I'm curious, so post your oldest world here, and include a picture for proof. I want to see what the oldest world is. Mine is 1200+, but I already know that's beaten.

I think if I had free reign for anything, one would be a skin of the lantern as either a Jack O' Lantern-lantern or a Skull Lantern with flames coming out of the mouth of either; another would be a Candy cane Walking Cane with snow-flake particle trail effects. What about you guys? NOTE: They can have animated effects as you wish such as with the Gorge or Metheus Walking Cane, Crystalline Ice Box, etc without limit.
Hi, recently I been having troubles with Don't Starve Together. I was going to the item menu to unravel some items so I could save them to unlock wormwood, but when I went to the item collection it came up with a message that says "Item Collection Download Failed unfortunately you failed to download your item collection, would you like to try again?" I press yes but then it loads for about two seconds and then shows the same display message, but when I press no it brings me back to the menu. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Is there any reliable way to acquire more red gems without having to wait for summer to arrive for the periodic hounds?
I'm playing solo atm, and are currently preparing for the ruins and want some red gems to get purples, and I want to wait until after ruins before I attempt another dragonfly kill(my pan flute is 20% atm)
I've already dug all the graves in my world and every clockwork in the surface world has been killed(so no bishops for purples)
Do I have to just tumbleweed farm for red gems during blue hound seasons? At least until I eventually raid the ruins, or is there a more reliable method?
Why don't anyone ever talk about THIS GUY?? (unless I've never seen the forum)
I think he should be one of the new playable characters.
What would his "W" name be? He looks like a Willy or a Walt, to me. lol
What would his 'abilities and flaws' be? Seeing that he wears a beefalo outfit....he could produce beefalo wool, or horns on command (at the cost of sanity)? Or maybe even poop on command, taking away from his hunger! Always befriended by the beefalo? Taming the beefalo at half the time/resources?
Hi there!
So I chose Winona.
I've got the Science Machine and the Alchemy Engine.
I'm still in Autumn.
I know I should prepare for Winter, and that I should wear warmer clothes.
But in a more specific way, what should I be crafting/making/getting next?
Thanks guys
Hi There,
Just a quick question and observation. I see that the base game Don't Starve is already on 64 bit, however the Don't Starve Together is still on 32 bit. I'm sure many other MacOS players are wondering the same thing, will there be an update from Klei in support of 64 bit for DST, ahead of the release for MacOS Catalina.
After I have updated to MacOS Catalina, will I still be able to play? What are the plans in terms of this?
Thanks in advance.
Turn of Tides:
Something ancient stirs in the night sky, and the world below will never be the same. A strange new island teeming with life has appeared, and with it, a whole new slew of challenges for our Survivors to face.
Keep a wary eye out. They’re almost here.
Key Features:
New Boat Mechanics: Don’t sink together! Build and deck out a boat large enough to carry you and your fellow Survivors across the sea.
New Seafaring Crafting Menu: Craft everything you’ll need to hit the high seas.
The Lunar Island: Explore a strange lunar landscape filled with bizarre creatures.
New Lunar Island Biomes: Discover 3 new biomes loaded with valuable new resources, craftables, and fearsome enemies.
Enlightenment: See the world from a new perspective as your Sanity is replaced by an all-new Enlightenment meter.
Console Players:
As noted in a previous post, we need extra time to get this update out to console. We expect this to take an additional 3-4 weeks (hopefully less), and we will update you with the expected date as soon as we submit to cert and have a better handle on what the date will be.
I don't think it's going to make it in for Turn of Tides but we also wanted to let console players know that we will soon be introducing something new just for you.
Currently console skin offerings are very limited because each time we put new skins on console we have to go through the entire certification process as well as the process for setting up DLC, which in the past has proven to be more time consuming than we'd hoped. However, if we instead put everything up as one package and allow them to be paid for with virtual currency, we're no longer so limited. This also brings us another step closer to providing better support for console. Consider it like being able to buy Spool to weave your items. This takes a lot of coordination with the platform and is not a main priority, so it's going to be a while. But we want console players to know a solution is coming; likely in an update following Turn of Tides.
Everybody:
Finally, we wanted to do something a bit special for all of you; just for fun. So for the next two weeks if you log into Don't Starve Together, all players on PC will receive the "Roseate Sail" so you can deck out your new boat with a little bit of style. We will offer the item for console when it goes live there as well.
We'll be updating the game with hotfixes for the issues that are most pressing, but with this update the team will now moving on to developing new content.
Now that we have this first big chunk of content out, a lot of work has been done to prepare for future updates, which should allow us a much shorter update schedule from this point forward. We expect the next content update will hit the beta branch 4 weeks from now, and after 2 weeks of testing will be live in a total of 6 weeks from today; give or take a few days (probably give). We'll have more details about the content and date in a couple weeks.
Hi there ! You know that after a character get refreshed, it get a new skin for itself but also 1 or 2 item/building Belongings, like those from the refresh of Winona and Willow :
What we can see here is that they can be suiting the character world or are corresponding to the skin added to the refresh, and they can be both character exclusive/everyone recipes.
Woodie is the next to come out and I have no idea of what items or buildings will be selected for the refresh... Since the only way to get a new Lucy is to transform it from an axe, we don't directly craft Lucy ourself, so she can't have a skin unless the devs want to make Lucy get the skin of the previous axe...
So maybe one of the two Belongings will be a flint axe, but what about the other ? And for more characters ?
Well, I wanted to make a "Prediction list and original concepts" of the Belonging we'll get after a refresh, enjoy the reads :
Wilson : Razor & Science Machine
Razor : Clearly, the only current perk of Wilson is his beard for now, so I think it's normal to get after all this time a Razor skin but let's be honest, this is as much cool as a Telltale Heart skin : You don't even see it. It's in your pockets.
I have a suggestion to fix this, different skins of razor could make a different animation or a different looks on Wilson beard after shaving, and reset when the beard grow again !
Which means that I suggest the ability to just cut a single stage of the beard on Wilson by use, and not just remove it completely !!
Science Machine : Let's not forget that Wilson is a scientist above all. It could be better to give Wilson a Science Machine skin than a AE skin cause it already have one that is cool enough. If you want to use Belongings for decoration you can afford some space tobuild a Science Machine somewhere.
Wendy : Abigail's Flower & Dark Sword
Abigail's Flower : Character's specific items should always have a skin. And I think this is what we'll have with all those updates.
I've never played Wendy but I know that many people enjoy her, so it's more your job here to tell me about it, but it could be nice if this flower give Abigail the same appearance than the Wendy's refresh skin.
Dark Sword : How do you summon Abigail ? A sacrifice ! So I guess a sacrificial knife skin is up for the ceremony !
Wickerbottom : Sleeptime Stories & On Tentacles
Sleeptime Stories : So yeah, Books are exclusive to Wicker (even if Maxwell can use them, just like anyone can use a Willow's lighter.), and you must notice that there is already a skin for a The End Is Nigh book, my problem with this one is pretty much similar to the Telltale Heart, you barely see it.
To me something visual is missing, yeah it's cool cause it's The Forge book. But what else ? If Wicker get book Belongings, they must be something more interactive (and trust me, you can configure as you like something with a skin). So my suggestion for this one could be similar to one of my post months ago on skins : (have a look if you wish) The Sleeptime Storie could play a lullaby on the area it is used and play as long there is something asleep, it could be pretty fun ^^
On Tentacles : Pretty similar idea, I'd like to get more visual effects for a book, so tentacles summoned from this book could have different assets, even if skins is purely decorative, honestly, it could be nice to consider it can help to know if it's a player or natural tentacle if you own it.
Maxwell : Codex Umbra & Meat Effigy
Codex Umbra : I'm not sure about this one, even if the characters should have their items with a skin, the Codex Umbra is beyond Maxwell himself so... Is it lore friendly to give it a skin ? If I can have an alternative look on my puppets with it, no matter what, TAKE MY MONEY KLEI !
Meat Effigy : You know, ma boi Maxwell is extremely egocentric ! So I don't know why he could like to build a Meat Effigy that looks like Wilson. I think a Wooden Maxwell's Statue will be the perfect thing to suit its frail but dapper gamestyle, always build something that suits you.
And that's pretty much it ! I don't exactly know what could it be for Wolfgang, WX78 and others without being too cliche. So now if you want to give your ideas on more characters or discuss over some I've suggestion, let's get into it !
Don't Starve Together is an awesome game and I play it with my friends all the time. Unfortunately there are some of my friends who can't run it very well. We all have Nintendo Switches and checked on the eshop for the game. Only solo don't starve, sadly. I really am hoping for a release of DST on switch as it would be amazing. Can I get any information on it? I've only seen a post from 2018 saying that DST isn't announced. It is 2019 now and I'm praying for it to come.
Thanks
Hi there.
So I recently experienced some small but annoying issue in my DST game. I was in the middle of building my mega-base storage when I noticed I cannot mark my minisigns with fireflies anymore. I know it may not be something to be furious about but I can't stand my storage with one sign unmarked properly. I'm pretty sure it was possible to draw them with feather pen earlier or maybe I'm confusing my older worlds form single player DS.
Anyways I need you guys to confirm if this also happens in your games and if yes then maybe we can make a little fuss about it here. This way our amazing devs could notice this cosmetic issue and possibly fix it in near future.
One more thing - does anyone know if there's a way to spawn marked signs via console? I was trying to do it but maybe it's not possible at all.
Also I tried to disable my mods so it's not the case I guess.
A ship has dashed upon the shores of the island and our survivors have recovered a new member to add to their team; Warly! Armed with a variety of rare ingredients and fancy cookware, Warly can't wait to spice up the lives of his newfound taste testers... er, friends, with a full-course dinner of brand new meals and invigorating spices.
Here are his details:
Warly is available for free for all DST players.
The Warly Deluxe Wardrobe is $7.99 and includes Warly's Roseate, Victorian and Trawler skin sets.
What's next?
Next on the list of Character Refreshes is somebody we think many of you are going to be excited about. We are having a bunch of fun with this one and we hope you enjoy Woodie when his refresh comes to DST early September.
NOTE: The update is currently live on PS4, but slightly delayed by Microsoft due to an issue on their end that they are working on. It shouldn't take too long to resolve.
UPDATE: Xbox has the update now!
So almost everyone know about the "Beefalo Song"- a silly song made by the devs. What if Klei felt like joking around more?
For example, on April 1st Klei'd post a "game update #-1" and it'd be something like
What yall think?
Not sure if this issue had been adressed, but I will still talk about it.
So, I have recently (Like a few days ago) noticed that you can buy some items from the DST store as DLCs on the Steam store. For example, instead of buying the Gorge bundle reskins from the DST store you can get them from the Steam store as a DLC.
What is the issue you ask? It's not ground breaking but if you buy the bundles from the in-game store, your steam wont show up that you have bought the dlc pack, but if you buy the pack from the Steam store, it will appear that you had purchased the reskin pack when you check the friends activity and when you check the bought DLCs of the game.
Is it possible to have the bundles bought via the DST Store to show on Steam aswell?
Hey Everybody.
With the introduction of Warly to Don't Starve Together on July 25th, we are also adding to the "The Crystaline Collection" with the Crystaline Icebox.
The Crystaline Icebox Icon (30 Minutes)
The Crystaline Icebox Portrait (2 Hours)
The Crystaline Icebox (6 Hours)
If you haven't set up your account for twitch drops yet, check out the spoiler below:

In this campaign we are offering 3 items. You can only receive one of each and once you have them all, you cannot get more until the next round of items.
It seems that the Guardian's lair has new generation which ensures that cheesing no longer is effective - graves are spaced farther, the pillars are placed such that the exploit no longer works.
I've seen this so far on two worlds. On one, I failed to take a screenshot after I died exploring the lair, desperately searching for the exploitables. I then rollbacked and the save was before I explored it, and also leaving me with no map data as I left to prepare for a proper fight with a statue (which will be long and drawn out no less, thanks to Rosalina's damage. Well, It's a nice balance she's got.).
On another, tho, here's a screenshot:
No grave i found was close enough to each other or the edge to be exploitable. This pillar was the only one not directly beside the edge, and it wouldn't let me reach the beast.
Can someone please confirm these on new worlds? Or have I just been extremely unlucky?
Intro:
Hey guys, this is gonna be my first big post that I've made in the forums, so don't be too picky, eh? I was just wanting to get my two-cents in on how Woodie is played as a character and what can possibly be done to him to help him out in a rework.
TLDR:
For those who don't like to read too awful much (non Wicker/Maxwell mains), Woodie is a character who harvests woods quickly with small downsides, but not the most quickly (by a longshot), and probably wouldn't be unbalanced by a few buffs (especially lategame).
About me:
I'm a Woodie main that has played around 2000 hours of DST. Most of it has been Woodie, but I have taken time to look into other characters over my time in DST. I have played through pretty much the entire game killed every boss at least once (except enraged Klaus). I personally would like to see a buff in my favorite lumberjack, but reverting him to his DS incarnation to me feels like it would make him kinda bland (though technically he would be better).
About Woodie(skip this if you know how Woodie works):
Woodie is a half-step into Maxwell's role as gatherer supreme. He has double the health of Maxwell, which lets him take more risks and take more hits. He also has active sanity abilities (cone planting) as apposed to passive regen. Woodie spawns with an axe named Lucy. Lucy chops trees faster than a normal axe, never breaks, returns to Woodie through the right methods, and does half the damage of a regular axe. Woodie also comes with a new bar/meter called beaverness/log meter. When it gets low, he turns into a werebeaver and can chop much faster, but do everything else much slower. He also loses sanity at a rapid pace while in form and cannot regen hp without assistance from another (wortox). Also note that he gets a large portion of water resistance, insulation, 25% damage reduction, and night vision in this form. He is also believed to have more follower time (Though I have not used this perk effectively in my 2000 hours of DST).
How to effectively play Woodie(skip this if you know how to do the lumberjack boi):
In order to effectively play Woodie (meaning making the most out of his perks). I've found that you have to be able to abuse the faster gnaw speed of the beaver and know how to speedclick with lucy. You also must know when to turn into werebeaver; if there are not that many trees nearby, then its a bad idea to turn. Eating logs is often a last resort and should be looked down upon if you want to effectively produce it. Taking advantage of events like full moon will also help boost the amount of wood that you can output. Make sure to watch the meter because when it hits 25 you are gonna go beaver mode and it is not ideal to be a beaver in a combat situation. Know how to deal with insanity creatures because you will most likely have to deal with them all the time if you maximize wood output. On a side note, Woodie is actually pretty decent at something I like to call beaver-scouting. Meaning exploring the whole map as beaver and taking advantage of his speed as soon as you spawn. Note that doing a strat like this is unadvised without a minimap mod as beaver can't look at his own map for some reason.
What is wrong with the wood-man(lets cut to the chase):
Woodie is not the best at his only job. The later the game gets; the more easily he can be replaced by other characters. Maxwell will outchop him and bearger will also beat both of them. For evidence of this I did a simple test and got each to chop 40 trees and pick up the wood. You can see the results yourself below. Also, beaver is very, very, very, squishy. While Maxwell may not have 150 health, at least he can wear armor. Beaver's attack is also equivalent to the damage of an axe meaning it takes forever to kill nightmare creatures and move on with your life. Finally the log meter constantly eating at you will be a problem throughout the entire game to the point that it feels like a downside on its own. Whenever a Woodie rushes the ruins, he also has to make sure to pack materials to fill up the log meter so he doesn't go beaver while fighting a damaged bishop. See what I mean? BUT despite all of this he still is my favorite character, and I will probably keep on playing him even if he doesn't get reworked. Which brings us to our last topic.
How can we make Woodie better?:
Well to be honest, it depends on what you want him to be better at. Do you want him to be a better lumberjack? Then he'll have to compete with bearger in the lategame. Do you want him to be a better combat based character? Then you will need to give beaver better stats. Although, either way, I would make it to where the beaverness meter regenerated over time rather than decreased. No need for two hunger bars man.
Woodie- the lumberjack:
If you are gonna make Woodie a better lumberjack then here are some suggestions.
The simplest would be to make him take one gnaw to dig up stumps. In order to compete with Maxwell, at least make it easier to dig up stumps.
Give him some other perks to woodgathering that are unique. Examples that I thought up are: produce an additional log per tree. Make lucy chop on her own once Woodie drops her. Make lucy return to Woodie after Woodie turns back from werebeaver.
Make picking wood up easy. Examples are: Wood directly goes into Woodies inventory whenever possible when felling a tree. Whenever Lucy is on the ground, she hops and tosses wood into piles for easy collection.
Make it easy to keep chopping: Probably remove sanity from pinecones and let the beaver gain sanity whenever it gnaws.
Finally note that in order to make Woodie the BEST at woodchopping than he would have to be better than a giant such as bearger. IF this is to be the case, then I would suggest nerfing the giants to drop less wood when chopping trees as most of it would be crushed. (Note that this is an extreme scenario, but if Woodie is going to be the best at harvesting wood, then please understand that he must topple bearger for this to be true.)
Woodie- the fighter:
If you are gonna make Woodie better at combat (especially in beaver mode) then here are some suggestions.
Give beaver back tentacle spike damage at least.
Increase defense to 80% while in beaver mode.
Allow Beaver to regen when eating wood or by some other method.
Make damage partially affect the log meter if the above is used.
Let the beaver wear some hats if you don't increase damage resistance.
Full reversion would be alright, but it would make Woodie as a lumberjack less viable I personally feel.
Conclusion:
So that's it, that's pretty much all I have to say about Woodie and the possible ways to rework him guys. Let me know if you have any other ideas / contradictions to what I have said below, and feel free to use any of my arguments/videos below Klei in your rework. Though if you have something else in mind, I'm right there with ya!
Hey everybody,
Woodie's Character refresh is coming next week on Sept. 12th! You can find the details of his refresh below but please remember as always, some of this might change a bit between now and next Thursday.
Woodie Character Refresh
We had a lot of fun with this one and we hope that all you Woodie mains out there love him even more! Some of you out there might even find a new love for the Constant's coolest Canadian castaway.
We also have a couple other interesting things happening on September 12th.
Return of Them: Salty Dog
In addition to Woodie's refresh coming into the main game, the next part of our Return of Them content update will be coming to the beta branch (with Woodie playable there as well) on September 12th. We will have more details about it next Thursday, but in this update you will see a new boss, new items, a new creature and a new crafting resource.
Console Update:
We have everything ready and we're preparing for console players to receive Woodie next week, but in addition you will also be getting Return of Them: Turn of Tides content as well! This has not gone all the way through certification yet, so it's possible it could be off a day or two, but at this time we don't expect any delays.
As always with Console, this isn't entirely up to us, so we may get a delay of a day or two while we work through certification, but as of right now we expect this to release next week as well.
That's all I have for now. We look forward to your thoughts and feedback. See you Thursday!
This is open to debate, better discuss this now rather than do it while the DEVs already post an announcement about him, it would be more productive, since Woodie is definitely on the rework list right after Willow, perhaps he will come after Warly is officially in game, so the time is now. Let's just take the constructive way and actually say what specificaly we want and pinpoint specifically what we don't want or disagree, and have a discussion about it, while keeping things as solid as possible, down to specifics. I think the best start is to present a base, so people can take that idea and begin this exchange of opinions. I’m just going to divide the general position i've observed the community in general present through many discussions in the past, mixed with mine, in very clear points:
1. We don’t want something new.
Nobody is interested in something new for Woodie, unless It’s werebeaver swimming, boomerang lucy or 200 hp Woodie like in forge, then we simply do not want something new. We just want DS Woodie into DST as much as possible, without second life of course, a large part of the community already loves Woodie for what he is in DS and they, myself included, just think he needs tweaks and some buffs to something he already has for him to be perfect and fun.
Klei is completely free to surprise us, but I REALLY don’t think the community really asks that.
2. We just want Woodie being a Fighter as much as a Resource Gatherer.
Woodie is supposed to be a Fighter and a Resource gatherer, and currently he’s not the best at neither of them, at both DS and DST. Yet on DS he’s really fun still, because his fighter side remains.
Werebeaver primary assets to regain, should be armor at the top of his priorities, he needs armor to farm poison birchnuts and keep being the best living log farmer, only topped by the WormTox(ic) combo. Next he regains his DS damage, so he can one shot birchnutters and be actually more helpful than a guy with a spear. Also he needs to heal with logs, cheaper doesn't necessarily mean broken in this case, log healing isn't really that broken when you can't use your inventory nor modify your attack damage on top of the time it is wasted eating logs, while your sanity decreases. When you get into mid-game Werebeaver loses a lot of his warrior side to a simple Wilson with armor and a dark sword, that's why i also want some improvement on Woodie himself.
As for the insanity drain, if the tree sanity stays, then it could stay but maybe debuff it a little bit, it is a healthy and fun downside that makes you WANT to replant trees, it’s the only good thing DST Woodie has shown, everybody goes to caves with their cooked green/blue mushrooms, meanwhile you just bring a cheap stack of tree seeds from your farmings, it’s great.
3. Werebeaver needs to swim
Woodie SUCKS in SW in both theory and practice due to the lack of ground involvement playstyle, plus the irrelevance of trees in SW. Woodie’s fun playstyle came from being able to explore the world, smashing and munching everything and feel unrestricted, but suddenly he can’t swim? Even though beavers are good swimmers? Nonsense. I know there’s terrible downsides in DS, but a downside that is literal death if? It’s just terrible.
But if Werebeaver swims, what’s the use of boats? Well, we can mess with his swimming speed; he doesn’t have to be fast nor he needs to compete or qualify as a boat on the first place. He should be able to kill in water with the same resistance and everything, in SW there’s different types of boat attachments, even though people just end up using 2, the inventory one and the fast one, at the end of the day, those are the relevant ones. Werebeaver lacks inventory and his speed could be adjusted, so using a boat as Woodie would still have benefits over swimming with Werebeaver asumming DST is going to provide us with similar mechanics in SW.
4. If we could buff Woodie to 200hp, it would be pretty neat.
This isn’t that mandatory at all like the above, but hear me out, Wolfgang is super sturdy, full of energy when hunger is at max, so high HP makes sense, Wigfrid is not a sturdy woman but rather an experienced fighter, whether it’s acting or not, so I’m guessing she has higher HP because she dodges most of the time due to again, her experience, WX-78 is a robot who upgrades himself, Webber is slightly more resistant for being a monster, but he’s still a child so the Max HP is more minor, but if we keep looking at the rest of the characters, who’s next? Woodie, he should be next in line for a max HP buff, why not? He’s a strong lumberjack who chops trees in like, what? 5, 6 Swings? Not to mention Woodie already had 200hp in the forge, making him a tank on top of a runner and Wigfrid had 150hp. So this doesn’t come out of nowhere.
5. Now, if we could make him the best lumberjack …
Many people believe Woodie deserves to be the best wood collector (I personally don’t really mind if he is though), some even suggesting nerfing Maxwell just for Woodie to be the best, which is a no no for me. I hate the idea of debuffing ANY DS character in general. However, Maxwell could get reworked so he has better assets or more specific focuses, sacrificing some of his wood collection speed in the process, I don’t want him to just lose some attributes to make someone else better, while he gains nothing.
So, for this point, the community either wants the DEVs buffing Woodie’s wood collection speed, or reworking/debuffing Maxwell so he loses wood collection speed so Woodie can come up on top.
6. (MANDATORY) Planks need to give 30 ~ 40 log meter.
Period. Also if you could buff Woodie’s Axe, Lucy, to do AT LEAST flint axe damage, it would be great.
7. (SUPER MANDATORY) Needs an actual good hairstyle on the rework skin.
So! That’s all. I just want Woodie to be fun again, I care more about fun than “balance”, so if he comes up as OP then good because, in all my experience in this game, apparently being OP and useful, even on a single aspect, makes me have fun, and like always, let’s keep this discussion civil and as constructive as possible. I apologize if there's spelling mistakes, as english isn't my primary language.
