how do you make your server be able to host more than 6 players?

Hey, I was just wondering is there a way to pinpoint the loot stash on the map, using commands or something?

I know it could be considered "cheating" but I hate wasting time looking for it.

Any help is much appreciated ^_^

P.S I know it spawns in birchnut and mosaic biomes

I've noticed people often dismiss ideas concerning balance when the game is played solo, claiming the game is meant to be played with others. I thought it would be a good idea to get some sense of how many people actually do play solo in the first place. The poll is asking about when you intentionally play alone, not games where you are in an open world but nobody else happens to be there

Basically title. I made this as a counterpart to the "Whats your favorite Dont Starve mob?" thread.

Here is the list of all the mobs I dislike, in order.

Spoiler

1. Splumonkeys (They can end even the longest of runs.)

2. Frogs (Frog rain.)

3. Mooselings (I have had bad experiences with them.)

4. Bunnymen (I don't even need a reason for this one.)

5. Dragonfly (Single-player version.)

6. Dangling Depth Dwellers (Except when I'm Webber, then their my best friends.)

7. Damaged Clockwork Rooks (Always breaking my pseudoscience stations.)

8. Clockwork Bishops/Damaged Clockwork Bishops (Too much range, unkiteable.)

9. Pengulls (Why are they always in base?)

10. Hounds (General annoyances.)

I joined a dedicated Klei Official server (because my main server is totally broken, it keeps kicking me out of the game due to corrupted data) and being the only player left in the public server, this random guy shows up burning the entire base and there's no way I could rollback or boot/ban him from the server because I'm the only one left which doesn't give me any options to kick/ban or rollback. I think there should be options to deal with this kind of situation. This is not fun at all, I help build this basic base with other players for others to join once I leave only to have this random guy come in to burn & destroy everything. He killed Chester and Glommer, ate all the food, hammered the 2 icebox and burned down everything.

Question about Darkness

Me and my friends are noobs and got caught by the darkness (charlie?) the 5th night. 

We had a Firepit on. 

Do we need more lights?

I want to explore all these new awesome things that have been added, but I don't want to and can't rely on people on the other side of the world to play with me when I have time. I would like to play it like the normal Don't Starve, but if I remember correctly, the health of the monsters gets doubled with 2 players, and the servers assume that at least two people will play

 

Is that true, or am I just being to worried? And if it is true, is there any way to disable it?

The wiki says "If the Ancient Fuelweaver is killed it will trigger an "explosion" that will activate after three minutes, it will renew the Ruins".

Does this mean there's like a Predator style explosion that you need runaway from?

Honestly I never saw bigger crap than combat against ANTLION.

Stupid walls that block vision, on top of stupid spikes that deal way to much dmg, and are cast like every second, to the point you get trapped and can't even dodge.

If you either don't run to give him gifts or kill him he will destroy things whenever you are atm, cool mechanics, such interesting summer, fishing for trinkets, and if I want to go to the pig village that is on other end of the world I wont even make it back in time to give him next set of gifts.

Whole mechanic and combat with that thing is BEYOND FRUSTRATING, and is in DIRE need of changes.

*pig disappears*

Is it just me? I keep losing my pigs when dusk comes. Hell they even refuse to come by the fire and/or sleep on the ground. They just start running around screaming for help and i end up losing their attenction after dusk comes..!

I used to be able to bring them to my base and use them as a sanity-boost while they were sleeping , i used to give them football helmets to never lose them.. and yet since a few game updates they just disappear once dusk comes. Am i doing something wrong?

 

EDIT: apparently the fatties are willing to follow me if i turn my lantern/torch on... And somebody said taming a beefalo was hard.. :wilsondisapproving:

New Wiki

As most of you probably know, the Don't Starve Wiki isn't the best source of information around. It often does not include in depth information, or even any pages for some things. Most of it is for Don't Starve and Shipwrecked, as well, not Don't Starve Together.

I propose we start a new wikia, solely for Don't Starve Together, and to make it the best it can be as a source of learning the game and all the is about it. I could do this by myself, although it would probably take a lot of work and time, and I can't guarantee it's popularity over the previous wiki, but if we assembled a team, or if just anybody helped, I bet this thing could launch off the ground in no time. Who's with me?

I mean, either this or we could work to improve the current Wiki.

Willow and Bernie

BORING STORY TIME, SKIP IF NOT INTERESTED: I love how Bernie works. Even if most people don't see its potential, having a bernie ready to protect your bums (and those of every other player in the server) while you are fighting a deerclop with 0 sanity is a true lifesaver. You literally  don't have to worry about the nightmares during long fights, and can prevent you getting ambushed by nightmares while you are not paying attenction.

Sadly you have to waste 1 inventory slot to carry Bernie with you at all times. I know you could leave him in the base.. but usually:

a) Someone takes him without knowing how it works

b) You store in a chest. Someone notices it and places it on the ground. As soon as players go insane they just ignore the nightmares and watch as Bernie gets eaten alive  instead of going to help.

c) Despite you never going insane , other people will blame you if you use the sewing kit to repair Bernie because "it's a waste". It's my bear okay!? :wilson_cry:

Furthermore Bernie is not unique to Willow. Everybody can take him. This means that once a Willow dies, just like her lighter, people can still use her items. Basically one could spawn as willow, suicide and leave the server while still helping others. How would a Woodie main feel if any other character could chop as fast as him?

MY SUGGESTION (Important part  :wilson_laugh:): So.. unless we all learn that Bernie is made just to buy you some time against nightmares and he still needs help , i feel like Bernie needs to be reworked. How about  devs making it  "attached" to Willow like a backpack, so that everytime that someone's sanity drops below 30% it magically "spawns" under Willow  and stays there until she picks him up again (or.. hits him to despawn him like you would despawn Abigail or Shadow puppets). Another solution would be to make Bernie a special backpack for Willow only that can be placed on the ground to work as usual.

I understand that Willow's mechanics are not going to be reworked because she's way too strong compared to other characters ( ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ sarcasm ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  ) but at least rework her items!

So I have a world where i play solo as Wendy. I'm on day 310 and I have just killed Bee Queen. It took me so long because i needed to build like 30 rabbit hutches around giganting beehive and I have it right next to rocky biome so meteores can sometimes fall and destroy some of them so it took even longer. But that's not the point. The point is: you (should) understand by this that I'm not like pro players who can go fight with bosses on day like 60. I have a (I think) decent base and all that stuff and i was thinking about killing Dragonfly/Klaus. It would be my 1st time fighting this guys and i saw some tutorials/speedruns of them but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do the same things. So that's why i wanted to ask if i should just go and try to kill them or should I create a ,,training world" where I'll try to kill them?

Hi all! It's been a while. I don't have any updates on crafts or anything, but I was wondering if anybody knows if any nice, active servers on Discord dedicated to DST? I'm having trouble finding one and I'd really like to make some more buds interested in the game, as most of my friends don't really play anymore. I still need to solve the Metheus puzzle as well.

In the meantime if anybody'd wanna add me and we can chat or play sometime I'm aesthdeadic#4855! 

[Q/Bug?] Farm crops wilting without player presence?

Hi all,

I'm getting somewhat frustrated with farms during summer - I have a flingomatic running and protecting the farms, and as long as I'm in the area, everything is OK. But when I move away from the area, (>3-5 screens away from the farms), I will find some/many of the crops wilted, despite flingo having been on and running the entire time. Is there something I'm missing, or is this a bug? This happens even when I'm away for less than a day (collecting spider loot, reeds...).

I try to learn by trial and error instead of doing a lot of reading as I enjoy the process of discovery but sometimes I make exceptions for the sake of expediency.

 

After dragging suspicious marble around for days I reconstructed the three set pieces.  Waited for a full moon to see what would happen and they came to life and dropped sketches after they were dispatched.   I rebuilt them at my base and one night I heard a loud thunk sound so I went to investigate, all three pieces were shaking (happened to notice it was a new moon, aha).   The battle was way more than I bargained for but I survived and a shadow atrium was dropped.   I also have the key.

 

So what now?   I know something of reconstructing a skeleton (how and with what?), a gate somewhere and an atrium (how do you get there?).    This is my last boss to do solo and after reading a little just getting there seems difficult, upside down tentacles, permanent insanity, and hostile creatures everywhere.
