One thing that has been consistently awful in DST so far is the spawn location of Volt Goats. Just about every file I've had, the game has seen it fit to put their herd close to dense packs of hound mounds or the edge of the Dragonfly's area where they're either killed by the Dragonfly itself or set on fire by jumping against the lava ponds. In my current file the remaining Volt goats are precariously situated between both.
We've culled enough of the hound dens so that they aren't an immediate threat but the Dragonfly seems to be killing them off screen. I came by one day to find over 11 horns just lying on the end of the Dragonfly's territory so evidently she's been killing them for a while. I decided I wanted to try to relocate them so I teleported one to a pen far away with the telelocator staff- which only resulted in an extremely agitated goat that smashed down its pen walls. Apparently the lighting bolt that teleported the goat also charged it. Nothing seemed to work in calming it down and it ended up getting put down when it crashed through its pen wall and attacked our Beefalo because SOMEBODY left the Beefalo gate open...
So I clearly don't know what I'm doing- but I'm hoping some of you do:
- Is there any way I can relocate the goat herd to a safe place far away or start a new one?
- Is there anyway to uncharge a charged Volt Goat?
Advice from code junkies and goat wrasslers would be appreciated.
