I'm playing DST on a kind of amateur level with a couple of friends and we managed to get to the mid of our first summer for the first time. And then we noticed, that summer is so hot, that things can catch on fire just like that. We couldn't keep our base from burning down almost completely. We didn't have a Fling-O-matic and figured that that might be the thing we are missing in our base, since we couldn't think of any other way to gain control over the fire.
So the first question actually is: Is there another effective way to fight an outburst of fire in your base?
Secondly: We tried to build a Fling-o-matic, but it probably was already too late, since we didn't find any ice during this season. It's usually in the stone valleys right? What other ways are there to find/gain ice? Is there any way to gain ice during summer? Maybe you can find ice even during summer in the caves (haven't been to the caves yet)?
The fact that we couldn't find any ice during summer, rendering us unable to build the Fling-o-matic pretty much ruined our game.
