wx overcharging cap?

does wx has a overcharging cap in DST? 

in hamlet i could overcharge me and i was staying for 50 days overcharged. im playing wx for the first time in DST and i got charged from wicker like 100 times but i lost the charging after ~30 days. coundt found anything about a cap on the wiki. so am i really so bad in counting... xxxD

hi, i wanted to ask if there is a console command to delete for example all twigs which are lying on the ground. but not the ones in inventory and chests. 

after a while my world is full with twiggy trees and rot  and... Im always trying to keep it clean but its hard (still on very slow regrow)

i have always to delete all twiggy trees (c_removeall("twiggytree") and then bundle all my twigs and rot which we have in chests and then i can delete twigs and rot in the world. it would make it so easier if there is a way just to delete the ones lying on the ground.

there is a mod "no twiggy tree" but if i used it then i get twigssaplings growing evrywhere. like in the ruins and evrywhere where they shoudnt grow. its maybe cause  ive the worldsettings for twigs on "less". its kinda a bug maybe. cause if you make your worldsettings for trees on less (without using mods) you get trees growing evrywhere. decidious trees growing in savannah, swamp, caves ruins....

anyway xxD hope someone can help me. thx for reading

Ok RTgames, hybrid panda, Grian, Sjin, Mumbo jumbo, these are just 5 youtubers I found (there are plenty more I assume) that are being sponsored to fake liking the game, we all know it, they’ll praise it, make a fake story, play a little, recieve their money, then ditch the game entirely. I don’t really understand why they’re doing this, yes it might net a few new players, but I feel that this is a little low road for the company, and honestly I’m sick of one off don’t starve videos, because the game deserves more then that

About sanity - survey

Lately I have read many interesting ideas to improve sanity, perceiving the desire of many players (including myself) to see innovation on this parameter, so interesting but that seems to be able to give much, much more to the gameplay.
Infuse I believe that sanity is the real flagship of DS (despite the name), and so what would be more fresh and interesting in the new update, if not a change in the sanity?
I hope this poll can really give Klei some little nice ideas.

Don't Starve Together Roadmap 2019

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since I’ve made a post here, I’d like to share with you our plans for 2019, which are extensive!

First, I’d like to recap what happened in 2017/2018:
In 2017 we launched the Forge, and followed it up in 2018 with the Gorge. The idea was that we could offer a new way of playing Don’t Starve Together, in a limited-time format. We were a bit burned out on creating DST core game content and this format allowed us to try something a bit different, so we made these crazy game modes and provided them to the community for free.

Every time we launched these events, tons of players came to play, and in every instance we hit our highest ever DST concurrency. We’re super thrilled that so many people came to play the our weird game events!

While we enjoyed the events and are happy with the result, there were some drawbacks: 

  • They took WAY longer to make than we expected, so we weren’t able to make as much content as we wanted, and it left little time to do things like bug fixes and Quality of Life updates for the base game.
  • Because we run the servers for these events, we also incurred the cost of these servers. Those of you who have been here a while know that Don’t Starve was not architected to be a multiplayer game, so running them on our servers was extremely inefficient. In short, even though we loved that everyone came to play, the item sales were only barely covering the costs of the servers.
  • We found that it was exceedingly difficult for us to run these events on console and as such underserved our console players.

It has been a valuable experience and we think the game is better for it, however we feel that it’s time that we turn our attention back to the core Don’t Starve Together experience: surviving together. 

Here’s what we’re doing for 2019:

Brand New Content
The team is now working on brand new content for Don’t Starve Together. Survivors will be able to travel to new lands with new biomes, creatures, and more. 

The first drop of this new content will come in mid-April, and we will continually be adding to the content every couple months afterward. As we said before, we think it’s important that everyone can play together and we don’t segregate our audience, so all of this content will be available for free to everyone!

Character Refreshes
The team also felt it was high time we gave our core cast some love (yes, we heard you). Over the course of the next year, we will be bestowing every character with revamped abilities, and give a glimpse into their backstory. Our goals here are to make each character unique, interesting and valuable in their own right and we expect this to be game changing in many ways.

Starting in March with Winona, we will be releasing a character refresh once a month.

These character refreshes will again be free to all players, and we will be selling new skins for these characters on the month they are refreshed. 

In addition, the Triumphant, Guest of Honor and Survivor skin packs will be available to purchase for the character on that date. All owners of these skins prior to that date will be upgraded to an “Heirloom” rarity, with a higher unraveling value.

New Characters Enter the Fray
A fresh batch of four characters have been unwittingly ensnared and brought into the world. These new survivors will be released into the wild starting in Mid-March, and a new one will be released every 2 months.

We are still deciding the final price of these characters, but we currently think they will be $6.99 USD each, which includes a full character skin set. You will also be able to weave the characters with spool.

Since we do not want to charge players for the new world content, these new characters will be our main way to fund development of this new content.

Console Development
We are working hard on keeping the console versions of the game up to date. Specifically, we are investing in technology to allow us to more quickly update the game without going through lengthy certification on every small change, and we've also added more staff to work exclusively on updating the console versions.

We're happy to say that the next update for the Year of the Pig King event will launch within 2 days of the PC version.


Quality of Life, Twitch Drops, Etc.
We will also be continually updating the game with bug fixes, QoL updates, new skins for Twitch drops, and more things that we’re not quite ready to announce yet. 

Speaking of which, the Year of the Pig King update is going live on Thursday! Long Live the (Pig) King!

In short, we are significantly increasing our support of Don’t Starve Together in 2019 with new game content, character refreshes, new stories to be told, new characters, and new skins.

Weird Headcannons

I just sometimes imagine how one character might interact with another and I laugh out loud. Than people wonder why I'm laughing, and dang ain't that awkward.

Anyway, wondering if people do the same thing, and if so, what do they imagine characters doing? XD.

 

I mean things like,

  • Wendy is the closest thing WX has as a friend among the survivors due to her morbid views on life.
  • Wolfgang thinks the reason Maxwell is so grumpy is because he wasn't hugged enough as a child. He tries to rectify this by giving Maxwell bear-hugs.
  • Wilson and Maxwell constantly attempt to one-up each other with science and magic respectively. This usually ends up bringing a lot of trouble to the group.
  • Wes likes hanging out with Wigfrid the most because he thinks of her as a fellow actor just dedicated to her roll, like he is.

You know, silly small things like that. Anyone else here?

Can we make a petition for Klei to let us disable INSANITY sound effects?

I love this game but the one thing that bothers me the most is when I'm on a journey while having my sanity pretty low and no way to regain it quickly and I have to listen to the insanity ear ringing for many minutes, sometimes even over half an hour and it gets super annoying.

 

It would be amazing to just have a simple option of disabling the ear ringing sound or making it more quiet please Klei I beg you!

Request to Port Over Hamlet + SW Characters

Ill start this off by saying I am of the opinion that major support for single player should have stopped when Don't Starve Together came out. It made little sense to me that time and effort were being used on what is essentially a less refined DST. I understand the argument of the players who want to play don't starve alone, but I feel that Klei could have easily scaled enemies and mechanics to be fit for single player and multiplayer. It was very confusing to me that the entire Hamlet DLC was designed and released for single player, while DST had a much larger community.  Now we are in this awkward state of having two versions of the same game receiving different amounts of support and content. I am not sure whether or not these two games have the same dev team working on them or not, but it is just weird either way. Anyways, it has been made clear that Hamlet and SW will most likely never come to DST. This is a real shame, as I feel a massive amount of content and potential was wasted. I understand that asking for DST Hamlet and SW might not be reasonable at this point, but I believe at least porting over characters from these DLCs would be reasonable. I believe that the latest Hamlet characters have been some of Klei's best character design. Both Wormwood and Wilba have strong INTERESTING perks that come with difficult downsides that change the way you play. SW characters are designed for their DLC, but I think they could just be reworked later on after the original set of characters have received their updates.

How would I do this? Well, I would prefer if Klei were to just release them all in one free update, but I understand how issues could arise from that. I think the most reasonable way to do it would be to give the characters to the owners of that DLC. What I mean by this is if you owned SW or Hamlet you would receive that DLC's characters to be used in DST too. I think this would add a pretty hefty chunk of content to the game and maybe a good chunk later on if those characters were to get tweaked to fit more into DST.

But, yeah.. It is such a massive shame to see all those characters left on single player without a hope to ever come to multiplayer. I don't see many ways that this could be a bad thing and I feel that it would give some more value to the DLCs.

"Something Went Away While Connecting"

     I had been trying to do a ruins rush with Wes (third time in ruins), and it was going very well, until I realized I had forgotten to craft the refine ropes for my football helmets, and died shortly after.  I than proceeded to re-spawn with too many items to see how far I could have gotten (not very far) and proceeded to regenerate the world.  

    This is where it gets weird, instead of being brought up to a character select screen, got a message saying "Something Went Away While Connecting, please try again."  (This was single-player)  After clicking 'ok' I was brought back to the title screen, except there was no volume, Even clicking the "Play" button did not make the clicking noise.  Confused as heck I Quit and joined back again, half expecting an April Fools popup, but the world I had regenerated before was indeed regenerated.

   Has anyone else experienced anything similar, as I was familiar wit the mods I had, and have played around 10 hours (at least) with each of them, I'll list them below anyways.

I plan to run a personal DST sever for my friend,but I don't know what kind of computer can run it.

Are E5-2670 and 8gX2 memories can run the sever without lags?

Loving Wortox

Hey everyone! It's been a while. I just got back into this game, and picked up the Wortox DLC. I'm really liking this character so far! His voice and comments are really interesting, and I think he offers some fun gameplay. I feel like he's also really well-balanced, and like how he can teleport as far as you can see. It would have been really easy to make him only teleport halfway, but I think this lets us do more. I'm certainly enjoying playing as him. I also really like how he's a Fey creature rather than a generic evil demon. I didn't see that coming.

And yeah, that's pretty much it. I'm liking the DLC, and wanted to say that I have returned to the game and forums XD Anyone else on here from a couple years ago?

Speculation on Woodie Revamp

I'm curious to hear what all people think Woodie might get in his update (I can't wait to see his video). I feel like the Werebeaver will be getting some serious buffs, though I'm not sure what else. Maybe he'll be able to create a special trap for rabbits/animals? Maybe the werebeaver will be able to wear a saddle or pull a sled? Werebeaver armor? XD Not sure, but looking forward to finding out.

 

What are your thoughts? What would you add to him, and why?

I was looking forward to Winona being potentially a nice character, as before she was quite lackluster. Unfortunately from the get go, it was clear she still has glaring faults that sink her to a lower tier:

The hunger loss per craft is too crippling at 5 per craft. With the amount of crafting you do in the early game for every little thing, new tools, light sources, refining materials to go into larger crafts, you lose more hunger than a Wolfgang by comparison. If this were 2.5 hunger lost per craft, It would still be a decent penalty, but as it stands Winona's the biggest food vacuum right now. With the her slower crafting kicking in at 50 hunger, it only takes 18 crafts to drain 100 hunger. Paired with the standard hunger loss over time, it really is a little bit of an issue. There's also the possibility of increasing her hunger gauge from 150-200 as an alternative, but with that you run the risk of her having higher hunger overall when not crafting anything in the mid to late game. It's better to nerf the hunger loss per craft in my opinion.

Her Generator not being able to be turned off, this is something many find to be a large issue as well. It will drain within a day quite easily when hooked up to a meager 2 catapults while not really being used. I've seen that there is slight worry that it would be "too good" if you were able to turn it on/off or have an Emergency Mode, but I must disagree, for reasons I'll cover below with the Catapult itself. On top of that, it costs Nitre or Gems, making it quite difficult to refuel in the early game (Nitre isn't as plentiful as Rocks [materials] are, it could possibly use a buff to 3 Nitre dropped from each normal rock mining point, since Winona will be using so much of it now).  There is also the option of making a Charcoal powered generator. Above all though, an off switch would likely be the best option.

Edit: There's been pretty concrete proof that the catapults are pretty good vs Bosses, so if they were more accurate, that may make them pretty OP. The only buff they might actually need is not to attack allied fences/walls. The Catapult itself is sadly also lackluster, mostly due to its lack of accuracy. I know that it's meant to be a "power in numbers" type of unit, but the tracking on it isn't stellar for faster targets. It will airball on hounds / spiders that are chasing a player quite often, and might even be the primary target for the mob if there are no fences around it (Frog Rain possibly will be the largest destruction of Catapults). Rocks go into a fair amount of things early game for everyone on the server, so at 15 rocks per unit for something that isn't terribly accurate, I can't really justify making any over Tooth Traps- especially with how much fuel it drains. The damage it does is the same as a Battle Spear, which is honest damage that I'm fine with, but it's still pretty inaccurate- since it doesn't end up getting a lot of direct hits, it might need a Splash Radius buff.

There is a lot of promise in Winona now, but in worrying about her becoming Overpowered, she's sadly still Underpowered. Clearly we don't want massive buffs that will break the game, but just a couple nudges here and there that will make her more balanced overall while still having her downsides.
