It's been a while now, but i've been wondering how people interact with the multiplayer aspect of this game. 

I personnaly can only play with a max of 3 people because of lag. I really enjoy playing in public servers though or go in a random server and help the host. It's really nice to be able to give support to someone else.

When i host a public server i have a griefer phobia and i tend to only allow 1 person in my server when i put it on public. It's a bit less worries for me. Sadly to often did i host a world where people would just sit at base or straight up burn it.

On this what are your toughts ? Share you stories or personnal preferences/experiences down below.

can someone help me understand how the dst server work ..
1. if i host a server, and other players join in and play .  when i shut down and restart my pc, can we continue playing where we left ?
 2. how to backup and restore the dst server state? in case i need to continue hosting using different pc?

Though personally I am not the best person to discuss, I've decided to start this thread such that other people can discuss Wicker's probable rework.

Before anything else I'll list some of the rework ideas I've found commonly discussed when it comes to Wickerbottom:

 - Nerf her book costs as they're ridiculously easy to get

 - Nerf her book-reading capability to prevent her from reading books while out of sanity (I think this nerf should expand to the rest of sanity-draining magic items too tbf)

 - Expand upon her elderly side by granting her downsides befitting an elderly person

I personally think Wicker should have a specific character-based item (think of Mourning Glory) which can only be acquired by performing  a specific set of actions, required to craft her books.

What about you guys? What are your thoughts regarding this matter?

Hello fellow Forum Members! Those of you who've been around for a while probably remember this topic made by @MenaAthena:

It was pinned for quite a long time, however, it has been removed some time ago, I guess in the last year at some point.

I really liked the tips Mena gave, they can be the backbone of a healthy and friendly community. I (still) play quite often on public survival servers with random players of every skill level and these tips are still very actual. "Don't ask where the Base is Right After Joining" (a classic, heh ), "Don't Pick Everything", "Don't Enter in Winter or Summer" or "If you don't want Strangers, set a Password" are some of the most important and relevant ones and my favourites (in fact, there's been a rant on the latter topic on steam lately (again)).

Does anyone know why this topic got un-pinned? Maybe because it got archived? I think it is still worthy of being on the top of the general forums, so that new players can find it as well. Could we get it back in some way?

Going to google images, I noticed there's a lack of images of Caves in general. It's mainly base related if there's cave related images. Going to the caves section on the wiki, it only posts the spires.

Well, i noticed some lore topics around but i feel kinda lost looking at'em.

I'll leave here some infomations and i'd love if someone that know of information or things that connect to them could explain here each one of them.

First: Wendy Cinematic (wish you were here)

If you skip to the 0:45 time of the video, you can see that when she falls, Abigail makes noise from cars, claiming that a car crash caused the tragedy.

Second: Abigail's name.

As we can see in the image, Abigail is called Abigail Lillian Carter.

Third: Probably Wendy's Diary? Leaving a note about Abigail.

Fourth: I'll leave the rest of the images here, but the questions remain: Who are these? Who is the man on the poster? Who used the book of spiritualism? Who does this room belong to? And please, someone answer who is that mustache Maxwell.

Tell me everything you guys know about and use this space to also theorize, if possible!

I've been playing "Dont starve" instead "DST", now i started playing to see the new updates, but there's something wrong.
The music, or ambient music (IDK) doesnt play. and its so boring and quiet annoying. from other side. battle music and sound effects works correctly.
Can someone tellme how to turn the music on? or fix this? or is it normal? i've been playing to DS too much and the music never stop.
P/D: setting -> sound fx, music, and ambient volume all 10.

This is something I first noticed after playing Hamlet, that for some reason in areas where Klei could simply copy and paste content they make tweaks to them. In Hamlet they introduced pigeons to Don't Starve, though there had already been pigeons, in the Gorge for DST. However, the pigeons had been redrawn. In the Gorge there were also several assets that could have been re-imported, like meat scraps/morsels or fish/salmon, or having regular or shaved beefalo instead of this poor dying ones bound by a yoke. Recently wobsters were added in RoT, though the they have different visuals and new dens. So does anybody know why Klei does things this way? I'm not complaining at all, I love the amount of heart put into DST, I'm just curious.

In the Forge trailer, we can see that survivors opened the Atrium portal and were teleported to the Forge. Then the Gorge comes and we know that in the end, they've escaped through the portal. But then Klei announced that there'll be no new events for now and the next cinematic we can see that all survivors are back in constant. What do you think happened after the Gorge?
I mean, we can say that they were teleported back to the Atrium after they've escaped from the Gorge, but this is boring, maybe you guys can come up with something interesting?

I was thinking about the quest for Pearl, the crabby hermit. You do a bunch of nice things for her and she gives you a pearl, and you give it to the Crab King, who does not accept Pearl's gift and has been too corrupted by the "Moon," and he becomes extra powerful, cracking the pearl upon death. But I was thinking, What if you went the Cruel route? There could be an alternate quest where you do horrible things to Pearl: You throw her messages into the fire, you burn down the trees, destroy the bee box and kill the bees, destroy the drying racks, planting lureplants, putting extra clutter in her water, and blowing up her house with gunpowder. After doing all of these things, you gain the option to kill Pearl. Not "Attack" but "Kill." Upon death, she would drop the cracked pearl. You can then bring that to the Crab King, but this time, he will be angry that you killed his lover. He will become "Misery Crab King," and will have Seven times the benefits from the gems, and will have a new attack that damages the player AND the boats. Upon death, he drops a different celestial tribute that has its own unique recipes.

We are introducing a system that will allow players to collect "points" on their accounts by doing various things like subscribing to our Youtube or following us on Twitter and then use those points to get items. Currently we will be using this to distribute our out of cycle Twitch items rather than selling them as we had previously suggested. This allows players to get what they missed before or just get them without going through Twitch.

The first version of this can be found on our accounts page here: https://accounts.klei.com/account/rewards

In the future we will update the rewards program with new ways to earn more points and pick up cool rewards they may have missed, or even possibly entirely new stuff. Let us know what you think!

So, this is our base so far. I know, it looks kinda messy at the moment.. and not very creative, the thing is that I've never made a mega base before. Plus don't worry about ice flingomatics, I have a small base for summer. And the grass tufts, saplings, berry bushes are in a different place. So any suggestions on what we should add?

so, i started a new world. everything is perfect.  in fact, its the best world gen ive had in forever.......

there is a big problem.

i forgot to turn off disease!

i really dont want to trash this perfect world and never see it again. i'm wondering if there is a command i can enter every time i load the game to stop disease? or maybe something in the files that come from the world itself? i know there's commands/code editing out there to stop rain and edit hound waves, and i'm wondering if its possible for disease too.

if the answer is a definite "no" ill hide the thread, but for now i need advice.

or some way to get the seed of a world if there's nothing i can do. (it's possible, it's what people who've speedrunned certain things have said they do in their videos)

I was wondering Has anyone experimented with crab king and seen if he drops any different loot for killing him with all iridescent gems socketed?
