Hi, I boguht a mega pack since 2015 and I got all of the pack, but I read that after the early access I must get a new copy of Dont Starve Together, but I didnt get it. I already look for it in the invetory but I only have some stickers. (Sorry for my bad english)

How to remove player pointer icon?

Hello there.  I'm Admin of a server group and part of what we do is make sure no griefers burn down anyone's base.  I've been looking into commands to make myself invisible.  So far I have everything mostly working except I can't figure out how to remove the player proximity icon from myself when I'm near others.  I looked into the Player_common lua file but I'm stumped. Anyone have any ideas?

 

 

Another admin was testing it with me and we got everything to work except I can't figure out how to remove this icon.

What to consider when walling up pig torches

We have a four-torch set piece on our map that we're thinking of developing as a secondary base because of the perpetual light. Will regular stone walls do? Will the pigs attack the walls when not in their werepig state and will the walls be preserved if players simply stay away from that base during the full moon?

Some people who do this bait the pigs with something edible they can't reach so that they don't aggro even when wered-out. Is that necessary and if so, do we need to set bait for each pig, or will one central item do the trick? Would appreciate any advice from anyone who's done this.

Boss Difficulty Scale

Anyways, this is a list of mine I've been working on that orders every boss and raid boss in DST by difficulty.

 

S+ (the hardest)

Misery Toadstool

The is the hardest boss in the game, misery toadstool, comes in with increased damage than its predecessor, and a record hp amount, 99,999, making him the hardest boss in DST.

Summoning: Blow up a "Volatile" Canary on toadstool stump, then chop it.

Tips: A Maxwell/Bunch of Weather Pains greatly help out with this fight. Don't bring hambats.

S (Second hardest)

Ancient Fuel Weaver.

Of all of the raid bosses, AFW has the lowest hp (tied with Ancient Guardian) at 10,000. Despite this, the Fuel Weaver is insanely difficult boss, being next to impossible solo.

Summoning: Find the Ruin Atrium via a giant tentacle portal, then find the portal, insert an "Ancient Key" (drop from Ancient Guardian) into the portal, build the correct formation of the skeleton, and then use a shadow atrium on it (drop from a level three Shadow Piece)

Tip: Nightmare Amulet and Weather Pain help out loads with this boss. 

S- (Third hardest) Worst Boss.

Bee Queen.

This boss is a complete mess. The supposed Queen of Bees is effectively a tank/crowd control fest. 

Summoning: Hammer a giant beehive in the Bee Biome. (the one with Killer Bee Hives)

Tips: A Wigfrid is a must for this fight, and Wendy can act as a discount Wigfrid if a Wigfrid isn't available. Scale Mail and Beekeeper hat can help out too. (switch out Scale Mail for Log Suit/Nightmare Armor when the Queen is almost dead)

A+:

Dragonfly:

A former seasonal giant, the dragonfly is basically a discount Bee Queen. 

Location: Found in a set piece in the "drylands" (sphereical cacti, no oasis) desert.

Tips: wall off the lava pools with stone walls.

Toadstool:

Similar to the misery toadstool, the toadstool just does less damage, and only has half the misery toadstool's hp (50,000)

Summoning: Chop down one of the purple mushrooms found in random set pieces in the caves.

Tips: same as misery toadstool.

B+:

Shadow Pieces:

Pointless gateway boss.

Summoning: Create a knight, a rook, and a bishop statue out of either cut stone or marble. place them next to each other. then, wait for a new moon. When it is new moon, chant the holy nome prayer backwards ten times, whilst tap dancing in a Gandalf costume with Foodfight playing the background hammer the statues

Tips: idk do it with friends, third level bosses can't be kited without speed boosts or teleports.

Klaus:

Second easiest raid boss. Has two gem deer which can freeze or burn targets.

Summoning: use one of the deer horns (dropped from a no-eyed deer running into a tree during winter) on the randomly spawning treasure bag.

Tips: DO NOT KILL THE GEM DEER. Use the cane to avoid gem deer AoE  freeze/burn and the phase 2 Klaus's leap

B:

Antlion:

My least favorite boss, hardest seasonal giant.

Summoning: when in summer, feed the Antlion a fully frozen, warm, or hot thermal stone. Antlion is found in "Lightening Bluff" (Regular cactus, has oasis) Desert.

Tips: This boss sucks.

Ancient Guardian:

Easiest raid boss. Literally a Clockwork Rook with more HP and a close range attack after his/her/its charge attack.

Location: found in the "Labyrinth" ruins biome.

Tips: just fight him like a clockwork rook. Bring a friend.

Deerclops:

We all know this one, so why explain it. Second hardest seasonal giant

Spawns: During the night of day 30 (normally), spawns randomly every winter following.

Tips: Bring a Tam O' Shanter + a couple of logsuits. Also bring a hambat/few tentacle spikes or a few dark swords if available. Cooked cactus flesh/some good sanity restoration items are a must.

C:

Goose/Goose:

Second easiest seasonal giant. 

Spawns: Beginning of spring, lays eggs in multiple of the random collections of twigs around the world. Spawns also when the mosslings that hatched from the egg are harmed

Tips: Frog rain.

Spider Queen:

Second easiest "other" boss.

Spawns: Randomly from T3 Spider dens.

Tips: don't even bother, they aren't worth your time.

D:

Treeguard:

Second easiest boss, easiest "other" boss.

Spawns: when enough trees are cut down in a frame of time.

Tips: None needed, they are a complete push over. Taking them on solo is the best course of action.

F:

Bearger:

Absolutely the easiest boss. 

Spawns: at the beginning of the second of autumn, and the beginning of any autumn following.

Tips: Just bring him/her/it/garbage through a large/dense forest. The Treeguards that inevitably spawn from garbage's rampage will defeat garbage easily. Also, you will score loads of resources in the process.

Hoy guys, A couple hundred days ago in my world, I hacked down the glommer statue like a stoopid. Is there a command thing to build it back?? Is it doable?

About Maxwell.. (frustrated)

I really want to like him so badly. I've forced myself to play him for well over 30hrs. It was a frustrating and tiresome experience. I really like his personality and monologue. His health can be managed with care. The downside for me is the shadow puppets. They are presented as a benefit and beg to be used even after they prove their infuriating qualities.

For the benefit of cutting wood quickly I get to spend every other moment running away from tress hoping I was quick enough to stop them from clear cutting everything especially the twiggy tress in my base. I could dispel them sure; but then I get to waste two days farming fuel. The miner and digger cost just as much and face the same AI issues but are only useful some of the time. I won't even go into the duelists, which really should be the redeeming light for Maxwell. They are not.

Being able to read books is fine. Rarely see Wickerbottom. In fact I usually play solo because most people join, say "Where the base" wander around for a few minutes then leave after dying in darkness. (That's what I've experienced during 80hrs+ in DST.) 

I've seen a dozen threads complaining about Maxwell being underwhelming, they are reminded that Maxwell is more of a gatherer. He's more like a destructive nuisance. In every thread I scroll through hoping to hear from development about how they feel. I wondered if they themselves played the game with the community. Did they meet up later and say "Yeah this is fine, works great."

The sale brought a lot of new players. Any links to the Devs commenting on Maxwell?

I might give in and go with everyone's champ Wolfgang. ;\

 

 

 

Charlie's Sister [Spoilers]

Anyways so recently, there is a rumor going around that Charlie's sister Winona may be added into the game as a playable character. People have been claiming they even found numerous, numerous dialogue strings for her in the code; which have just recently disappeared. The dialogue actively referenced themes such as Winona being familiar with the factory workplace and mechanics, Maxy which was Charlie's nickname for Maxwell - Waxwell - William and that there is a potential feature which gives Winona one free hit from Charlie in the darkness.

Highly unlikely this is a prank from the developers for April Fools seeing as that would just be an incredibly poor way to infuriate the fanbase, Perhaps this may even be a prank made by fans themselves who are all falsely claiming that something existed in the code which isn't. But would like to believe people do not suck that much.

There is a mod for Winona, but it is apparently very outdated and the text strings found include dialogue for very modern updates to the game like the Atrium. So it could not be some player accidentally viewing a mod they installed as a part of the core game.

Would also like the believe if it was fake the developers would step in to disprove it all to save the playerbase a massive disappointment.

 

However the developers are also very well aware that any coding they put into the game is blatantly dug up as it is released, and that their fans are very much used to deciphering vague information the developers leave behind. Having Charlie's sister added to the game would also be a very logical way to advance the plot and hinting to it around April Fools just causes more chaos.

 

Any thoughts, information on the subject, so on.

June One hype or bust

Dedicated server failed to start.

So I'm pretty sure this is not a bug in game, that's why I didn't post this in the bug tracker. This is how it looks:

The thing is that this is not a dedicated server. Just the one that you can quickly make.

There is also this thing in the server_log: "[Warning] Could not confirm port 10888 is open in the firewall."

Do you guys know what can cause this or how to fix this. This ,,bug" happens on ever single server that i make usually after 4-7 days or sometimes (like in this one) i can play for longer period of time but sooner or later this will happen.

 

Usefulness of Certain Biomes?

The game does a good job of making every biome useful for something but it feels like the balance of usefulness in a normal world is really awkward.

So, deserts provide bones, rocks, ore, tumbleweed, cactus. Plains has bees, berries, all the normal resources. Swamp has reeds, spiders, tentacles, merm. Spider forest has spiders, lesser normal resources, graves, pigs.

But the savannah, deciduous and mosaic are really left out?

 

Savannah has rabbits, spiders and beefalo, but the only many resource is grass. So, outside of acquiring grass a savannah biome in itself has no inherent resources players will want. And since grass can usually be found in the plains it matters even less.

Deciduous has birch, pigs, catcoons and mushrooms, with some lesser resources. But in the end players normally only go to the deciduous for Glommer or the King. Catcoons are good for meat and birch for trail mix, but both of those sources are obsolete compared to most others in easier places. The biome itself has virtually no resources that are valuable enough to encourage players to go there. Which is the big reason why generic Pig King bases are so unethical because the deciduous biome itself has no majorly useful materials for players to sustain themselves with.

Mosaic has rocks, and a graveyard. Personally hate the existence of this biome because outside of the graveyard; there is literally no beneficial resources for players to gather while they are there other then rocks. Which is what the rockland is meant to be for is the prime rock source, so the mosaic is basically a second rockland pretending it is something more; with a graveyard as attempted evidence.

 

It would be cool if they maybe "buffed" these biomes to give them better resources. Perhaps the savannah could have more rocks and rare gold veins to make it a soft-rockland, the deciduous could have significantly more mushrooms and inherent juicy berry bushes, and the Mosaic could have less rocks but more random resources. Just something to make these biomes more useful on their own since they currently feel like dead-zones in the world where there are only specific reasons to visit them, which often are unrelated to the resources of the biome itself.

Savannah would give players a more lenient access to rocks on-the-fly, players could visit the deciduous for the unique mushrooms and gather berries while there, and the mosaic would just have general useful things for players to gather.

 

Although it would also be useful if catcoons occasionally spawned in the plains, since they are a pretty generic mob yet they are confined to one biome where they are rarely interacted with.

Not in Suggestions & Feedback because this isn't a statement of a suggestion it is more of a question on whether people feel this is an issue.

Mac Pause Problem

Whenever I press escape to pause on my Macbook, the game exits fullscreen. This happens as well when I press escape to unpause. It doesn't happen with any other games. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? It happens on the original singleplayer version too.

Themed Bases?

So after a long break (I burned myself out real bad) I finally started playing some Don't Starve Together again, and I decided that this time I wanted to finally start on a project. Something not really all that practical, but that I thought would be kind of fun. So I started making a world that will essentially be filled with National Park, each in a specific biome, with camp sites, the camp keepers quarters, - the whole shebang. I'm currently using the water mod (I forgot it's exact name, but it has water, tea kettles, and more, and the art style actually looks dead on for Don't Starve) to make the camps more elaborate, and honestly, I'm thinking about toning down all the monsters to use the Thirst mod and the Fire Starter mod, for the added realism, and to make my park feel more "campingy". Obviously not practical, but fun, and I will post pictures when I finish my current campground, "Catcoon Creek".

 

So what my question is to all of you, have you ever made a not necessarily practical nor utilitarian base, but a themed one? And if so, what? I did make a castle ages ago on the Vita (In the dark ages before I got a Laptop), which I don't have pictures of, but I've always rather enjoyed making themed bases and areas. So if you have, by all means share!

Okay... it was in the middle of a winter night, I was dead, a ghost.

Then I heard heavy breathing and footsteps as if a giant was walking around. I couldn't see anything as it was dark.

When the day came, all my chests were smashed to pieces. The things that were inside were still there.

Did anyone experience this before?

I don't know if it was because of the night, the winter, the sanity (but I was dead already) or perhaps because I had chests close to the Florid Postern...

Any ideas?

DST Computer Crash Issue

Hello forums,

I didn't know where else to post this as it's not a bug or anything, so I wanted to here.

I play DST sometime with my friend but we keep having a problem where after usually less than an hour of play his computer will crash. This only happens with Don't Starve Together, as we've played several other games together for over 6 hours together with no issue on his behalf. We are not playing with any mods at all, and it always shuts down his computer, not just the game or anything.

I was wondering if anyone had any idea what the issue could be, he has no problem running the game (No poor frame rate or stuttering), and the shut down occurs around an hour of game play, we've tried reinstalling to no avail, and his computer doesn't seem to over heat or anything.
