesn't mention it with a quote until the 4th growl. This results in Deerclops and Bearger spawning right in her base almost every time. When playing solo she has almost no time at all to adjust what she is doing and fight the bosses away from base, please Klei add a subtitle option for these <3 I'm sure there are others like her who play the game and they would love this accessibility option.

Connecting 2 ('Oar' more) Boats

Maybe klei could add a way to connect 2 boats together, but also slow down the boats at the same time, just for a disadvantage.

What are your Greatest Achievements?

Today I soloed the dragonfly with no walls or panflute, which i felt pretty accomplished with. This got me thinking, what are the greatest achievements of everyone else in Don't Starve/Together?

(also my strategy: fill as much of your inventory as you can with armor. (it helps with backpack slot mod to have a full krampus sack of log suits) i had 15 log suits, 10 battle helms, 36 perogies, 23 jelly beans (didnt use most of them) a life giving amulet, a dark sword, and a ham bat. use the dark sword on the lavae to kill them as quickly as possible. they can easily overwhelm you, and a hambat will kill them in 7 hits, which is just enough for it to hit you once before they die. a dark sword will take 6 hits, meaning the lavae will not get the chance to attack.)

Console, Can't create new Wormholes

Hello, i'm trying to create a new wormhole in my game (im host), i'm open console and following this steps (like in wiki):

Sadly no one line command, follow steps instead.
Spawn wormhole 1 using this command: worm1 = c_spawn("wormhole")
Spawn wormhole 2 using this command: worm2 = c_spawn("wormhole")
Create connections forth: worm1.components.teleporter.targetTeleporter = worm2
And back: worm2.components.teleporter.targetTeleporter = worm1
DONE!

both wormhole are created, but not linked, when im near nothing happen, and if i exit server and back the wormholes disappered, what im doing worng?

 

UPDATE

Lol, just found the error, when you CTRL+C and CRTL+V the lines the CTRL on console opened make the command as LOCAL, sou you shold press CTRL again to make it REMOTE and all will work...

Lost Adventurers Chest $10.99 (19 RMB). Contains 5 skin sets.
Warly's "The Head Chef" set, including the "Head Chef's Hat" Top Hat skin, Wolfgang's "The Verdant" set, Wilson's "The Verdant" set, Wurt's "The Roseate" set, and  Wormwood's "The Triumphant" set.

In addition, we had to change up some of the skin prices a bit to bring them more in-line with the spool value of the items inside. Some packs went down in price and some went up, but just by a little bit.

Final Notes

We know you have all been wondering what's coming up next. Will we have more DLC characters? What's the next character refresh? 

For the next DLC character. We'll see. Probably, but no promises right now. We're mostly focused on trying to stick to a manageable schedule, which is obviously a bit tough at the moment. But, I think we're doing pretty well so far.

With that being said, we're going to do another QOL update for August. The last one was received very well and not only does it allow everybody on the team some room to breath and catch up with everything they are working on, but we've found it to be rewarding to get in some of the things that we have wanted to get fixed up but haven't found the time. If you have things that you would like to see in the next QOL update, now's the time to let us know!

We've already begun work on the next character refresh as well as the next animated short for that character and we're well on our way for the next big content update. We'll announce the character on the QOL update post next month. I know, I know. I want to tell you, but you're gonna have to wait a bit longer.
