playing an online created server in lan mode!
hi every body I was wondering is that possible that we can play an online created server in LAN mode?
i created a server long time ago and i am 1300 days old now, i wanted to play with my friend but due to the bad connectivity our game becoming very laggy, i decided maybe we can make the online created server to work as an offline server.
Need help in getting the(Mini Monument ) skin
I have don't starve rog and DST but i can't find the code to put it in the game.
any one can help me here?
Is it possible to change server settings while it is running?
As the name suggests, I want to know if certain server settings, such as PvP, can be changed via console commands while the server is still running, rather than BEFORE it is running. My reason for asking is to provide a "grace period" for a time.
Why can't we have rose skins
why can't We have Rose skins I don't want maybe guesses I want an actual answer if the Dev's don't want to port the skins or ever want to port the skins I'm fine with it my problem with it is that they have said nothing really on the issue except maybe and now it's been close to a year and a half since they released and we still don't have and Tencent still doesn't have the guest of honor skins
Tips on how to be Courteous to Fellow Players
Now this thread is not meant to call anyone out, nor is it about venting your frustrations over mistakes noobs make. These are tips aimed more at showing ways of being considerate than improving your skill at the game.
I don't have a lot of time for playing computer games, so when I play DST I tend to hop on a random server and help out all I can before I have to leave (sometimes hosting my own server if I can't find one, which tends to be lonely), and I thought it would be nice to share ways I've found of not being a liability and not getting on peoples bad sides. I'd like to see other peoples tips too, in case there's some I've missed or just haven't thought of. So here's mine :3
- Don't ask where the Base is Right After Joining: This one's simple, but it goes a long way in not annoying people. Now I know that when you first enter a server you want to know where you can come to at night to cook and spam the /dance emote, but be patient. If you aren't given directions or offered an escort, explore, gather some things, get your bearings. People will respect you more if you survive a few days before asking where the base is located. Who knows, you may even find it on your own!
- Don't Pick Everything: When first entering one of the many randomly generated islands, our brains tend to immediately slip into PICK ALL THE THINGS mode, especially those of us who've spent a fair amount of time in the single player game. However, when playing in multipayer, one has to stop and think, "Hey, if I systematically pick every bit of flint, grass, twigs, and food from around the portal in a ten mile radius, then there won't be anything left for new players!" Please, be considerate. How can you expect new players to survive a few days if they can't even scrounge up enough for a torch?
- Drop some Flint by the Portal: It's a small thing that'll help out people just entering the server. You don't even have to go out of the way to do it; if you happen to be pasing by the portal and have some flint to spare, just drop some by it, or make a pickaxe to leave behind so they can collect their own. Heck, I've heard of people making a chest by the portal containing equipment like torches, rabbit earmuffs, and pickaxes to help new players out.
- Don't Enter in Winter or Summer: Pay attention to the day and season of the server you're joining. If you want to join in a difficult season for some extra challenge, go ahead. Just don't expect everyone to drop what they're doing to help you out.
- If you don't want Strangers, set a Password: You'd think this one would be a no brainer, but I've heard a lot of stories of people joining servers just to be kicked the moment they enter. I assume it only happens when someone doesn't know that they can make a password for they're server, but still, it's rude.
- Drop your Stuff Before you Leave: Before you leave a server, it's nice to drop your items on the ground so others can use them. If you're playing with familiar people on a server you know you'll be on again, you can keep your equipment. In any case it's still rude to leave with gears, a big stack of silk, or any other important items still in your inventory, selfishly taking them out of reach of the unfortunate players left on the server.
- Keep Busy: Look around the base. Does it still need some drying racks? A crockpot? Some farms? Do the traps need to be emptyed? Are you low on wood? Look around for things that need to be done, and if you're having trouble finding something, it never hurts to ask. No one likes a leach.
I hope you enjoyed reading through my wall of text and I didn't waste your time. Feel free to post helpful tips of your own, and you might help a few people become a little more helpful. Maybe.
If you want a tldr just read the bold text.
Skin Rarity Drop Rate
Is there anywhere that says the drop rate for each rarity? I would understand that Elegant items would have a much less chance to drop than Common, but are there any solid numbers? Any help would be appreciated! -Infynite
Skin gifts with family sharing
Hello, im sharing my steam libery with my sisters account, she was playing like 8h today and she didn't received any gift.
She wasn't playing for 2 weeks so its not about 4gift/weekly limit.
Did devs changed that?
Are there any plans for character balance?
Title.
I made a similar thread on Reddit when I was still new to the game. But, decided to drop the subject until I got good.
8xx hours later and the only character change I've witnessed is a buff to Willow's freeze/sanity mechanic.
Are there any future plans for character balance? Any at all?
Wickerbottom and Wolfgang are God tier. They are literally leagues ahead of every other character in the game... to the point where not having one in your party is akin to gimping your runs.
From a solo perspective it's hard to justify playing anything except Wicker, or Wolf, if you want things done in a timely manner.
Hunger is not so hard to control that Wolfgang should get an obscene 2.00x dmg at full hunger, with added movement speed and health on top.
The tentacle fields that Wicker can create serve way too many purposes, on top of the other overwhelming perks her other books give.
Why is it that these two characters have managed to stay so overpowered for so long? Why have the devs done nothing?

Bugged attacks on Dragonfly
Hello community, so i've found a new bug with dragonfly (or it may be old, idk) but when someone tries to attack Dragonfly first time it work perfectly, but when she resets to go spawn lavae's, and then come back to fight again, your character sometimes (or oftenly always) go under her and keeps running back and forward, could you Klei please fix this? This makes the game almost impossible to play for me or for other people.
Number of Recommended Players for Bosses
(This being my first Klei forum addition idk what the heck im doing)
I was wondering what everyone thought a reasonable player count (1-6 players) for each boss of the game would be. I haven't played in a dedicated game with over 3 people yet so it would really help. The reason I want this number is because I am doing some math along with modifying the Modoveride files of the Automatic Health adjust mod to balance the game as much as possible.
Ancient Gateway Theories/Ruins
I was always fascinated by the Ancient Gateway so I am wondering what other people thought it was.
Honestly the fact that it restores the ruins may be part of some deal involving an unknown being beyond the portal. At the tablets detailed the Ancients were starving and scared and possibly and something from this dark realm made a deal with the leader for infinite riches and food for his people.
I think this deal had a dark side though. I think this evil being just wanted to have a link between the DS world and the Dark one for an equal rule. And the killing of the ancients was the shadow's attack that also must have failed because of the fact that the world seems to be not totally overrun by darkness.
This also could tie into another theory I had of the sanity creatures being "good" and they are the visually twisted and forgotten ancients trying to stop the player from reopening the Ancient Gateway. I could even go as far to say that the Fuelweaver is a reincarnation of the King of the Ancients but that's debatable.
The only hole in this theory is the fact that the Ancient Fuelweaver seems to be referring to "them" as the sanity creatures
If I wanted to take a Bigger step I could even say that Charlie is possessed or is being bargained by the being beyond the portal. Whatever its just a crazy Theory I have.
Heck maybe somehow keeping this gateway open spawns the end of the world an event where your world is on the line who knows?
Looking for Option : Always night / Always Spring (on a running world!)
I know a lot people already asked over the years if it is possible to change server settings on a running world. The answers.. I couldnt find them. Some say it is possible with editing the .lua file some say u need to create a mod (I'm not a programmer and have no clue about scripts) and haven't found a mod who gives me my desired options.
1st:
I tried changing the .lua file of my world which had the pre setting "autumn="verylongseason"" which I want to turn off just like I did with summer and winter in te pre settings, however, setting it to "noseason" doesnt seem to do the trick. (It even switches back to pre setting after I run the world) How to get only Spring on a running world - Any ideas?
I wish to have always night not just dusk. However in the settings I used the pre setting "no daytime" - day="noday" but this gives me a super long dusk and a season moderated night. I have not found the option to manipulate this valuer but if there is a way to change this please help me with the steps.
I used the setting frograin="often" and now I want to get rid of rain all together, however I found a console command which will help me with that, but if there is a way to turn off rain and frog rain forever pls let me know.
I changed frograin="often" to frograin="never" but as I said the .lua file just went back to it's original pre settings after I run my server.

I know Don't Starve (Together) is a survival game and having no trees or no light and no seasons might spoil the fun for some people however I wish to make a special world with special settings and I hope some of u can understand. I know that the command tool is already very mighty but I still ask for more. >.< I already invested a lot work on it and coming to think of it I should have asked this question before I set up the server, I can start fresh on a new server to get my only spring season that I wish for and I can get rid of rain and frog rain but the problems for only night and tree regrowth would remain and especially the night factor is a really big factor for my world.
I really wish to get the answers and a "how to" if possible.
Thanks for reading..

What Don't Starve mob(s) do you dislike most?
Basically title. I made this as a counterpart to the "Whats your favorite Dont Starve mob?" thread.
Oh, and here is the link to the aforementioned thread:
Here is the list of all the mobs I dislike, in order.
1. Splumonkeys (They can end even the longest of runs.)
2. Frogs (Frog rain.)
3. Mooselings (I have had bad experiences with them.)
4. Bunnymen (I don't even need a reason for this one.)
5. Dragonfly (Single-player version.)
6. Dangling Depth Dwellers (Except when I'm Webber, then their my best friends.)
7. Damaged Clockwork Rooks (Always breaking my pseudoscience stations.)
8. Clockwork Bishops/Damaged Clockwork Bishops (Too much range, unkiteable.)
9. Pengulls (Why are they always in base?)
10. Hounds (General annoyances.)
Not-so-Honorable mentions:
Tentacles
Batalisks
Cave Spitters
Lureplants
Birchnutters
And that should be it!
How to herd volt goats
I see quite a few people have issues with herding these horned hellions! I'll describe how I do it so that you can utilize them for milk, to overcharge anytime with WX-78 (haven't tested, but it should work), or whatever!
Relocating:
A lot of people try the ol' "kill all except one, then move into a pen" tactic.. this works okay but this is quite time consuming!
How I do it: 1.) make a stone pen, at least 6x6 turf tiles, doored off. Then add another smaller stone area about 2x2 turf tiles with another door (this will be the smaller room to let you kill them easily without having to wait during nighttime). 2.) Place at least 1 salt lick inside the bigger pen (generally in the middle of the 6x6 area). The volt goats can't resist, these act like temporary spawn points. 3.) Now what you want to do is chase the guy towards the salt lick, it will then "path towards it." If the doors are closed, simply open the door while standing near it to prevent other goats from leaving. The volt goat will then path (ignoring you) towards the salt lick, then close the door! Just repeat this process as many times as you want to gather your own herd! Salt licks work not only on beefalo, but volt goats, and no eyed deers!
Tips:
~I highly recommend getting the "No wall attack" client mod, so that you won't accidentally hit your own stone walls while chasing the little buggers around with your (insert weapon of choice).
~During hound attacks you may want to keep away from your pen since the doggies will start to attack the walls to get to the goats (leading the goats to escape!). The goats will only path towards the salt lick every so often, so if they wander too far from the salt lick, they'll go back to their original spawn location.
~To get the most out of your goats, make sure to get their life down to around 50 or less, then use the Morning star to kill them. This will give you 1 milk!
~A rarely used but possibly effective method against giants is to purposely overcharge your goats (away from pen) and dragging deerclops or whoever to it. These guys so some rapid lightning damage!
~Though armor helps against the goats damage, only waterproof stuff will reduce their elemental damage when overcharged.
Closing statement:
This build is not for everyone and may take some practice to perfect. These goats are very wily, so make sure to keep at least 1 door closed to prevent their escape (even without being overcharged they can sometimes path right by you without fear so beware)!
