I like the idea that the food we cook or make would be cold or hot respectively to where we keep them for a while. There are some stats that they stay warm or cold until certain point but those last for not that long. Would be better if we could have more options to play around and have visuals towards when the food is colder or hotter adding some small level of impact towards gameplay if we wanna stay longer out in the cold and keeping hot food warmer for longer in our packs or that we could cool it just to move on further.
Cold foods deliver some level of coolness to save one's behind on very rare occasions, but they don't really last long either nor are preserved that well to stay in cold storage despite being encased or made of ice.
Playing around with decay of cold foods from heat or warm foods being not as appetizing from being too cold unless heated up might be a fun idea to have implemented, since it exists and never been established.
It might help out anyone that keeps food cold in storage bin or hot food in bundles or backpacks, placing food near fires to warm them up or on tables while there's a heatsource nearby to make them feel nice fresh and good meals to have. Newbies might benefit from that idea and it adds an aspect to survival for everyone to enjoy.
