Hello again, here's yet another little skin detail that has irked me in the past and only recently came to mind again so I thought I'd bring it up.
The triumphant collection of skins, much like the survivor & formal collections, give certain survivors a new base facial expression on top of the altered attire. While the survivor collection make some characters look more serious, the formal collection make them appear either confident or bored. On the other hand, the triumphant collection (apart from Maxwell) give some of the characters a smug yet menacing expression.
In regards to her own triumphant skin, Winona is no exception of this pattern. However, I can't help but feel like something's a little strange with her expression, specifically her mouth.
As for Winona herself, all of her skins use one out of three types of mouth expressions:
* Neutral rested mouth, used in most skins
* Light smile, used in her formal, roseate and merrymaker skins
* A broad smile, almost a grin, only used in her triumphant skin
Personally, I think the skin in general is really great; from the triumphant collection's color theme of red/black/dark gray found in her gloves, boots and coveralls, to her steel earrings, pomp hairstyle, and lets not forget about the black rose emblem on her back!
But again, the mouth feels somwehat... off. It might just be the lack of distinct mouth corners (beyond where the lips end) that the other skins and the triumphant portrait has, or perhaps it is simply because it looks like a gray banana on her face.
Regardless, I was curious about what this skin would look like with her formal/roseate/merrymaker mouth but with the triumphant gray lipstick, so I made a quick little edit and...
... needless to say, I'm quite pleased with the result. I think the demeanor of her expression and the skin as a whole remains the same while the mouth is, simply put, less distracting.
And again, I'd like to hear what you think.
