Hi All! I hope I'm asking this question in the right place.

I'm hosting a game night within my gaming group, and we're playing Don't Starve Together! Normally these game nights only last for about 4 or 5 hours, and we have around 15 people participating. The goal is to introduce the game to a bunch of people and to simply have fun together. I know that to really play this game it can take more time and learning, so I was hoping you all could help me out a bit. 

What can I do on a dedicated server to make the game fun and engaging for a single night for around 15 people? 

I have one idea which is to split the players up on a pvp server and make them be 2 warring groups. Each group would have maybe 5 or so days before actually seeking out the other group is allowed. The first team to wipe the other one out is the winner. Does anyone have experience with something like this? Any ideas on how I can make this happen and be as smooth as possible? 

My other idea was to split the people into groups (not sure how many) and have them solve a puzzle that involved them collecting or crafting certain items in the world and returning them to the starting gate. The first group that has the correct items and places them in the right order would win. I guess it's sort of like a riddle + treasure hunt ideas. Anyone done something like this before? Any tips on what items they could be so that it isn't impossible to do within a few hours?

I would love to hear all of your ideas and feedback. Again, I really just want to introduce this game to some more people and hopefully spark some interest in playing the normal mode together regularly. This game has such a huge range of mechanics and possibilities!

Hey everyone. When I fight dragonfly on DST, she will start spawning her little lavae. Once they all die, she'll go back and spawn another set of lavae. I expected her to become enraged instead of going back to spawn more. Is this normal behavior? If so, is there a way to stop her from spamming them back to back?

When I created the world I noticed that Krampus is now Krampii. Maybe I'm just forgetful and he was krampii?

And... We're back!

As we mentioned previously, we're bringing back the Forge for another Limited time event. 

We have added some stuff and changed things up a little bit so we're going to open The Forge a little early for some good old-fashioned "Let's see if anything breaks before it goes live and hopefully you can keep your progress" beta testing. Yay!

We're warming up servers and getting everything ready to go. These few days of testing will help us iron out any issues before things go live. In particular, we need to stress test the servers all over the world to make sure they hold up.

The Beta begins on November 5th, however The Forge will be open for everybody in November 8th. If you’d like to join in the Beta, please follow the instructions below. 

We hope that you will be able to keep your progress from the beta. But there is a very strong possibility that something will be broken causing us to lose progress. Please be prepared for this possibility as we will not be attempting to compensate for this occurrence - if you can't deal with losing everything, wait till everything goes live officially.

What is The Forge?
The Forge is a limited time event for Don’t Starve Together. During this time players can earn event themed skins and rewards that are only dropped during the event. 

Yeah, but WHAT is The Forge?
The Forge is a limited time 6-player co-op challenge, where the goal is to try and defeat Battle Master Pugna's champions in an arena. The only way to survive will be to work together.

The Forge is played on official Klei servers that are available only during the event. There are no community hosted servers during this event. 

What else is in The Forge?

• This years Forge has had many balance content and progression changes. 
• Character skins, emotes, item skins and more. Including skins from last season with hundreds of items.
• Free on-demand dedicated event servers (Forge Only).
• Simple Matchmaking with friends / community groups.
• Event drop system (Forge only).
• And more!

What kind of feedback are you looking for?
First, we really want to know if something is broken. But we’re also looking for gameplay feedback. If you find a security vulnerability or gameplay exploit, we ask that you send it to us directly at livesupport@kleientertainment.com so that we don’t have issues with abuse. Please also include your steam id so we can investigate and follow-up on the issue properly.

If I play the regular game during the event, can I still earn skins?
You can. However, with one big difference. All common drops will now reward an event chest that contains Forge event items. Regular common items will return after the event. 

Is The Forge free?
Yes! Events are free for everyone who owns DST. Players will have the option to purchase a single character’s Magmatic Skin Set for $2.99, or the entire Magmatic Chest collection for $12.99. 

We hope that with this mechanism, we can both continue creating great free content while also supporting the development team. In addition, this method of funding allows us to provide content to all our players, instead of splitting the player community if we implemented it with a DLC paywall.

Why is The Forge temporary?

We get this question a lot. The Forge runs on official servers that we pay for and provide free of charge. Playing on official servers means that we have more control over the rewards we can provide during the event. Because we designed the event around this, we designed the gameplay to be played for a short time. 

What about Forge Chests?
While we think it’s fun to get and open random drops, in terms of purchasing we felt it was better if players could buy the skins directly. We hope you feel the same!

When does the Forge end? 
The Beta will last until The Forge officially opens, right now scheduled for Nov 8th. For the full launch, The Forge will last 3 weeks from the time it launches and we expect it to launch around the second week of November, but we don’t have a solid date yet. 

Can I keep the items I gain during the Beta?
We hope that you will be able to keep your progress from the beta. But there is a very strong possibility that something will be broken causing us to lose progress. What is available during the Beta?

Sorry I dont see a "Technical issues" forum.

Basicaly there's a delay of about 30 actual seconds in my commands. The "host performance" is always good, and my "Client performance" is always good. Ports are forwarded and the firewall is even turned completely off. Internet speed is around 7mbps. The ping listed in the games Im joining is anywhere from 60 to 120. I can also see the other player walking around me perfectly fine as if Im watching it on their computer, which I dont think I would see if the connection was bad. I can run Dont Starve perfectly fine on my own though.

so i just opened the game and this gift box appeared and said "thanks for play ROG" the problem is, i dont have rog. is this normal? or just some kind of bug?

Guys!!! I just saw this item in-game and the sparkles that fly off of the Goatsherd Walking Cane are amazing and I just need to have this item, please tell me if I can purchase it or if it is only a Forge-only item, or if it can be obtained as a random reward drop item. Please and thank you!!!

I just sometimes imagine how one character might interact with another and I laugh out loud. Than people wonder why I'm laughing, and dang ain't that awkward.

Anyway, wondering if people do the same thing, and if so, what do they imagine characters doing? XD.

I mean things like,

• Wendy is the closest thing WX has as a friend among the survivors due to her morbid views on life.
• Wolfgang thinks the reason Maxwell is so grumpy is because he wasn't hugged enough as a child. He tries to rectify this by giving Maxwell bear-hugs.
• Wilson and Maxwell constantly attempt to one-up each other with science and magic respectively. This usually ends up bringing a lot of trouble to the group.
• Wes likes hanging out with Wigfrid the most because he thinks of her as a fellow actor just dedicated to her roll, like he is.

You know, silly small things like that. Anyone else here?

So like u're sawing on the tittle, this is a strange episode of my normal plays in my main world, this happened right now and I wanted to show it because it's really cool and interesting to see (well u didn't saw it but ya know whow this is going to be narrated).

In my day 674-5 I was doing the same ritual a normal don't starve player do on spring: farm some Goose/Goose & Moslings for the down feathers.

Usually this boss spawns near the puddles with berry bushes, I walk to fight them (one is literally in my base and another is next the marble pieces setpiece), but they didn't spawn on two spawn point I searched.

Fortunately two Goose nests usually spawn near my base, so I go and killed the Two Goose; but there's the strange thing, the mosling didn't enrage, so I hit one of them to force another Goose spawn and when she spawned the group of 5 orphan mosling that didn't had a Goose grouped together with the other mosling group.

So there was 10 moosling waiting to cut my ass of whe I finished to kill that other Goose/Goose, and they do it X3X/.

Obviously I didn't die (I was prepared with bone armor, nightmare fuel and pierogies), but it's was really cute how all of the babies group together to stay safe near the new big mom, it was like in real life when a group of baby ducks lost his mother and them or they find her or just group with another herd if the duck mom whant to adopt them.

Obviously I got some extra loot, I really doesn't have any use rn because I don't want to rush the ruins again, and I want to finish the decoration of my base.

Hey Everybody. 

Things have been a bit quiet around here after The Gorge so that we can regroup, prioritize and start on upcoming content for Don't Starve Together. A big thanks to our community for your patience while we worked everything out. We saw posts for those wondering what we're up to next, suggestions and feedback as well as those of you who ensured others that we would update you all when we had more info. 

Some games are calling their yearly content schedule "Seasons" - if we were doing so, we're officially kicking off "Season 3". We haven't put a cool marketing name on events yet because we're still building upon what that even means.

Just like last year, this next year will build upon existing content even more than the year before.  

I have a lot of information for you today about a lot of different things -  so let's get to it. 

Klei Accounts: 

We have created a new page where players can view their Klei Account information. Right now the functionality is limited to a few things such as changing your email or server setup, but we'll be adding more functionality to allow you greater control over your Klei Account. This is available today, check it out. 

Twitch Drops:

Beginning today all players who have their Twitch Account linked to their Klei Account will be able to get drops when watching a DST stream on Twitch. These items are exclusive loyal items exclusive to Twitch.tv. These items will drop on any DST stream where the streamer has linked their Twitch account to their Klei Account. We wanted to get this going as soon as possible so we can make use of Twitch drops and Klei Accounts in future content plans. 

The Holiday Events Return

Speaking of future content plans,With a few new Tricks and Treats, Hallowed nights returns in October. We'll post more info about the details and an exact date soon.  Hallowed Nights returns October 25th!

With that, we kick off the holiday season event schedule. Returning this year with all holiday events including Winter's Feast and Lunar New Year. 

The Return of The Forge

Coming later this year, The Forge Returns bigger and better than ever with new items, creatures and community driven goals. You can look forward to more information about the return of The Forge as we get closer to release, but we wanted to let you know that it's coming.  

Today's update.  

Today's update is entirely a Quality of Life update. We wanted to get in some changes and fixes for some issues we want corrected before we focus entirely on this coming round of event content. 

We're adding in some server filtering options to allow players to hide bad server names, we now have special flagging for servers that are official Klei Servers. We've also made a big change to the main menu that now includes important news and announcements about DST. 

We found that during recent events that not as many players were aware of announced content as we would to have liked. In an effort to make sure more people see this information we will be showing it in the main menu area. We'll make sure that all important news that players should be aware of is posted in there so you know what's coming up for the game. My dear Wolfgang managed to trap himself while being sane and of course I mocked him by taking a screenshot and weeks later finding myself trapped in this too while being sane.

However, The field where you would normally type "Infernus" and submit is not visible on my page in my browser... I've tried reloading, using several browsers and restarting my pc and nothing makes the typing box appear... Has this bug been addressed by other players? I can't possibly be the only one having this issue...

Juat A Place To Find People To Play With

i can't type any message with korean... i'm noob and playing with mac os x. i want to play with my friends but i cannot type korean so i cannot talk with my friends.. PLZ HELP MEEEeeeeee

Im not sure if my game is bugged or Im stupid (most likely the latter case), but the Totally Normal Bats that spawn when chopping tree dont seem to appear at all. 

1. I chopped down entire forest. No bats

2. I spawned in 300 hundred evergreens, made wilson auto-chop with 15 golden axes. Came back from lunch, checked the recording. No bats

3. Rummaged through script files. Found battreefx.lua, looked through the script, nothing about spawn chance I can meddle with. No bats.

am I missing something?

I'm sure this has done before, but I got about a day left to kill before the Forge beta comes out, so... I've been thinking there's a lot of cool designs that the devs put into DS and DST that I feel are often overlooked. They don't need to be there, but they are, or we just take them for granted. And with all the hard work with pumping out these events and doing their best on keeping us updated, I feel like we owe the devs some gratitude.

One of the things that I found really cool in Don't Starve was the variety of dishes that can be made with a crockpot, people don't really bother to make a lot of these it seems. Just dragonpies and meatballs, but still I like that they're there for new players to explore, to make if you feel like, or just appreciate how cutely drawn they are. Another thing I really like are all the examination quotes the survivors have; like Wilson's dad-style jokes, subtle references, or development on characters and their backgrounds.

Anyways, what do you guys like in DST that you feel doesn't get enough credit?
