Boat lips look a little odd

For the uninitiated: boat lips are what the files call these cone looking things. They're put under the flat shape of the boats to create this nice 3d water displacing effect.

I like this effect a lot, but it's always bothered me how it ends up making the boats look like they're resting on a weird gray cone.

I mean, they technically are resting on a weird gray cone, but I can't help but think it'd look much nicer if it were made brown like the boats themself and were given some rope details, though If that ever were to happen it'd be nice to have the different boat skins also taken into account. 

What are your thoughts?

Tall Birds Overwhelmed

Tens of years haven't been to the nests and the tall brids had duplicated themselves into a massive crowd of terror. Approximately 300 tall birds is around now and they are ready to conquer the Throne. 

Maybe there should be a minimum distance between regenerated nests.

Some peaple who bought TF2 might know a website called "quicksell.tf" or "backpack.tf", is there an alternative to those used for Don't starve tradable clothes and belongings? 

If no how hard would it be to actualy host such a website?

What Item Skins Would You Want More Of

Question is in the title, but I'm really curious to hear what ideas everyone has! Personally I would love some Crockpot and Wall Skins (Any wall really.. maybe more likely Wood or Hay though, Hay walls need more of a reason to be used fr) 

Heck if you even have some specific design concepts don't be afraid to share them! The Unfinished Skinsets (part II)

Woohoo!  There are now 3 Collections of skins that all 18 survivors have! They are the Costume collection, Snowfallen, and now; Year of the Varg (aka the Verdant collection) Updating with the full screenshot of all Verdant skins. Also since this OG post, we've gotten

Wilson's one-off the Barber's Collection

and a new set: the Masquerade collection. Wilson, Wolfgang, Wendy, WX, Wickerbottom, Maxwell, Wigfrid, Webber, Winona, Wormwood, Wurt, Walter, and Wanda will need skins for this collection to be complete.

The completionist within me yearns for the day when all of the sets that have only 1-3 survivors left to finish them off gets added, but who knows when that'll be (Victorian, Hallowed Nights, Roseate, Triumphant, and Survivor)

I have noob question about "quick drop" mod

I just disabled and and then deleted it. But it seems I can still use "quick drop" functions. I can still SHIFT + left click to drop, and SHIFT + CTRL + left click drop single. Why is that?

Is quick drop function built-in in the game?

 

I can see in setting->control that there are "force container (mod)" and "force stack (mod)" options, not sure if they are related to "quick drop", but the key binding use the same ones as "quick drop".

Interpersonal/Management Advice Needed

I'm hosting my own server more often and have one player showing up...  I imagine a 10-year-old boy.  We'll call him Loyo.

Loyo is very enthusiastic about fighting bosses and has a short attention span.  I think his heart is in the right place, but he goes around killing everything and leaves resources on the ground.  He rarely does any preparation, no armor or helmet, probably because he dies so often he just loses it anyway.  Every once in a while, he'll do something great, like build a boat and plant lureplants on it.  But he doesn't think about where to put the boat, or often embrace the concept of doing what's best for the team instead of what feels right in the moment.

Yesterday I had to pick the Terrarium up off the ground and say we couldn't put it down again until everyone agreed it was time.  That I personally wanted armor, helmet, a decent weapon, and full stats before I would be ready.  *Phew*

I then went with him on a boat (entering his world) when in retrospect I should have let him go and spent the time preparing for winter.  In another server, a player or two died and went AFK, and the little ghost in my sanity meter kept me insane so that I could hardly do anything besides fight shadow creatures.  I kept ahead of the telltale hearts this time, but I could have made even better decisions.

Another player did a nice job farming, shaved some beefalo, killed spiders, and made Winter Hats for everyone and I let her down.  Instead of boating to I-don't-know-where without any boat patches, I should have been out finding her a gear for a fridge and 2 shell fragments for a  Seed Pack-It and stone for more crock pots and Thermal Stones for everyone to make the most of her labors.  Then we all should have been lined up at MacTusk's door on day 21.  We returned with cookie cutter shells and enough salt, but that could have waited.  If we don't have a better idea, I'll probably talk to Loyo before the game.  Go over this paragraph with him and ask for his reaction.  Ask him, "What did the team need most during that time?"

I could do better not letting myself get distracted, keeping my eye on the bigger prize, what's best for the group.  Focusing more on a leadership role.  Set a better example?

How do I communicate with a 10yo?  Do I tell him one thing a bunch of times, then another thing a bunch of times later?  I've insta-banned people for PvP violence.  For anything less serious and immediate, even if I ban him in the end, it's my responsibility to communicate well and give him a chance to change.

Is it condescending to say that DST is a game of preparation?  That you spend hours preparing for success in minutes-long battle?  That you need to mostly put group needs above your own desires?  Or do I just say, "stop that" and "do this now" over and over?  Do I need to give him a medium-broad goal?  If he could kill the spiders around camp, mostly without dying, and leave a stack each of monster meat, silk, and glands at the camp, that would be really productive and he might like it enough.

Lunar shrooms from lunar rifts?

All the flowers and trees that the lunar rifts destroy are fine with me, since we can just replant it if we want to or world regrowth will fix itself except... uprooted mushrooms. I had a fairy circle of blues that just got destroyed which has me thinking- what if instead mushrooms became temporary surface sources of lunar shrooms for as long as the rift lasts? This could also make a caves resource surface-obtainable which could help no-cave worlds (although you can't fight the CC without caves sooo). Just a thought!

Help: Rift generated by c_spawn get stuck in Phase 3

I have a long world (700+days) on a dedicated server.

 

We defeated the Celestial Champion after the latest update, but the rift didn't created after we wait for 30 days. So we decided to use the command c_spawn(lunarrift_portal) to spawn a rift. It did spawn a rift, but then we found it just keep staying at phase 3, generating crystals only but not the Brightshades. Since it doesn't generate the Brightshades, seems it won't close forever. I tried two delete commands like ConsoleWorldEntityUnderMouse():Remove() and c_select():Remove() but failed to delete this rift. Any help?

Can you believe it? 10 years of Wilson, the Survivors and the Constant. From our humble beginnings as a Chrome app to well over 25 million copies all around the world and we haven't slowed down yet.
